Great place at affordable price. The best place for beach users. View is unbeatable in superior room. Breakfast is acceptable but nothing special. Room decor is very poor. If weather is good this is the best place to stay overall.

Fantastic location. Easy to get down to the beach, and only a short work to the centre of Positano. Staff were fantastic!!!! Room was basic, but very serviceable and clean. View off the balcony was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel. Location was perfect and the view from our balcony was amazing. The view from the breakfast room is pretty impressive as well. Lift straight down to Fornillo Beach was key. Cristina and Patrizia at reception were very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

1. No direct acess to the hotel by car possible. (you need a porter: 2 € per item. 2. Parking lot: you have to advice them at least 2 hours in before hand, in order go get the car 3. Difficult to find because an indication for parking and another for the hotel. 4. Only a breakfest room w. terrasse. No further facilities 5. Poor room: no air cond., no fan. Bath tub without shower-curtain. 6. Over all only a 2-star hotel/pension (but for about € 200 (if you include parking/beach). Postive: friendly staff! 5.

We have been to Positano many times and other locations on the Costa Amalfitana. We would have to say that this was one of the better locations that we have stayed at in Positano in that it is above Fornillo Beach with beach access and rights (via elevators). Fornillo Beach is right next to the main beach in Positano but with less crowds and easy access to the town via a 5 min walk along a wide paved path on the coast. It is a very easy and romantic walk too and is a nice way to make you way back home after a dinner or gelato! The hotel itself is down several sets of steps off the main road. It is quiet and clean and breakfast on the veranda offers nice views of the water, flora and fauna. Our room was simple but very clean. The size was well above average for most hotels in Italy which was nice. Our room also had a small but nice balcony overlooking the water. When we come back to Positano, we will most like not look elsewhere but rather book and stay at Hotel Vittoria!

The staff was very nice and helped us to bring our luggage from a nearby parking lot located before the hotel. It is hard to find and is better call the hotel before the arrival. We had a side sea view and everything can be considered good for the price we payed. The breakfast is served in a terrace with a nice sea view. They give you a 10% discount at the restaurant in a hotel of the same owner at the beach. AS the hotel doesn´t have internet,it is necessary to go to the beach hotel and pay 6 euros per hour to use theirs computers.

Great hotel friendly and helpful staff this hotel had the elevator down to beach which saved a heap of walking. Our room was very spacious and the balcony huge the view perfect. Breakfast was ample and the service great. We had to carry our cases down 74 steps and i was dreading the return trip up the steps but we found out that they have a porter service so for 3 euros for each case it was worth every bit( i gave him 10 euros for the 2 )I only wish i had known before i got to the hotel The only thing i would suggest is ear plugs for bed time because as beautiful as our hotel and Positano was you have no control of the dogs that bark all night and early morning I would recommend this hotel for its overall location and quality. The rooms are pricey but for us it was worth it .

Paid extra for one of the rooms with a premium view. Very large room with a/c, with large balcony shared with two other rooms (but we never saw the other occupants). Great view of the bay around Positano. The lift down to the beach was very close and this also made getting to the centre of Positano and boat connections very easy. Hotel Vittoria also has a restaurant over looking Positano's western beach and you get a 10% discount - we ate there every night as they were spot on for home-made pasta and wood-fired pizzas - and were great value for money. Very impressed overall, and the rooms were kept very clean. My only fault is the lack of a fridge in the room - the thought of sitting out on the balcony with a glass of chilled prosecco would have made it perfect! (however there is a larger room (4 person?) next door with a kitchenette that probably has that facility). Thanks for stay, I'm sure we'll be back :-)

Was felt very welcome at Vittoria, and we spent some time on our beautiful balconny, overlooking the sea. Our room was spacious and cleaned every day. On bad side the double bed was two singles put together. Breakfast was simple, but ok. Remember to ask for refrigirator if you have a supperior room.

This hotel is excellent, and the best part (apart from the amazing beachfront location and sea views) is that is has a lift from the beach level right up to the top where the hotel is. The Restaurant Pupetto downstairs on the beachfront is not to be missed, the amazing food and value for money is excellent. Getting to the hotel is tricky, we got ripped off by a taxi driver from Amalfi who dropped us at the top of the cliffs of the main beach, and Vittoria is on the smaller beach, quite a walk away (especially when there are a million steps, steep descents and you have big heavy suitcases). But once you get there, it is amazing.

