Our first night seafood meal was average. The room was clean but a little small for the three of us. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and had many selections, and we especially enjoy the coffee and cappuccino. Other than the long hike up and down to center of town, it was an enjoyable stay.

Pupetto hotel in a very pretty location right next to the ocean. View from balcony beautiful. Many steps down to reach hotel (about 70). Buffet breakfast was very good. Room simple, small and clean. Hotel a little pricey with extra for internet.

After dragging our luggage through small sloping streets and stairs we finally arrived at Pupetto to be pleasantly suprised with the peace and calm of the position. The staff where very helpful and we wished we had booked longer. Would highly recommend this Hotel.

The hotel is well situated in private beach in Positano. The way between the hotel and dowtown goes throug the cliffs with a wonderfull view from the sea. From our room the view of the sea was very nice. However, the hotel had some negative aspects. The bathroom lacked some important devices to give comfort to the gests, such as towel racks and a box for the shower. The quality of the towel was rather poor. The breakfast was also disapointing. While we were there the sea was infested with 'medusas', a very poisonous animal which by the simple touch with any part of the human body can produce severe burnings. Unaware of this I went to swimm without being told of this danger. The result was that my body received several burnings from this creatures, which lasted more than two weeks to start healing. My evaluation of the situation is that the hotel service failed to give me this simple advice. Maybe because of this I would not return to this place.

We chose pupetto based on the reviews I had read,We are totally in love with the place. It was heaven the view from our room, the view from the breakfast terrace, the restaurant on the beach. The walk to the main beach particulary at night in the moonlight was dreamy. It was nice being on the quieter beach. We will defnitely go back again there is a lot of day trips you could do from here. We caught a ferry to Amalfi and then bus to Ravello the view from villa Cimbrone is breathtaking! We could have done more but it was so nice just to be here we didnt get around to it, so will have to come again! The staff were realy great I got sick and they were not only helpful but asked me how I was days later, real family atmosphere. We counted the steps to get our luggage back to the bus stop 95 if you go the lift way only 54 if you go back via the main beach! You must purchase bus ticket from a tabachhi for the Sorrento bus they dont sell on board. The local bus does sell on board. Best place we have stayed in Europe!

We felt the rooms were a bit "tired" - inadequate shower facility, damage to some fittings, double bed was in fact 2 single beds pushed together, paintwork scrappy. All in all, the place needs some refurbishment. Great location though !

The hotel's location is magnificent - a short walk to "town" (Positano) along a beautiful pathway. Extraordinary service from an excellent staff. The restaurant has very good food at reasonable prices. Our visit was memorable.

ROOMS QUITE BIG, VERY CLEAN, BEAUTIFUL VIEWS. WAS VERY HOT FOR OUR STAY (3RD AUG, 2008)AND WAS VERY SURPRISED THAT THE AIR-CON WAS TURNED OFF AUTOMATICALLY BETWEEN 1-3PM AND 8-10PM EACH DAY. COULD'T LIE ON BEACH CHAIRS AS THEY WERE RESERVED. COST WAS 7EURO PER DAY. QUITE A LONG WALK TO MAIN CENTRE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT WAS SO HOT. ACCESS VERY DIFFICULT THROUGH ANOTHER HOTEL.

Bellissimo, a beautiful hotel, with great staff, good location, divine food, staff always very helpful and efficient. The location is great, the beach is very clean and its only a short walk to the main part of Positano for a variety of restaurants nightlife and shopping. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for families or singles

We loved Pupetto's separateness from the busy shopping areas of Positano. Yet it has easy access to the shops and ferries. We also loved the constant sound of waves rolling onto the beach. Pupetto and its staff provide a homely relaxedness which allows one to unwind and have a rest.

We stayed in Positano for 1 week (end of June 07). The hotel is right on the beach which was wonderful. It is on the small beach in Positano. A five minute walk to the main beach is easily accessible from the cliff walkway. I would recommend staying at this hotel because of the price and location. It is the only hotel in Positano directly on the beach. The other hotels are fancier and bigger with nicely dressed staff, but for the value, this is the place. 200 euros for a night compared to 400-700 at other places and they aren't on the beach. The restaurant and beach bar was very good as well. The drawback is the walk down the stairs to the hotel. You have to enter through their other 'sister' hotel to get to the elevator. Get the porter and pay him if you have to. But in Positano it is all stairs unless your staying down by the beach. The higher up you go in town the better the view. But remember you have to walk down and up everyday to get to the beach. It was a pain for most of the other people. The rooms were small but efficient. Bed and bathroom and small TV. No frills but the price and location are right.

