The room was very nice but small. The view from the balcony was fantastic. Very close to restaurants. The owner spoke almost no English. Being off-season some local things were closed. We stayed two nights. If staying longer we'd want a bigger room.

Our night in Casa Guadagno was a wonderfull surprise. The morning view from our window was breath-taking beautifull. All the staff made us feel like we were in a family house. We will return to Positano and we will stay in Casa Guadagno, again!

Beautiful view from the hotel onto Positano town and bay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Familiar atmosphere. Our room was opposite of the entrance resulting in noise pollution at night. The pension is somewhat outside of the centre. Therefore local bus needed frequently.

Pensione Casa Guadagno won our praise for the AMAZING balcony and view we had from our room. It truly made this B&B stand out in our mind. The room was quite basic and not very spacious, with a fairly tiny bathroom. However, for the price we paid, it was clean and served its purpose of offering us a place to sleep while on vacation. We did have a bit of an ant problem (tiny ants) in our room, but when we brought up this issue to the family that runs the B&B they provided us something to plug into the wall to keep the ants away. Also, the family that runs the place is very friendly and attentive to any requests, but their English isn’t the best. Other B&B owners in Italy who could communicate more comfortably in English, were able to provide us with more information about the city/town we were staying in. Despite all of this, I would still highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Positano. Although, I would caution that it is quite the walk (uphill) from either of the beaches and the centre of the town (it is 400 steps to the quieter Il Fornillo beach – we just considered that our exercise for the day and it made us feel better about eating so much delicious gelato and pasta!). Finally, a restaurant called Ristorante Saraceno d'Oro is only minutes away and offered some of the best food that we had while on vacation in Italy.

This is a small, family-run pensione, not a hotel. The views were fabulous, the room was exceptionally quiet and the family was lovely. The room was very small for a double room but it had a little sunny balcony. There is no single rate, but for me the extra cost was worth it.

We cannot put into words how wonderful the staff is. Our luggage was lost by the airline and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The homemade croissants with Nutella were fantastic! It was about a 10-minute walk to the center of town.

A lovely place to stay. Very welcoming and pleasant staff. Rooms were spotles; bed was firm and comfortable. Ocean view from balcony. Tremendous value for the price in comparison to other hotel accommodations in Positano. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casa Guadagno to other budget-minded travellers.

We booked the 3 person room which was spacious and clean and had an outstanding view over the water. Whilst it is quite a climb from the main village and beach we found the location perfect with easy access from the road, close to the higher shops and restaurants and an exceptional view whilst having breakfast. Breakfast was simple but adequate and the staff very helpful and friendly. We thought it was excellent value but would always like softer beds and pillows!

The towels were a little thin and the hot and cold was tricky getting the right temp to stay for too long in the shower but that's how it goes in Europe. The girl at the front desk was a sweetheart her english was way better than my Italian but the conversation stuck to the esentials. You do have to pay in cash which isn't always expected so be prepaired. The views are some of the best around and for the price it would be very hard to beat.

We were 3 ladies traveling together and were satisfied with our accommodation. Look, it's a lot of stairs etc. but we knew that beforehand. You are a walk away (stiff one though) from the SITA bus stop but the Internal Busses stop close to your hotel. Rooms are old but clean, shower very small but clean. Had a lovely balcony with great views. Breakfast simple but good cappucino's and a fabulous croissant. Asked for boiled eggs by day three and got them for free::) Close walk to Mediterano restaurant which is great value and lovely atmosphere. Love Positano, love Ravello and Amalfi. Capri overrated and expensive. Good value for money, you get your own keys so you determine your own time coming in and going out. Remember, no TV, no radio and walls can be thin but I would definitely recommend to other travellers.

Very familiar atmosphere. The owners helped me all the time. I did not feel alone. Breakfast was marvellous, very good for my german taste. Very nice huge room with huge terrasse and top-view. Situation absolutly practically. I stayed 3 days alone in Positano in prolongation of one week walking along the Costiera amalfitana with a german group. I enjoyed Pensione Casa Guadagno and I will return soon.

Triple room with terrace with view of mountain and sea.Reasonably spacious, no TV though. No curtain in bathroom. Water spreads all on the floor after taking shower.Maybe draining is not good. No shampoo, but when we asked it, the reception staff gave it to us. Little away from the central. 15minutes walk (there is a bus service) Down the pension is the beach. maybe 10minitus walk in the steep steps. The location is a bit far from the center but quiet and relaxing. I think it is nice accomodation considering the price.

The view out to sea and over Positano from the room was stunning! You have to be reasonably fit to stay here as it's quite a steep hike down to the beach and the town centre, but well worth it for the view. Room was comfortable and clean with very friendly people running the pensione. Directions to the pensione were difficult to follow and the parking garage is the second on the right coming down the hill and not as stated on their web page. Driving in this area is not for the faint-hearted and we left the car in the garage for the three days until we left.