This was my first trip to Positano and, weather aside, I absolutely loved it! The hotel was very well situated with beach access close by and only a short walk to the center. The only downside was that there was a major storm one night and some of the balcony doors were banging from the wind, which didn't allow for a good night's sleep. Other than that, the hotel was great, the staff was very helpful, and the city was beautiful. I'll be back for sure!

Excellent situation with a superb network of lifts and paths to the waterfront, excellent stay in May when the beach bars were just opening up for the summer. The bathroom was a bit small & basic, this was the only reason for not giving it a 10 overall. Make sure you book the luggage collection & delivery service, well worth the 3 Euros a case! Enjoy

We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Vittoria, the rooms were very spacious with balconies with a wonderful view. The hotel has a system of elevators to take you directly to the beach which is very handy. The hotel staff were very friendly, who walked us to our rooms. They even chilled some champagne we had brought and gave us some glasses so we could drink it on the balcony of our room. The breakfast was a very good continental breakfast with yummy cappacinos made for you. Overall we had a wonderful time at Hotel Vittoria.

This is a fantastic property if you are looking for great value and great location. Rooms are fairly small but quite adequate and having a terrace makes it feel larger. Hotel is close to some good value restaurants. Only negative is the steps from the road to the hotel - thank god they have porters (that you tip separately) but definitely no good for anyone who struggles with steps or has limited mobility. I cant recommend this hotel highly enough for offering excellent value - I will be staying there again!

I had a great stay at Hotel Vittoria. The only problem was the 4 or so flights of staircases that I had to carry my suitcase down to reach the hotel. Since I was travelling by myself, it was difficult to bring my suitcase down or call for assistance from the road. Otherwise, the hotel is lovely, clean and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The private elevator to the beach and pathway to the main town is easily accessible and the pathway to the main town is very picturesque. I highly recommend this hotel for travellers to Positano.

When we opened the french doors of our room to the balcony, the view that greeted us left us breathless. The lift down to the private beach was so convenient and the location was far enough and close enough to the main area of Positano. The trail walk from the hotel to the main centre was a pleasant discovery after trying to negotiate the road and its traffic, not only is it easier, but make sure you take time to really soak in the views on the way. Saraceno dÓro Ristorante, situated just around the corner of the hotel has the best pizzas in ALL of Italy!! We will definately choose Vittoria again when next visiting Positano. If I have to make a negative, it would be the lack of a shower screen, made showering a bit messy, but this is so inconsequential when you balance out the whole experience of the place

This review apllies to the room we were upgraded to. The Room we got was nothing like what we booked... We went out onto the Balcony to take in the view and our whole left side we had a cliff facing us... then directly infront of us there was a massive tree then we had to look across the other shared balcony's to see some water... and the little garden on the end of the balcony was completely dead. the bathroom facilities were at least 40 years old and then the toilet didnt flush properly, it kept swirling and fecal matter could not be pushed down.. the only soloution to this was to use the toilet brush and push it through manually, we complained to the concierge and he said he would get someone on to it right away. After hearing no news on a repair man a day later we went back and there was a different concierge and she would not help us at all. eventually we had to get upset in order for her to call someone. she called the maid and the maid told us just push it through with the brush... and presto! after boiling on this for a couple of hours we decided we didnt travel all the way from Australia to Positano to be treated like this... so we went back to reception and the concierge from the day before was back. and we told him that if something was not done we were taking our business elsewere, and he upgraded our room. The Upgraded room is 100000 times better then the crappy room we were put in and with this room you had a undisturbed view of the water a larger balcony space, although the balcony was still shared it was 3 times larger than the other rooms. and the view is completely breath taking so for just a bit more if your going to stay at this hotel please go the upgraded room as the other double rooms will surely dissapoint... Its just a shame how you can never change a first impression... and if it wasnt for being upgraded this would have been a completely negative review.

We loved our stay at the Vittoria although we didn't have high expecations because of the reviews we had read on the site. The location of the hotel is excellent and we managed to find it easily. The lift down to the Hotel Pupetto and the beach was greatly appreciated and we were glad that other people had commented on it in their reviews. At the time you don't think the walking will bother you but when you are returning to your room during the day it could become tiresome - so the fact that the lift was there was wondeful. The staff were absolutely wonderful - very sweet and genteel and always wanting to help in any way they could. We found a lovely little restaurant at the top of the hill - Restaurant Fornillo where we had a great meal. Also the delicatessan in town - opposite the cake shop and up a flight of stairs was exceptional. Great for cheap lunches and some of the nicest food we had in Italy. The hotel is run down and in need of doing up but we wanted a view of Positano and we had an amazing view with our own balcony. The price was expensive and we found out later that there were cheaper places to stay that had a view and had better facitlities but we still had a great time and were relatively happy with the hotel. Breakfast was good too.

