My wife and I booked a double room which was rather small and narrow inside. However, its breakfast and staff were good. Location is also acceptable.

Verry smal room. Lots of noice from the other rooms and the street. The everyday cleaning was not good, and toiletpaper and minibar was not filled up. The breakfast was served from 7-10.30, but one day we came late 9.30, and then there was nearly empty for food. The ligts where not working. This was not a 4 star hotel but 2.

Really enjoyed our stay at Athena Palace. Everyone was so helpful and friendly! This was our second time to visit Prague. We came in 1989 for just 2 days. This time we stayed 2 weeks.Weather was gorgeous. Loved hopping on & off the trams. Tram 22 was just a half block from Athena Palace and took us to so many sights. My husband & I are seniors. We hope to come back.

the price was good for the hotel but it was realy not a four star hotel as it was indicated but not more two star hotel. For this category the price was just good and the room was very small and narrow as a corridor.

The people from the reception desk were very friendly and was a pleasure interacting with them. Another big plus goes for the swedish beakfast which was so various and delicios. The room was a little small and with some old furniture. So if you apreciate the way the personal is treating you, a wonderful breakfast and don't care to much the room looks like and want to be close to the center in a good area this hotel is a very good choice.

Great location and the room was lovely and quaint. Clean and just all you need for a short stay.

Our stay in Early May 2009 was highly enjoyable! The hotel is located within walking distance of almost all the points of interest in the city, which is a major plus point. There were a few noise issues as there was building work on the street, however this appeared to be almost complete when we were checking out. I'd have to say that the 4* rating would be somewhat optimistic, the foyer and public areas are basic, as are the rooms. However, the bed was possibly the most comfortable I've ever stayed in!!!!

The price of the room was the cheapest, so the room was the smallest. The pictures of the room correspond with the most expensive rooms in the hotel, but our bathroom was great!! In general well-located hotel and good breakfast.

L'hotel non è il massimo...certo per quello che abbiamo pagato (e volevano solo contanti!!! ma ci hanno lasciato la ricevuta) va più che bene...almeno per persone come noi...non troppo esigenti.

This is a low cost hotell. Price/quality is ok. Close to subway. And only 7-10 min walk to old city. Very helpfull staff. Elevator is not working. Breakfast ok. Do not accept creditcard. Only cash. Ask to pay the staff in cash in euro and not in koruna. The hotells exhange rate for korune can ripp you off. :) We stayed here for 3 nights and are overall happy.

First time at the Hotel. Great location!!!, near Old Town, near the river, and near the Metro. We changed the dates from our initial reservation by email and when we arrived they didn't have the reservation, fortunately they had rooms. The web page didn't mention that the price didn't include an extra charge for the breakfast, but it is an excellent breakfast. The service from the staff could be better, although our last night the attention was excellent.

we had one night in this hotel and it was ok and enough. it was a small rooms but clean. negative was that the room had the window to the street where it was very loud. we closed the window over night and than we realized that the whole hotel is not really quiet as peoples coming and going. the fridge we powered off as it sounds like a jumbo jet is starting. the breakfast was not the best in our eyes as no rolls are available and also the rest was one just ok. for that money I stayed in the past in Prague in a really new hotel with a very very nice breakfast and a good long sleep :-)... all the best

The kitchenette in our room had a strong foul odor that didn't go away even after our 6 nights there.I couldn't determine the cause. The breakfast room was charming and the spread was quite good, but they don't keep the eggs warm and the pastries can be slightly stale. Satisfied with the location. 2 blocks to the metro. We also walked a lot. Overall we were happy with our choice.

Price of the room at booking was 75 EUR / per night. In fact the payment made - tranformed in Czech Crone according to the Hotel Rate - was 90 EUR / per night. Parking was not available: at the Reception, the suggestion was to use the parking of another hotel. Room was so small not suitable for a double room. My suggestion is to use a different hotel.

