The hotel Schlossgarten am Park is situated in the most beautiful part of Potsdam, that means vis-à-vis from the Sanssouci park, near the Fasanerie. The park, world cultural heritage from 1990, and the famous Schloss Sanssouci, summer residence of Frederick the Great, is a unique experience combining art, cultural and architectural history.
The hotel, approximately one hour by express train (S-Bahn) or 28 minutes by local train (Regionalbahn) from the metropolis of Berlin, is the ideal starting point to visit the historic quarters of the city like the Alexandrowka, the Holländisches Viertel and the Weberviertel.

This was the last night of a 10 day trip in eastern Germany and Prague and was the worst value for the money. We stayed in elsewhere Potsdam at the beginning of the trip and had a better value then. It's a decent hotel but secluded, meaning no restaurants in walking distance.

It's a nice and quite family hotel surrounded by parks. There's a train station just around the corner - I think you need to change once to get to Berlin city center or Tegel airport. I'd recommend it to anyone - if you're not in a hurry! :-)

By car
From the highway A1 Potsdam West drive towards Sanssouci.
From the highways A1 Potsdam Ost/A2 Potsdam Nord/A2 Potsdam Süd drive towards Sanssouci, Universität and Kaiserbahnhof.
By train
From the railway station of Potsdam take the local train (Regionalbahn) RE1 to Bahnhof/Park Sanssouci. The ride takes approximately 5 minutes.
By airplane
From Berlin Tegel airport take the shuttle bus to Zoologischer Garten, proceeding from there by the local train RE1 to Bahnhof/Park Sanssouci.
From Berlin Schönefeld airport take the local train RE1 to the Potsdam/Pirschheide station, switch over to bus line 695 and get off at Bahnhof/Park Sanssouci.