Positano is an absolutely beautiful place and the Hotel Vittoria fits right in. If you drive then don’t take anything larger than a Fiat Punto as the roads are tiny and full of buses but I suppose that pertains to the whole Amalfi Coast. There is a dedicated hotel car park a short walk away and a porter service is provided, however as with everything it comes at a cost; €13 per day for parking and €3 per bag for the porter, but believe me the porter earns every cent. You will also need to give a half hours notice before you require your car. The pictures of the rooms on the website do not do them justice, although stuck firmly in the 70’s they are huge. We stayed in a double supreme and it was more like an apartment than a room, with a large double bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen, reception area, conservatory and big balcony over looking the town and beach below. The hotel is quite a long way above the beach, which is great for the views but there are a lot of steps to go up if you forget your sun block. Luckily the hotel has a private lift that drops you right down by the beach, but more importantly it takes you back to the top, much to the envy of the panting multitude struggling up the stairs. Bearing that in mind it is only a ten minute walk to the town centre where there are restaurants a plenty. I would advise you headed away from the beach if you want value for money but no matter where we went the menus were similar and the food fantastic, it is only the price that varies. In short we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone heading to Positano.

My stay was fantastic. I even extended my length of time. Positano does have a lot of stairs, so the lift down to the beach was very nice. When you arrive, if you have luggage that you do not want to take down the large sum of stairs, you can go to the parking area for this hotel and pay someone to take your luggage for you. This was a life saver for me. The view from the breakfast patio is amazing and the staff were very helpful.

Amazingly located – down a winding alleyway; one of very few hotels in Positano (no matter how many stars) not facing straight onto the road. If arriving by car, directions are not very good. Take turn for Positano Centro, then about ½ mile down steep road, shaded parking for hotel is on the right. Don’t go any further, as it’s one way, and a long way round. Parking 13Euro/day. Parking will organise a porter to take you to the hotel (necessary – to find it, as well as to get bags down steps). The hotel is old fashioned, but clean and quiet, with great views. Breakfast in hotel, but bar and restaurant are in sister hotel Il Pupetto on the beach at the bottom of the lifts (bit misleading in description). Lifts run 24h. Two sunbeds + umbrella 12Euro/day on the beach, good swimming, beach quieter than main beach. Lovely walk along the back of the beach to the town (quicker than by road). You may get better (or more modern) quality at the Royal Humdinger, but the Vittoria is quiet and well sited. One of the best places to stay on the Amalfi coast, as far as we could see. Enjoy it!

Hotel Vittoria greatly exceeded our expectations. Every room has a beautiful view of the ocean and a patio or balcony. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. If you stay in Positano, be prepared for lots of walking with hills and stairs. Hotel Vittoria is no exception - it is a bit of a walk from the main road, but two elevators make the transition from beach level to high on the cliff an easy transition.

The best quality of the room was the balcony overlooking the opposing private residences. No shower curtain made for a bit of a mess and if expecting hot water don't hold your breath. Two of the front desk staff were outstanding the other marginal. Cristina was helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to make our stay pleasant. The gentleman serving breakfast was superb. His friendly personality, prompt service, attention to detail, and worlds best cappucino made-up for the shortcomings.

Hotel Vittoria was a dream! The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood just outside (but still well within walking distance) of central Positano. There are two main ways to reach the hotel--one from the bus stop at the top of the town, and one via the walking path along the water from downtown Positano--and both are beautiful and slightly less-traveleled than some of the touristy areas in central Positano. The views from our terrace were beautiful; we overlooked the steep slope of the residential neighborhood of Fornillo and the ocean. The hotel staff were friendly and very knowledgeable; they gave us great restaurant recommendations and tips on getting around town. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful.

Hotel location is excellent, with balcony views over the Amalfi Coast. The walkway around to Positano town is very scenic and a great walk. The restaurant in the hotel below was very good, with friendly staff. Meals were good. The view from the breakfast room balcony was excellent. A pretty villa sited on a high outcropping overlooking the town of Amalfi, our room was styled with taste and true flair, I suspect by a professional Italian interior decorator. Currently under renovation and construction, which does detract from the beauty of the exterior, I think it will be stunning once completed. The staff is extremely friendly and competent, making our stay a pleasure. Compared to the other hotels in town, this one has an unique, non-commercial feel to it. While some might prefer the modern, packaged "family" hotels, for those looking for something genuinely Italian and unique, I highly recommend a few days at Hotel Victoria.

