This hotel was brilliant. The staff were excellent, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. There are no lifts, escalators or even dumb waiters so, if you book the attic room; travel light - there are 4 flights of stairs which is rough if you have a 30kg bag like I did. Mind you the staff were more than helpful in assisting me to carry it up. The location is almost on top of Charles Bridge, you just can't get any closer. And the restaraunts by the water are excellent. The staff really know their way around and are so amazing and helpful, in 3 days I met 4 different staff and they were all great. You are close to everything and right in the thick of it but the the attic room elevates you above the crowds and it is just magic. I'll be staying here again!

Really nice hotel in a perfect position in the center of Prague history. Everything is within reach by foot. Rooms are clean and well designed with a mix of modern and medieval architecture characteristic of the old town houses. Free wifi connection also is present. Personnel is really kind and ready to help for any request. Breakfast is served in a linked café where you can taste the typical bagels. Last but not least the price is competitive. I recommend it.

Good small hotel in a great building in a convenient location just off of the Charles Bridge. Very sweet staff and we got to share Mona's birthday!

PERFECT LOCATION.IT'S NOT THE HILTON'S RECEPTION BUT MORE SPACE IN THE ROOMS THAN ANYWHERE ELSE ! THAT SAID A LITTLE BIT SAD ABOUT PRAGUE IN GENERAL AND THE OLD AREA INPARTICULAR . TOO MANY TOURIST SHOPS POISONING ALL THE INTEREST OF THIS CITY.

I can highly recommend this hotel. Excellent value and in a perfect location. We stayed in one of the attic rooms which was absolutely delightful. Wonderful for a romantic few days away. Only criticism would be the bed and bedding. Two single beds pushed together, and two single douves as well. But this was a minor point. Overall its a great hotel and I would be very happy to go back again. Eat out at C'Est La Vie and the Palfrey Palace restauraunts, both of which I can highly recommend.

How to reach Domus Balthasar Hotel
By airplaneFrom Ruzyne airport take bus line 119 to Dejvicka underground station; take underground line A (green) to Malostranska station. If your luggage is not too heavy you can reach the hotel on foot - turn right at the traffic lights and then straight on up to Malostranske namesti (Malá Strana) Square. There turn onto Mostecka, the street leading to Charles Bridge, and you will find the hotel at number 5 on the right hand side of the street. Otherwise take tram line 22 to Malostranske namesti Square, then cross the street in direction of Charles Bridge and turn onto Mostecka (street).
By underground/metro
From Nadrazi Holesovice take tram line 12 to Malostranske namesti (Malá Strana) Square, and then cross the street in the direction of Charles Bridge and turn onto Mostecka, the street leading to Charles Bridge, and you will find the hotel at number 5 on the right hand side of the street.
By train
From Hlavni nadrazi station, take underground line C (red) in direction Haje and get off at Muzeum. There change to underground line A (green) and go in the direction of Dejvicka; get off at Malostranska station.