Lovely hotel. Very polite and knowledgeable staff who when we told them we had been over charged by a taxi they reserved for us managed to get us a refund! Would recommend. Rooms clean, nice bathroom. Only downside is they don't have a lift so elderly people or people with mobility problems should avoid.

nice clean comfortable hotel 15 mins walk from wenseslas square 20 mins from old town square in a quiet street just off a main street with plenty of bars and restuarants in the area. The hotel has a small lobby/ bar area with comfortable sofas but the young man on night duty is possibly the most miserable man you are likely to meet in prague, he does not like being disturbed if there is a film on tv, he does not like serving drinks and sighs when anyone asks for one, he really has an attitude problem and i think he is in the wrong job, in contrast Malc who serves at breakfast and was on duty in the daytime could not be more polite or helpful. Breakfast was ok with a good variety. I dont know where the four star category comes from but this hotel is a good quality three star hotel. The hotel details states there is a lift but there is not, there are some rooms on the ground floor which seem to be the best, spacious and well decorated with nice bathrooms. We were a family of nine adults and we had a nice stay and would stay there again

Hotel Athena Palace truly exceeded my expectations. They had just opened in May 2006. The hotel was newly renovated and very clean. The staff was young , very ambitious and helpful and they did their very best to make the guests enjoy their stay in Prague. Our room was nice and the bathroom was great. There is no elevator but they have rooms on the 1st floor so you should mention that when booking if you do not wish to climb any stairs. We did - and we loved it. Communications to downtown were very good and very cheap by tram and by underground. And it is a wonderful walking distance to the centre to enjoy the river Moldau or the busy streets of the centre. There were nice restaurants close by. This hotel was very good value for the money. The hotel management used to have breakfast in the hotel restaurant so we got to talk to them often. I wish Athena Palace, its staff and the wonderful city of Prague all the best in the future. I am looking forward to be back soon and stay at this hotel again.

This hotel seems to be opened before it was completly refurbished. There is still work going on. Bathrooms, beds, furniture, it all seems to be brand new. It will be very nice when it is all finished. Please be advised that there is no elevator! The staff is very helpful and enthusiastic although they appear to be unexperienced in the hotel business. They make up for their lack of experience with their enthusiasm and eagerness to help out with whatever you ask for. I can reccommend the hotel.

The staff was very welcoming and hospitable. When we asked for nearby nightlife and info on trams, they were so helpful and gave complete directions and a map. The previous hotel we stayed at (Pension Brezina Prague) was awful in comparison. The room was clean and spacious, but the bathroom had one of those accordian doors. That's the only downside. The town square and Prague Castle were nearby (not walking, but tram or metro was right there). For the price, I think this is a great hotel.

When we arrived they were a bit disoraganised/busy but friendly. Our room wasnt ready until 4, but they kept our luggage in a secure room. The rooms are ok - not very big, but clean and comfortable with good bathrooms. Its about a 15 minute walk into town, but the tram is really close and fairly easy to work out. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We got a shuttle from the airport which cost about 18 euros for the 2 of us.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Prague on holiday. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, including booking taxis to and from the airport, and when we had to change our reservation plan because of illness, the staff were happy to arrange a family room instead - no hassle. Our room was a "studio" and so included a smal area with cooking facilities (which we did not use because we ate out) but it was handy to have a fridge where we could deposit soft drinks. There was some building work taking place outside the hotel but this did not disrupt our stay except when it rained - the rain water seemed to cascade onto the canapy at the hotel entrance - very noisy through the night! Breakfast in the restaurant was adequate. The hotel was situated in a quiet street off a main thoroughfare with a metro station 5 minutes walk away (although you can walk to the Old Town Square in about 30mins). All in all good value for money, a clean and welcoming hotel. I would stay here again when returning to Prague.

The hotel in general was adequate and clean, but I did feel somewhat disappointed. The room was very narrow and long and felt cramped. Also, the walls must be thin, as we could clearly hear every move our neighbors made in addition to their snoring. The people working at the desk, however, were very nice and spoke good English. There was a computer available with Internet, which was convenient for checking e-mail, however the connection was somewhat slow, and it took me a while to figure out how to make special characters on the Czech keyboard. The breakfast was a little skimpy but adequate, and the breakfast room was a bit cramped. Their claim about being located in the "center of Prague" is not really true, but the location is not bad, being within walking distance of two subway stations and with an east-west tram line running nearby. Overall, the hotel served its purpose for us, but it wasn't anything special, and I would not particularly recommend it.

I thought the hotel is well situated for easy access to the usual prague sites. there are several good restaurants/ bars nearby. The room I had was beside the main entrance and I could overhear people coming and going. Overall the hotel is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful.

As a young couple just wanting to spend an extended weekend in Prague, this hotel was ideal. Beds were comfortable - loved the big pillows! Within walking distance of metro and tram stops, round the corner from a convenience store, very helpful friendly staff, great facilities and served breakfast until ten - allowing a for a lie-in. I especially liked the weather update and welcome greeting that was on the table at breakfast.
