Five starts hotel shall not request money to use the safe box. One lift is not enough to make a proper service for this type of hotel. Moreover was used also by the maintenance personnel. Two time we use the stairs due to the fact the lift was always busy.

We stayed at this excellent hotel for 3 nights and found our close proximity to Wenceslas Square, the metro and trams made our quiet location excellent for our xmas shopping trip to the christmas marketstalls. Old Town square is just a few minutes walk away with it's excellent restaurants and concerts.

The hotel had great character and was well located(near metro and train station). We reserved a room for three people. Two of the beds were fine, the third was a sofa that was a board not a real bed sofa. i would not recommend a three person room. The elevator was not working while we were there and we were on the sixth floor, a bit of a climb. Again overall the hotel was fine except for the third bed situation.

Our stay at the Esplanade was better then i had hoped for! We booked a triple to cut costs travelling with 3 ladies (one was my mother). The spaciousness of the room made up for the fact that we were 3 people living there. I don't think i have ever had a more comfortable bed in a hotel! The room was not overpoweringly luxury, but had a quaint ROYALTY about it. I felt so at home there! The lobby and check-in area is quite small, however; when you include the attached cafe area just aside the check-in, you feel as though you were in a palace tea room. The location is very good. Right across the street from the state opera house and around the corner from the subway and the famous Wenceslas monument. I would recomend this hotel especially for people travelling to Prague by way of train because it is steps away from the train station and convienient for public transportation. (try to avoid taxis in Prague!). I loved my stay at the Esplanade and will surely stay there again during my next trip. The cleanliness and service in this hotel was fantastic!

We think the only ting missing after a long day's walking in Prague is a bath tub - but everyting else is fantastic. Location is fantastic with the subway just around the corner.

Esplanade is a hotel with an outdated infrastructure. My room e.g. had a non working air conditionning system and no WLAN or DSL connection. The hotel is clearly overpriced for Prag. There are nicer and more modern hotel for less money. The service on the other hand is fine. Employees are trying hard to satisfy you, knowing they have to make up for missing investment in infrastructure.

This was my first visit to Prague and the accomodation was excellent. The location was also great within easy walking distance to all the sights. I would book this hotel again on my return to Prague. Staff were also very helpful when approached for advice.

Very pleased with hotel for price paid, we booked about 2 weeks before when price was at it's lowest (watched the price over a few months)Good location, beautiful hotel. We paid for breakfast, there was a good variety, however after about 9.45 if the hot food (eggs/bacon etc) had run out there was no more. Emailed hotel after I had received confirmation of booking informing them it was a special occasion requesting a 'special room'. We were given the best room in the hotel, with a small balcony, on the top floor with a view of the castle lit up at night. Definately would recommend this hotel at the price we paid E327 for 2 for 3 nights.

We had a fanastic time in Prague. The hotel was beautiful their only downfall is that half of the staff were extremely rude and the other half were friendly and extremely helpful. Advice -send the grumps on a customer service course and then this hotel would truly deserve a five star rating.

Uncomplicated stay. We did not have much contact with the hotels employees. A bit disappointed that the check-out account did not match our calculations and that the receptionist was unwilling to make corrections of obvious mistakes. Very happy with location and surrounding area. Walking distance to all sceneries was a major factor for our hotel choice. Rather expensive food and beverages both in restaurant, bar and mini-bar. Will recommend this hotel to friends. Best regards Per Arne Bakkeli Bergen/Norway

Public areas of the hotel are stunning and our rooms all very clean-well decorated and really comfortable- Breakfast was not included in the price which took us by surprise but was well worth the money. Located at the top end of Wenceslas Square it was handy for all sightseeing. Overlooks a busy road but this was not noticable once inside. Staff all very friendy and helpful.

It's a big dissapointment. We expceted it to be 5* standard and it wasnt. The reception didnt care about us, the hotel public areas were small and in need of refurbishment, the rooms are small and also in need of refurbishment. The breakfast was awful. I'd stay there again if everywhere else was booked up.

The Europa was an excellent hotel which for once lived up to a web site description. The location was good, just a short walk away from the old town square etc. and staff were helpful and informative. Only 1 thing to add - you should advise that breakfast is not included in the price you quote - not that it was expensive to eat in the hotel.

Excellent in every way! Our room overlooked the Opera House - a wonderful view, particularly at night (the Opera House's restaurant is recommended too). Very convenient for walking, metro, or trams to all areas. Breakfast very reasonable price and plentiful/good quality. Although close to busy Wenceslas Square, the hotel and environs are very quiet.

This is a very nice, elegant hotel within walking distance of all the major sights. The bar was very quiet (we were the only ones there)and very pricey. If I went again I would probably choose somewhere closer to the Old Town Square or Charles Bridge as Wenceslas Square (close to the hotel) is pretty seedy at night and we had to walk through it to get back to the hotel.

We didn't know what to expect from a five star hotel with such decent prices - but our stay here was superb and we would definately go back. The location wasn't on the tourist route but we loved this as you actually feel like you're in Prague, the city, rather than Prague the package tour. The hotel is directly opposite the State Opera House and there are plenty of little local bars and food places down the back streets. You can walk to the Old Town square in 15 minutes or get the metro 2 stops to Charles Bridge. We were on the top floor and the room was beautiful. We had a balcony with view of Prague castle, a huge double bed and the Bathroom was pristine. We didn't eat in the hotel as it is typically 'hotel'expensive but we were more interested in having meals out than relying on the hotel to entertain us. If you go to a posh hotel expecting US style service and enjoy a environment, where you feel like you've got servants running around you 24hrs a day then this isn't for you. If you like staying in romantic places that have character with friendly but relaxed staff, where you can do your own thing then this is perfect.

The room was not large, but the price was right. The location is excellent. Two blocks from the metro. Easy walking to most locations. Only two blocks from the State Opera House (went twice)

For a 5star hotel we were very disappointed in our room size we complained on arrival but staff were not nice Next morning at breakfast we were told breakfast not included in our price luckily we had copy of our booking with us or we would have had to pay twice. Location was excellent but everything else o.k.

We had a really large room with a walk-on balcony overlooking the State Opera; a great bathroom (enormous deep bath, ultra modern fittings, black marble everywhere). The staff seemed to go out of their way to be courteous. The breakfast was delicious (even though the eggs and bacon were only warm) and plentiful. Good location, situated just off Wenceslas Square and midway between two Metro stations (3 or 4 mins. walk from the Museum station.

Even though 2 rooms with AC were confirmed on our reservation, we were given 1 room without AC and the other with a mal-functioned AC. The staffs did give us 2 other rooms with proper running AC. Taxi fare arranged by the hotel was more than 2 times the normal taxi meter rate. May be because we saw the taxi driver paid the bellman at the hotel when the taxi picked us up.

Sarebbe forse stato meglio segnalare che l'albergo non era così vicino alla parte storica della città ma solo a Piazza San Venceslao per cui è stato piuttosto faticoso muoversi a piedi.

Delighted to get this questionnaire as we did have a problem with this hotel. We booked a double room but when we checked in, the room was a twin room. What made it worse was that the reception tried to convince us that it was a double room! We specifically wanted a double bed, no two single beds. The could not give us a double room for that evening & were not apologetic at all about it. They said we could move to a double room the following night but as we were only there for a weekend it was too much hassle waiting around and then moving all our luggage. It put a dampner on the start of the weekend but must say found your web site very good - it just didn't deliver the goods for us on this occasion.
