Hotel Solfatara - Pozzuoli

This is a great Hotel, the price is perfect for a 4 Star Hotel. However, in front of the Hotel is a major road so it is extremely loud if you are not used to the honking and stuff that goes on because of the traffic. The Location in great, close to some great restaurants and a 5-8 minute walk to the train station to go into Downtown Naples.

Séjour d'une nuit avant de prendre le ferry pour l'ile d'Ischia. Accueil très agréable et chambres de qualité. Des conseils intéressants sur les restaurants proches de l'hotel, l'accès au port et le ferry ainsi que sur la visite de la solfatara (ancien volcan) proche de l'hotel (50 mètres). A recommander pour un court séjour.

For this price I expected more "luxuos" hotel.

Steep incline from Pozzuoli port affords superb views from front rooms to the islands (not so from rear). Few guests and air con. either swithced off or we couldnt operate properly causing us to open sliding door for ventilation and then very noisey with traffic. Hydorgen sulphide smell (bad eggs) on second night - from volcano vents. Standards were good but carpet badly stained. Good car parking and access to train station.

Next door to the solfara which was our main point of interest in the area. City centre is about 20 min walk away.

We stayed 2 nights in late April. There were very few other guests. The hotel is located next to Volcano Solfatara and consequenly, tourist buses were constantly present on the street. Parking at the hotel was good. There was a lot of traffic noise, especially in the morning. The staff was helpful and most spoke English. Room was small but adequate for 2 peiople for 2 days. Bathroom was well equipped and relatively clean.

Le camere verso l'interno sono a ridosso della formazione rocciosa esterna della solfatara e quindi senza vista.

Although the area is run down it is made up for by the weather. Very convenient for trains to Naples. The Hotel was very much under used when we were there which was a shame. More marketing of hotel is required.

Hotel surtout adapté à une clientele d'affaires.Neanmoins ,un sejour touristique court (1 à 3 jours) est envisageable:la solfatara,à 2 mn de l'hotel est une promenade agreable;Ischia et Procida sont des excursions de tres grande qualité;enfin Naples peut etre rejoint par RER (gare à 10mn,20mn de voyage).
