We spent five nights at Hotel Casa Albertina in celebration of our Pearl Wedding Anniversary and we had a wonderful time. The view from the hotel is breathtaking taking in the whole vista of the bay, beach and town of Positano. The hotel staff were very helpful and cases will be carried up from the road and if you arrive in a hire car this will be parked for you.Would re-iterate however a hire car is superflous as most places can be reached by taxi bus or boat.Everywhere in Positano is a climb so the extra few steps up to the hotel you soon get used to.Make sure however you do remember everything you may need each day as a short walk back to the hotel is not possible!!One criticism not of the hotel but of Positano if you prefer silence at night not possibly the place to stay as Positano nightlife remains quite vibrant into the late evening however this is generally traffic along the coastal road and wonderful jazz live music emanating from a restaurant down in the town, all making for a wonderful romantic atmosphere but not silence if this is what you might prefer!!It was a truly memorable stay and would choose Casa Albertina again!

Nice hotel. We didnt upgrade to a room with a great view and our room #25 was on the smallish side but bigger than most european hotels. We still had a terrace but the view was compromised by the AC ducts. All in all though it was a nice room and good location. Yea its a bit of a hike up via the stairs(10 min to beach) but not really if you are at least in even just ok shape lol and if you'd like you can take the street route that isnt grueling at all, it just takes about 5 min longer but it was our preferred route as you get to see great views and shop up and down along the way. It was a good value for positano.

Too many stairs to reach it, if you are traveling with children, or if you are a senior i strongly don't recommend it because of the accesibility barriers.

The steps, particularly for the elderly or anyone with luggage, are very difficult. There was no assistance with this and no way to contact the desk to request help. The view was spectacular!!!! The staff very accommodating and helpful with additional arrangements.

I was so delighted with my stay at Casa Albertina! What a charming hotel & the staff was more than helpful! I had an ocean view and it was breathtaking! As a future traveler to Positano be prepared for the steps and the walking! 73 steps from ground level to the hotel front desk but WELL worth the effort!

Signore Cinque runs a fabulous hotel and knows how to help his guests when they have questions or are in a jam. Quite honestly one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooftop terrace is not to be missed and I had it to myself every evening during sunset. Amazing. Thank you so much to the entire staff who helped make my stay perfect!

Casa Albertina is exceptionally well located with perfect views over the Amalfi coast. The large balcony area was the best feature of our accommodation. Staff were very helpful and friendly and overall we'd stay there again. Breakfast was modest however adequate. The only negative being the change of bed linen wasn't performed during the 5 nights of our stay.

Absolutely lovely place, but you have to climb 420 steps from the beach to the hill if you want to take a shorter way

We had a fine time at Casa Albertina. The only consideration is that there is no road to the hotel. It is built on a hillside and you either go up or down stairs to get there. After the first time it was easy to find. The views from the ocean front rooms were incredible. The staff was helpful and attentive. We travelled there in December, so it was the off season and many of the shops and restaurants were closed, which was OK with us, as it felt much more local and non-tourist.

The hotel was very nice, friendly staff and good service. The rooms are very spacious, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good and the location has a beautiful view of Positano. You definetly get what you see on the web. I recommend it!

We loved Positano! Not for the faint of heart, as the walk to the beach is significant. Before you dine at Casa Albertina check the price, we felt it was too costly for what we got. Lorenzo was wonderful and helped to make our stay memorable.

Great hotel and staff. purched high on the hill in Positano, it offered what had to be the best views available. Ten minute walk to the beach that's easy going down, but coming back up can be a challenge for the elderly or unfit. Staff spoke excellant English, and was a wealth on knowledge on how to get around and things to do. 72 steps from the road to the hotel door.

Can't say enough about this hotel! The staff was always willing to help us with anything we needed from the time we walked into the door to the time we regretfully had to leave. We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful, spacious room (the biggest one we stayed in during our entire trip in Italy). The ocean view was truly breathtaking and the best part about it was we could leave the doors to the balcony open and hear the ocean without being bothered or woken up by sounds of traffic. It is a very romantic place for a couple in love. I hope to go back there very soon!

You need to ring ahead to get porter to carry luggage if arriving by ferry. About 350 steps to climb from the port. Small charge but i's worth it. This hotel is not a good place if older or injured as there are many steps from the road to access the hotel (it's not on the street level). Views are spectacular from the balcony!

The room was clean, the little deck was nice to have, and I think in the summer there is a larger shared outdoor space. I did love the view over the beach and the town from our room. The bed was REALLY hard, so for me, not so comfortable, some might like that though. The staff/owners were very nice. Breakfast was good for me, but I like meats, cheeses, rolls and juice for breakfast, and there was plenty to fill me up. But, anywhere in Europe, don't expect a Denny's breakfast - that's yukky anyway.

I think Venere photos could be better - the views from the seaside rooms are spectacular, for example. The only cautionary note I would add is for anyone with difficulty climbing steps because access from the street is up a winding stone stairway that takes a good five minutes for young legs to get up!