Even though it is not an easy access when you get to the hotel the first time there is a trail to take you to town that is very easy and convenient. Isolated from the noise but close enough to enjoy the town. The personnel was very nice and helpful

We stayed there Sep 30-Oct 4 2006. The hotel has a great location in Positano- away from the noisy center and traffic yet only 5 min walk to the center and the main beach (and the walkway is above the sea- romantic and beautiful.) The rooms have balconies and amazing water views. The beach is nice but you have to pay 7 euro pp per day, there is a beach bar and hotel restaurant is quite good

Overall Pupetto is a good hotel in an excellent location (in a secluded bay away from the main beach) The public areas are a little tired & in need of refurbishment. Our room was spacious, clean & comfortable although we would have prefered a double bed as opposed to the 2 single beds together. However this was more than compensated for by the amazing view from the balcony. Breakfast was plentiful & again restaurant has a wonderful view out to sea. VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE - is do request directions to Pupetto before arrival, there is a lift down to the hotel, via the Victoria hotel but it is important to know which bus stop to get off from for the least amount of hassle with luggage. There is an excellent restaurant, very near to the Pupetto, which is just along the coast path heading to the main part of Positano. All in all an excellent base for visiting the Amalfi coast.

We simply loved the Pupetto. It is run by a lovely family whose members were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel - on a private beach with wonderful views of the sea -was fabulous. Each of the 5 nights we stayed there we ate in its covered, open air restaurant overlooking the water. The food was first rate. If we ever return to Positano we will most certainly stay at the Pupetto.

We have stayed at more luxurious and better appointed hotels, but nothing can compare to the magnificence and beauty of Hotel Pupetto's location. The hotel is situated right on the water's edge with a semi-private beach and convenient access to the main areas of Positano and the ferry pier. To go to sleep with balcony door open listening to the seductive sounds of the Mediterrainean made it all the more romantic. We will long remember our delightful stay at Hotel Pupetto on the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Our only word of caution relates to travel from Sorrento to Positano; the ferry is probably a better option than the bus, which can be crowded; it is a 20 minute walk from the station to the ferry pier in Sorrento, but only 10 minutes from the ferry to Pupetto once you get to Positano.

Great Location, right on the beach. Easy to find (just follow the signs). Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was big and the views from the room were spectacular. Athough it is not in the main bay of Positano it is only a short walk from the main shopping area.

The location and setting cant be beaten, absolutley beautiful. Better to be near the water. Check with the hotel about the ferry services from Naples to book the right ferry. If using the bus service from Amalfi or Sorrento make sure to ask the bus driver to tell you where to get off for Positano. Sunsets wereun beliveable.

I would stay there again. Good location, right on the beach. Staff was very helpful and friendly. View was great. Room was very clean, but I would rate rooms as just adequate. Kind of sparce. Bathroom was a good size, but I don't understand why showers don't have a curtain to keep water from going all over the floor. Seems this is the case in most hotels in Italy. Thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Pupetto. We found the parking and lifts to the hotel quite easily and didn't need the help of porters. The location is great being on the much quieter beach at Positano and definately preferable to being halfway up the hill. The price seems expensive but is probably what you have to pay in that area and worth it for the great position. Our only quibble is that we didn't have a terrace off our family room whereas most of the other rooms did.

We were extremely pleased with Hotel Pupetto. The location is outstanding, right on the beach with balconies overlooking the sea, and a very easy walk into town. I didn't see any other hotel that i would have preferred for a location, this was an easy walk to town, but no traffic or noise around the hotel. Just perfect. Their restaurant is excellent and the waiters and staff are very friendly and helpful. Of all the little towns along the amalfi coast, we were happy we had selected Positano and the Pupetto. Both had a lot to offer. Excellent. I highly recommend this hotel and it's restaurant.