We were probably very fortunate and managed to have the best room in the hotel with large picture window overlooking view and shared huge terrace. Staff were extremely friendly and hotel enjoyed a good atmosphere. Please advise interested parties that the steps from the parking garage up the road are very considerable and they should telephone from garage to hotel for porter assistance. Altogether very good value and worth the effort and the beach restaurant of affiliate hotel offered excellent value for money with charming helpful staff.

hotel vittoria was the highlight of our trip in italy;we chose to stay 4 nights thereand it was difficult to leave. i reccommend to all to stay awhile in one place for the greatest experience. we also did this in paris andit was great. other places in sicily + souther france were short and we did not really get the sense of the place in our 3 week trip. our favorite sound in positano was awakening 1sst to the roosters at dawn and dogs barking and then the sound of the people getting on with their day. at night the sound of the people and the visitors such as ourselves enjoying the september evening and exquisite food at any restaurant we found. spending the day at the beach connected with hotel vittoria and pulpetto was wonderful. we'd rent our chair and umbrella for the day and be able to come and go thanks to the lifts and paths up to our rooms or the path to town to shop. the excellent service at the beach bar made for great lunches with the freshest fish and glorious lemoncello to refresh our spirits. "vitto" and the staff down at the beach bar were great. we met people from around the world at that beach as well as local's born in positano and small towns south on the amalfi who returned each year to visit family. this hotel really fit our needs since 1 of our 4 was less able and couldn't tolerate the sun much. the lifts and covered beach restaurants and great beach chairs made her welcome also. we were able to take the car and go sightseeing along the amalfi, to sorrento and pompei suring our stay. the staff at the desk especially "tony" were welcoming and kind since we had little ability to speak italian. he brought us wonderful bottles of wine to our terrace before supper! and the pizza and other dishes at the pulpetto restaurant connected to vittoria were fabulous. the only "con" may have been driving in late from rome and secured parking is up the street. we had to schelp our bags down alot of stairs to find the hotel desk that first night. of course when

The elevator from the beach to hotel was a nightmare!! On the first day it stopped and it went totally dark. The alarm didn't work and there was no telephone in the elevator. Our cellphones didn't work because we were surrounded by the cliff. I was convinced that this was the place were I should die. After three minutes that felt like an eternity the electricity was on again. We were terrified every time we had to use the elevator during our four days. We arrived at the Hotel Vittoria a day earlier than we scheduled and they were able to accommodate us no problem. The room we were in the first night was VERY small and the bathroom was old and uncomfortable, but we were moved on the second night of our stay to a HUGE room with a very large balcony on a higher floor that was much cleaner with a larger bathroom and better view. Overall, we expected more for what we paid (160 euro/night, plus 13 euro to park per day), considering we had a spectacular 4 star hotel (Antiche Mura) in Sorrento for the same price. The decor in the hotel was sparse and what was there was dated. Location was not near the main beach area although there was a lift to a second beach. Overall, I think you can find something more centrally located in Positano that is more updated for this price. We thought, for a 3 star property, it was lacking.

Old hotel could do with a bit of modernisation of the bedrooms. Beautiful views of the resort and sea from our bedroom and the breakfast room - where a generous buffet was laid out. Built into the cliffs meant there were alot of steps down to the hotel so do consider flagging down one of the many porters that are part of life in pedestrian friendly Positano. Would definetely go back but with a smaller case next time!!

The first thought I had was this should be regraded as a 2 star accomodation. The only thing of any value was the view, but it positano this isn't hard to find. I couldn't recommend the poor quality of this hotel to anyone. It had no personality or soul.

We LOVED Positano, and found the town to have the perfect balance of all the charming characteristics of the Amalfi Coast. Hotel Vittoria is in a great location. We arrived at sunset, and wandered on the lit pathways towards the main beach. Romantic and enchanting. The surroundings were great. Our balcony was very large and had a terrific view. The staff were all very friendly and engaging. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but stop by the bar in the evenings. There were so many great restaurants to try throughout the town, and we never had a bad meal. Our room was very nice, especially for the price. The shower was one of those with no curtain, and a bit awkward to use. The breakfast area was nice and the service terrific. We felt fortunate to find Vittoria, and we can't stop thinking about Positano!