Our stay at Casa Albertina was wonderful. It had a delightful small hotel atmosphere, unlike other places in town. The staff was great and the views were the best in town. The restaurant on the balcony was delightful...great food, beautiful setting, and wonderful service. We're already trying to plan a return trip to Positano solely because of our experiences at the hotel.

My husband and I had a wonderful time celebrating part of our first year wedding anniversary in lovely Positano. Casa Albertina, was a beautiful hotel. We stayed in a very nice room with a gorgeous view of the sea and the town of Positano. We has a lovely balcony and very comfortable bed, that for some reason, kept calling us to take mid-afternoon naps. We did not ever want to get out of bed. The jacuzzi tub, was also very nice, the perfect end to our very adventurous days. We were able to spend 5 lovely nights in the Casa Albertina. In the morning we were served breakfast on a lovely terrace facing the sea. Though I must warn you Positano is all stairs, so be prepared for the hike. I must admit the the room was quite pricey, but I think they all are in pricey Positano. Though well worth the memories, we will cherish for years to come.

Hotel is positioned high on one of positano's hill, making for superb views. Lovely balcony for breakfast, again looking out over positano and the sea. We got sea view, which does cost a good bit extra, but well worth it for the view. 3-4 mins walk down steps to beach, or 5 minuted down the winding road in town. Overall I would highly recomend the hotel.

An excellent place, as due to the steps you are a bit away from the hustle bustle of the main road through positano (which in high season would be a god send!). The staff are lovely and very very helpful, though we felt sorry for the cleaners as they had to wait so long to make our bed! All in all, excellent.

A lovely Hotel in a beautiful location with very hospitable owners and staff. We visited during low season so the owner 'upgraded' us to one of the rooms with balcony views, even though we had only paid for a chaeper room.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Albertina so much that we booked an additional 3 nights there instead of going somewhere else. Because we were there during thier off-season, we were the only ones there for the first 4 nights. It was very romantic and I highly recommend Casa Albertina to anyone who wants an authentic Italian experience. The staff catered to our every need and request. We asked for advice on places to see, ways of transportation etc. and they helped us in every way. When we return to Positano, we WILL stay at Casa Albertina again.

Our stay was during the early winter off-season when most of the town was closed and some maintenance work was being done on the hotel. It wasn't too intrusive but did mean you wanted to be out of your room fairly early. It is worth paying for a room with a view!

The hotel is located some steps above the road( elderly and people with heartproblems should reconsider their choice). it has a fantastic view from the rooms and the terrace where breakfast is served. Breakfast is a bit scarce, if you want extras like eggs or fruit this is charged. The owner is vey helpfull, gives you advice for excursions to make etc... He speaks german and english as it were his mothertongue and french too. A few steps down on the road are two restaurants and a terrace to take drinks. We enjoyed our stay very much and would go there again

As with all things in Positano it is expensve for what you get. Once you get past the small detail of the cost, the hotel is lovely, the staff welcoming and the view breath-taking (as is the walk up the 300 steps from the beach). If you are driving there you will go past the hotel 3 or 4 times before you find it (they could do with a bigger sign). Once there the staff will park your car for you and retreive it whenever you need it (for a small fee)

This was a lovely hotel in Positano with the biggest drawback being the 78 stairs to climb to get to the hotel lobby, lugging our suitcases. Also, the other negative was the small sign for the hotel; our taxi driver drove us round and round, shouting to all his "amigos" where the heck this hotel was!! (He was from Pompeii.) The view was spectacular, food good, and quiet surroundings, above the sounds of the city (you know, those 78 stairs). Very nice owner and staff who did all to see we were comfortable.

Casa Albertina is located at the top of a hill overlooking the town of Positano and the Mediterranean Sea. Our room overlooked the sea and it was a beautiful sight. The rooms were clean and very quiet - hotel employees were very gracious. Be aware though that you must climb 70 stairs (we counted!) to get to the hotels front door. Overall a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Casa Albertina. The staff, including the restaurant, were very friendly, professional and competent. I highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant. Well worth walking up a few more steps. The hotel is not directly on the street and this has a distinct advantage. The view is fabulous, the rooms pleasant and the cuisine is excellent.

This was my second visit to Positano in 6 months. As I was unable to book a room at my first choice I tried Casa Albertina, based on a Fodor's review I had read. It was delightful! This family run small hotel had a very athentic Italian flavor. The hotel was not only run by the Cinque family it was filled with Italians, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The food (half board) was very good. And the 284 steps to the beach was a challenge, but enjoyable. The view definately worth the climb. The only disappointment was not having internet service but it is avalable in the village for those who require it. I would definately stay her again.

We enjoyed our stay very much and make the following comments. The service was very good and the balcony was really nice. Access to the hotel is via steep steps. This could be a real problem for elderly people and should be advised. The half board evening meal was very good but there was no choice and some people might find that a problem and it should say that it is a set meal. We did not have a problem. There were two points over prices. The included breakfast was limited and any anything extra was charged. Our main concern was the price of the wine which we thought expensive at 19 Euro. We would reccommend others to stay there and would stay there again ourselves.