We were only able to stay in positano for one night, but we felt like this hotel was perfect. it was spotlessly clean, the views were incredible and the staff was so friendly, they really made us feel at home. Our room had a private terrace (i think all of the rooms might) with a small table and 2 chairs and then 2 lounge chairs as well and an unbelieve sea view. The bathrooms were larger than we expected and also very clean. This is a small property, but like I said earlier was perfect for what we were looking for and we would have liked to stay longer.

My brother, cousin, and I loved this hotel in Positano. It was up above the town, which was perfect due to the views and quietness. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful, the room clean, and the hotel beautiful. I would def stay here again!

Room was clean and adaquate. Bathroom fine. Breakfast was a bit limited. Positano is an expensive place and as the hotel has no parking it cost us 13 euros per day in a park about 200 yards fro hotel. Do not use unless fit. 420 steps fom the beach.

As this was our first trip to Positano, we didn't know what to expect. We were exhausted but were greeted with smiles. The room was small, but very clean and had beautiful views of the sea. There was no TV or radio in the rooms which would have been nice. The bathroom was well equiped and extremely clean. The doors/windows kept out a lot of noise and light, so much so that we overslept past breakfast the first night. However, the walls are very thin and it was easy to hear things going on above and next to us. We use earplugs, so we slept fine, and after all the walking up and down stairs that we did, we were well exhausted. The staff spoke enough English and me enough Italian for us to communicate. I don't know the man's name who lives there, but he was nice enough to give us a ride to the metro station on the day we left since he was already going to Naples. It saved us a lot of hassle. Breakfast was warm jelly filled croisants and warm bread with spreads, delicious juices and cappuccino. All in all it was a great stay.

What a great little hotel! The rooms aren't huge, but they were bright and airy and had wonderful balconies overlooking the sea. The bathroom was good sized. The hotel is right above Fornillo beach, the best beach in Positano. (Make sure you have lunch at Pupetto's - great food!). It's a little bit of a walk into the main part of town, but Positano is small, so it's not bad. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to leave our baggage at the hotel for hours after we checked out so we could continue to enjoy Positano while waiting for our driver later in the day. I would definitely return to Casa Guadagno and recommended it to anyone taking a trip to Positano.

I can not rate this accommodation high enough. We were in a triple room no. 6. Huge balcony and very clean. The accommodation is not right in the centre of Positano but the bus stops right at the entrance and takes you into the town in 5 to 6 minutes. Cost is €1.10 each way. Breakfast is usual fare for Italy, but the criossants were huge and hot. You can smell them being cooked in the morning. Coffee was excellent. The little bar was great each afternoon as well. There is a fridge in the room, and a little supermarket just down the road. No airconditioning, but the fan in the room was great. Stayed 6 days. Loved Positano and fell in love with the place.

Loved this hotel! The location was great - not far from the center of Positano, but far enough so that it was quieter, and right near the smaller (better, in my opinion) beach. The rooms were great, and the bathroom was huge. We had a great balcony overlooking the Mediterranean, and I believe all rooms did. The people running the hotel were very nice and very helpful. The value was very good as well. I would definitely stay here again and I would highly recommend this hote.

We had never been to Positano before and were pleasantly surprised with the Casa Guadagno. The family who ran the place were very welcoming and helpful, especially their restaurant recommendations. The room for us was neat and tidy with a nice little balcony overlooking the sea. The instructions given to us of how to get there by car were also the most helpful of all our travels around Italy. We found the car park and hotel in no time. There are lots of steps in Positano, which we didn't anticipate when hauling luggage, but the stay and the surrounds were worth it. The Casa Guadagno was away from the main centre of Positano which meant it was a little farther to walk into the tourist areas, but this also had it's advantages. The nights were quiet and we slept very well each night. All in all I'd say a very pleasant stay.

I cannot recommend Pensione Guadagno enough. We booked a triple room that was really spacious and came with a beautiful shared terrace. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with piping hot croissants and freshly made coffee on a sunny roof terrace. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and friendly. We plan to return to Positano soon and will definitely book here again. Excellent all over.

For our 5 day stay in Naples and Almafi coast, this hotel was the friendliest with the most welcoming staff, and by a long shot. We got a whole lot of useful information on Positano that we didn't especially ask for. Parking in Positano was expensive (€20 for one day), but the car park's not linked to the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Guadagno. Lovely clean and bright/airy rooms with amazing view of sea and great balcony. It's in a nice part of Positano too - slightly away from the busy/noisy central part but still in great location and closer to the nicer/quieter beach. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the breakfast was perfect. Would recommend this to anyone going to Positano.

A great choice in Positano. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was actually like staying in someone's home. The staff was very warm and helpful. They gave great direction for where to go in town and tours. There is a very nice beach within minutes. Excellent value for the price in an otherwise expensive town.