Access to Vittoria can be from the street above (via quaint back pathways & steps) or from the beach (via short tunnel and 2 elevators). Travelers arriving by boat should consider the lower route, including a nice walk along a gently sloping coastal sidewalk from the pier to the spiaggio Fornillo. Our room was blissfully quiet in a town that's otherwise frenetic & touristy. Very good choice.

Beautiful view and nice, helpful staff. The room was very nice. A bit hard to find. After getting lost and asking for directions, had to park in a private lot a ways away at 13 euros a day, and walk quite a way to the hotel. Great location though, and absolutely breathtaking views from the room. Good breakfasts, too. Great value. Posted map is not very clear.

My husband and I loved staying here. Positano is wonderful and the Vittoria was a great place to enjoy it. We stayed in a spacious superior double room with a sun room and a huge common terrace overlooking the sea and coastline. The staff, breakfasts, dining room, and restaurant were all very good. The location is great as well. It's in a quieter part of town, is an easy walk downhill into "town," a close little grocery (we went there everyday for wine, cheese, bread, etc.), elevator to the beach, and a lovely trail to walk along the cliffs back from town. Our friends stayed in a triple room upstairs that was smaller but still nice with a terrace. We would definitely go back!

We enjoyed our overnite stay at the Hotel Vittoria - even though the weather was not cooperative. We had dinner at the nearby hotel that was on the beach - food was great. We'd recommend it even though the hotel is a bit of a walk down stairs from where you park your car.

I loved this place. The location is great and their facilities were great. Lift to the beach and to a great restaurant. The people were very nice, and most spoke very good English. Food was good for breakfast, always a plus. Would stay there again especially for the price.

This hotel was wonderful. Our best of the trip. The breakfast was better than average as well. The room was perfect especially the balcony from which you could see the town and the ocean. The price for a beer at the private beach was only 1.80Euro. I recommend this hotel for sure. The town of Positano was perfect as well. We could have stayed there longer.

The hotel is in a gorgeous position, with the right room providing breathtaking views out across the bay of Positano. It benefits enormously from having a fine restaurant, bar and beach-side cafe, whose staff are extremely efficient and welcoming. The beach-side facilities are excellent too, with very comfortable beds available in a private setting, in fact everything you need for the perfect day 'catching the rays'. This location has everything for the discerning traveller. As a base from which to explore the magnificent Amalfi coastline and nearby Capri, it would seem impossible to better. A return visit cannot come too soon.

Wonderfully located with fantastic views and really friendly staff. The private balconies allowed us to make the most of the outlook, as did the restaurant where a very good breakfast was served. Definitely very good value for money.

This hotel was one of the best on our 5 week trip in Italy. The positives were: reception, room space with deck, location to town, dock, groceries(wine), location to dining, great breakfast and fantastic view. We met on our deck a wonderful young international family to share the positives of the hotel and area. We would recommend this Hotel to anyone staying in Positamo. As far as the Amalfi Coast goes, Positamo is the best.

Wir hatten ein hübsches Zimmer mit einem grandiosen Blick über das Meer. Über den kleinen Fußweg entlang der Felsen war es angenehm und nicht weit (10 min) zur City und dem Hafen.

Magnificent view. Very nice rooms. Stony, but nice beach. We spent some time finding the hotel when we first arrived. A more detailed description of the location would have been appreciated. The we got was not air-conditioned, even though the web site said it should be. We had some trouble explaining that to the non-English-speaking receptionist. The problem was solved by a “mobile” (and extremely noisy) air-condition-box. We had a great stay at Vittoria and in Positano.

The staff was very helpful and cordial. The location was OK, you have to carry you stuff a long was up to catch the bus. The facilities were pretty good, including an elevator to the beach. The breakfast was very filling not those puny continental types. I would stay there again. The only problem was that the gallery was a bit unclean. The view was so so.

Hotel Vittoria was a wonderful place to stay and I will recommend it to friends/family going to Positano. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the views from the room terraces are magnificent. It is a quick trip to the beach via two elevators and through the Hotel Puppeto. It was nice not staying in the more crowded Piagge Grande area. I look forward to a return trip.

The hotel was comfortable, but basic. The sea view from the balcony which was promised did exist, but only from one very restricted spot at the edge. Our request for ice was refused and our even bottle of Prosecco had be cooled in cold water! The location is difficult to approach with luggage because of steep steps. The breakfast was minimal, but charmingly served in a lovley dining room. The staff were friendly and the manager very helpful and kind except over ice! The very great joy was the lift system taking one down to the beach and with a good path to the centre of the town. The beach chairs were expensive at 6 euros each for a day. We had a splendid holiday with a comfortable clean bed