We visited in mid-November, clearly off-season, and had a spacious room with a queen and a single in the main room and another single bed in a large alcove (probably generally a seating area) facing a large window looking out on the balcony and the sea. It had a large, beautifully tiled bathroom. Breakfasts included excellent croissants, other breads, meats and cheese and fresh fruits. The dining room was closed for the season but several restaurants were still open. The days were warm and crisp, perfect hiking weather, the beaches were good for strolling. The hotel's location is right on the beach and the promenade is a short and pleasant walk to the main harbor area. I recommend visiting Italy in October and November as it is much less crowded and the weather is far more pleasant, tho it can rain.

Thoroughly rcommend Pupetto and its staff. Excellent hotel on Fornillo beach ( not main beach) with good parking high up the hill ( 13 Euro/day) convenient to the 2 lifts which take you directly to Pupetto. A porter is on hand to help with bags. Topography of Positano means it's much better to stay down at beach level and take the hotel lift up to the more elevated parts of town when you want to rather than staying high up and having to walk up & down daily to the beach/shops/ restaurants. It's a 7 minute stroll from Pupetto to the main Positano beach and shops. This path is well lit at night. The very helpful staff handled all our queries efficiently - including making calls on our behalf and were welcoming at all times. We only ate breakfast in the hotel and this was more than adequate served on the terrace overlooking the beach. Hotel also offers broadband internet access on 3 terminals at low rates. We enjoyed our 5 day stay and would happily return.

We were very happy in Puppetto. Location is gorgious, staff very nice. The way to the hotel was easy to find but quite a way to walk with luggage. Since you can use 2 elevators to get to the hotel it is about 5 minutes walk from the parking to the first elevator. Since there are some steps, the way back ist hard if you are not good in walking. But the location and the view in Positano is worth it. The parking itself is very good, guarded and friendly staff

My only complaint is that the only way to access the Hotel is by way of a long, steep walk down 85 steps and 2 elevator rides. Anyone with a lung condition would find it very difficult.

It is a very nice hotel located on the beach. Parking (13,00 Euros per day) is quite distant. You also have to leave the keys in the car. The hotel can only be reached on foot. So, if you have many bags (or heavy ones), do not even think of not calling the porter for help! You will have to go down many stairs and ramps before reaching the front desk when you arrive (imagine when you leave, which will be the opposite way !). Rooms are very good, clean, spacious, with very nice sea view and the sound of waves (to help you sleep). Excellent restaurant! We had a very good wood-oven baked pizza. The smell of the seafood dishes that passed near us was also very good. The downtown area can be reached via a walking path, surrounded by the sea, in about 10 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel. Caffe Positano (on Viale Pasitea nearby) is a very nice place to have a snack, lunch or just a beer with a breathtaking view.

This was my second stay at Pupetto although the first time was in March so I didn't experience any real beach activities on the first visit. The hotel is right on the beach with all the amenities. I was surpised quests of the hotel had to pay for beach chairs and towels. The beach snack bar was great and the hotel restaurant has excellant food, we ate there almost every night. Getting to the hotel is a bit difficult so pack lite. 70 stairs and a heavy suitcase don't make for a fun vacation and we had to carry those bags ourselves. I absolutely recommend this hotel and will stay there again on my next visit to Positano.

Very clean with polite and helpful staff. Simple rooms with a convenient restaurant in the lobby. I highly recommend this hotel. One should know that Positano is located on the side of a mountain and that walking hills is necessary to reach the main part of town or parking. Hotel Pupetto is located on the beach with a nice walkway to town. There is parking available and a porter can help you with your luggage. The parking however is located some distance away, and as with most hotels, requires you to climb stairs. We had a double room (two beds) with an incredible ocean view overlooking the beach. I would check to ensure you have a similar view since this was one of the most attractive aspects of this hotel. Enjoy your Positano trip! TW

I highly recommend Hotel Pupetto to anyone staying in Positano. Just realize that it's not an easy place to get to. The web site could be clearer about how to get to the hotel...i.e. a ferry from Naples is better than a ferry from Salerno. You should consider the time of your arrival and departure to make sure it works with the ferry schedules/trains/flights. But, once you are at Pupetto, you will never want to leave. The restaurant is EXCELLENT as well.
