This is a beautiful hotel with a friendly helpful staff and nicely situated. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony and excellent sea view. You do have to walk down (and up) many steps to get into town but it is expected since the entire town is on a hill. The Miramare has two "sister" hotels where restaurants are recommended - Next 2 and the Palazzo. While the Palazzo atmosphere was beautiful the food was just average but Next 2 - uphill from the hotel - was amazing. The breakfast at the hotel was very nice as well. We would definetly stay here again and Positano was a highlight.

First time in Positano, and Hotel Miramare was fantastic. We found it to be quite affordable for the gorgeous room and beautiful ocean view terrace.

The hotel, staff, and room were all very good. The view from my hotel room was postcard perfect - just amazing. The hotel's only negative is that it's not on street level, and luggage has to be carried down multiple stairs to reach the hotel's entrance. Thankfully a porter is available to carry bags back up to street level upon departure (and thoroughly deserves to be tipped!)

Excellent hotel staff. The hotel should make more use of their bar and lounge, possibly Happy Hours & Wine & Cheese tastings since the hotel is lovely. Try Ristorante Lo Guarracino located on cliff path below the Miramare or Tre Serrelo down at the beach.

Miramare is an unbelievably beautiful, comfortable hotel. I had eyes on this property for years and when I finally was able to travel to Italy staying at the Miramare was our priority. It did not disappoint. It exceeded any expectation I had. Rosita and Nicola are wonderful. Trust them. Rosita's recommendations for dining were spot on. She loves what she does and the Miramare guests know and feel it. So refreshing and relaxing.

This was our first visit to Positano and we spent a wonderful five days in the town and visiting the Almafi coast and surrounding area. It was a fantastic and most relaxing holiday made all the more special by the people at the Hotel Miramare. Rosita in particular is a gem and she made us feel most welcomed and very special. We will return!

We were upgraded to room 210. The balcony was great. The room was too HOT. There is no way to enjoy the room when it is hot. It finally cooled off at 3am. They need to upgrade their AC units (at least in room 210). It could be just broken.

You won't find a more beautiful hotel for this rate. Execellent front desk help. Great included breakfast with breathtaking views from the restaurant. All rooms have sea view balcony with table, chairs and cushioned chaise. One word of caution!!! Pack light, there are one million and one stairs to this hotel - but they have complimentary consierge who will cart your luggage up and down. Very accommodating! Loved it so much we will definitely return for a longer stay. Three mature couples from Texas - happy we didn't die on the stairs :)

We were on our honeymoon travelling around Italy for 3 weeks and this was one of our favorite locations! The staff was amazing, they helped us with everything. Rosita even made a reservation for us for a romantic dinner the last night of our stay overlooking Positano. Our room was a dream! We did not want to leave it and waste the view. Unbelievable! Do not change a thing! Thanks again.

Maria and Nicola provided awesome assistance. The hotel also offers a complimentary boatride (ex. Sunday). Breakfast was lovely. The views were incredible. This was our last stop on our vacation and it was the BEST!

My wife and I had the time of our lives. From the moment we walked into the front door Rosita and the rest of the staff welcomed us like we were old friends. The room was excellent and the view was right out of a postcard. Being that it was our first time in Positano we needed help everyday with direction, restaurants, shopping and tours, the staff was extremely helpful. We went on a private tour to Capri, excellent. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning and it was very nice for continential but the view from the dining room was breathtaking. There were 211 steps from front door to beach level so you must take that into consideration depending on your physical health. Many of the hotels we considered were on a street or in busy pedestrian areas and that would have been bad but Miramare was perfect. We can't wait to return.

The staff could not be better. The rooms (209 and 210) are excellent, very clean, and have amazing views. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one is an outstanding value. The complimentary boat tour is very very nice as well.

The hotel and service was fantastic. If you have a car, make sure to contact them about parking - it's tricky. You'll need to get them to open the lot, and to get the the lobby is probably down 100+ stairs. WE LOVED this place, and loved that we were not stuck in the middle of the "downtown" area. If you have problems with stairs you may want a different location. However, the room was beautiful, the staff was by far the best crew we came across on our travels. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Positano is magical and Hotel Miramare brings it all right to you. It is the perfect location for everything - you will have a private terrace where all you can see is the ocean! Thank goodness the strong porters will carry your bags from the road - thank goodness. When we checked in the front desk said you will have a gorgeous room with a gorgeous view - you are very lucky - and she was right!!!

Everything was fine, except for the multitude of ants which eventually made their way into the luggage. And, as in most places in Positano, it's quite a climb from the beach (413 steps), so come prepared. Staff most friendly and helpful.

The room we had was lovely. Although it didn't appear to be in the main part of the hotel, but a renovated building next door to the hotel. The room was still of a high standard and had great views of the water. There are ALOT of stairs to get to this hotel, both to the beach and from the road so if you have trouble with mobility I would reconsider. Or at least ensure you have arranged for someone from the hotel to carry your bags. Overall it was one of the best hotels we stayed at in our entire 8 day trip - and we stayed at hotels up and down the Amalfi Coast.

This hotel deserves the stellar reputation it's earned. It was a perfect hotel from which to take in Positano, one of the most picturesque places on the planet. The staff here is unsurpassed. There's a reason why Rosita is like a celebrity on these sites--she takes such pleasure helping guests. While our room was on the smaller side, we chose it because it had one of the biggest balconies the hotel could offer. We didn't regret the decision. We spent most of our time on that balcony, taking it all in. On our last day, we arranged to have breakfast on the balcony--we wish we had done that every day we were there. We can't say enough good things about this hotel. Go and enjoy!

Miramare is a terrific hotel. Like all hotels in Positano, it is a bit difficult to get to. There are many steps required to get to and from the town area. It is not for the elderly or infirm. Notwithstanding, it is a beautiful property with spectacular views. The terrace breakfast area is one of the nicest of any of the places that we have stayed over the years. We only stay at 4 star properties and above and Miramare compares favorably. We would stay again.

So many steps in Positano that it is tough on most people. There is no nice bar in the hotel which we left was a pity since you have to walk up steps or down steps do do anything.

Great hotel and location. Because the entire town is so vertical, all places are measured in steps (stairs) up or down. Eg, the hotel was 100 steps down from the parking lot; the beach was 201 steps down from the beach; a favorite shop was 145 steps up from the beach, etc. These people must all be very healthy! One of the most beautiful and picturesque and romantic spots I've ever seen on Earth. (And I am a pretty seasoned traveller!) The hotel staff were both friendly and helpful; however, the staff at tourist restaurants at the beach were neither friendly nor helpful. We felt like cattle being moved in and out of the restaurants. If you visit Positano, try and visit the smaller restaurants above the beach level, and you won't be disappointed with either the food nor the service.

Very friendly warm and welcoming staff who couldn't do enough. Stunning location. Not for the old or infirm, though, as Positano is perched on a cliff and it's a long walk back up to the hotel. However, you'd probably have this issue wherever you stayed in Positano. Definitely recommend this place.
