The room were ok, but I had a room by the street side, was it very loudy. Next thing is that no one told about that little fact that everything in the small fridge in the room you need to pay for. I was very surprise when I had to pay 50 eur more for drinks ( coca-cola or fanta (330 ml) for 2 eur! ).The staff hardly understand few words in english! I couldn't even tell them fact that I'm not satysfied, they even wouldn't understand me. Belive me, I tried! And, Pozzuoli is the most ugly town I have ever been. And the people - they looked at you like you were an alien. Definetly - not good.

Two great restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. The Tivoli towards Pozzuoli is fantastic for food and atmosphere , and the pizza place directly across the street had the best pizza i had in Italy in 3 weeks of eating it. Nice hotel if you want to get out of Naples in a more local setting. Lots of ruins in the town, easy access to ferries to Ischia, Procida Capri, etc. Metro Line 2 from Garibaldi station gets you to Pozzuoli, and then a 25 minute walk to the hotel or take a cab. Staff was very friendly and helpful, free internet service in the lobby, I would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed at many hotels before but Gauro has left an impression as the service was excellent and the staff VERY helpful. I would highly recommend the institution to anyone. In fact my next visit to Naples would definitely be at the Gauro;)

Of course the coast road in front of the hotel is not getting it into a quite-zone, but your bed is not on the balcony and the doors keep the noise outside. The bathroom was very new and everything well cleaned. You can park your car in a locked garage on the other side of the street. The TV set also has access to SKY, so expect more than 100 programs, if you get tired of th view over the sea. We also ate in the pizzeria on the other side of the street and it was very good (try the vino sfusi bianco and a pizza with rucola). Do not expect much from the breakfast (pannini and some jam). In contradiction to one of the other reviews the price through online booking was 12 Euros CHEAPER than booking directly at the hotel). Standard rate posted is 72 Euros for the twin room (60 Euros is enough, I think, as we paid).

Gauro is an hotel with a great price for the location, but has some problems: 1. It is far from any quick link with center of the city (there's just a bus stop close to the hotel, but the bus for the center just comes one/twice in an hour). 2. It hosts noisy people (there was a couple screaming each other for one hour in the middle of the night without anyone saying them to shut up!). Anyway if You want an hote with a great price and a normal accomodation, Gauro is your hotel

Very clean. Free Internet access (although I repaired the connection 3 times). The best air conditioning we had in the entire country. Do not book on Venere.com. They charge 17 euros a day more than if you call the hotel and book directly. We found this out the day we checked out.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They were patient with my limited Italian and spoke some English. There was some confusion initially about the price when we tried to confirm over the phone with the hotel. However, when we called Venere, we were able to resolve the discrepancy. The location was in a clean safe neighborhood and was easy to find. Downtown Pozzuoli was within walking distance as well as train into Naples.

Reasonably good accommodation for the price. Road a bit noisy but not desperate. Get a good map though because the locals don't seem to know the place exists!

Probably a great hotel if you are travelling by car. Since we were sort of backpacking the distance to the acctual center of Pozzuoli and the beach was a bit to long. We got great service and the Cabdriver Giorgio gave us a pleasant stay. (We needed to take a cab to get to the best beaches/small nearby towns) (Shitpomfritt)

Based on the reviews I could read before our stay at Gauro, I had some fear because of the noise in the rooms, but there was absolutely NO problem with that!! The hotel, our room, the employees were great, they made our whole vacation excellent! The small Bar Garden opposite to the hotel has excellent view to the Gulf of Pozzuoli!

The hotel was very noisy due to the location on a main traffic road. This was not indicated on the web site.

The level of noise from the other bathrooms was very loud, espically when they were using their showers. We had a room with a view of the sea which was great, but there was a petrol station between us and the sea, which you saw over. The staff were very helpfull and very child friendly.

Hotel Gauro was located on a very busy and noisy street. Sleeping at night was difficult and there was nothing of interest in the area. We drove to the beach area but found it crowded and filthy. I have never seen so much trash on a beach. The hotel had been recently renovated but as in much of Italy the work never gets completed. The breakfast was adequate but when we arrived I observed the "fruit juice" in a cooling machine that was not on and it appeared to be the same juice in the machine the next morning which had not been kept refrigerated during the night. All in all I felt like the owner was trying to make a race horse out of a donkey. Not a place I would use again.

This hotel was a very good stop over for a tour of the northern end of the bay of Naples. Excellent little restaurant accross the road too! The area around the hotel isn't great as it is outside town beside a fairly busy road but thids was irrelivant to us as we were just looking for a base near the airport for the first of a 3 night break. The Gauro was all we required and more!

A good hotel in the wrong place. Is fine with a car and is perfect for those who want to explore naples without having to stay there (it's a dirty, grimy city and was nice to escape to the suburs for dinner). It's a 25 minute walk to the station at Pozzulli but the really easy to get into Naples. Great for the Autostrade / Tangenziale.
