"When we arrived we were told we had been "upgraded": heaven knows what a "standard" room is like! It was rather tired and scruffy, the sink was blocked and very slow to drain, and the bed was one of the hardest I have ever slept on. The entire wing of the hotel smelt very strongly of damp and mildew. However, it was easy to locate, the check-in was quick and efficient, the bed linen and towels were very clean, and our room was spacious. The adjoining restaurant was very convenient, with a large menu at very reasonable prices. Overall, a budget hotel OK for an overnight stay.

A very enjoyable stay, we can easily recommend. A clean and tidy room. The lounge, where we ate was very comfortable and the food was good. The only criticism on my part is that there was only one real ale in favour of lager . But that's a matter of taste.

Yellow furry mould on the bathroom ceiling. Chrome peeling off the taps which also wobbled. Sofa dusty. No bedside light. No facility to turn off the room lights from the bed.

This was our first time at Hotel Inn lodge and overall it was not value for money. We had booked for 2 adults and a child and on arrival we were told that the room was unavailable and so we were put in a feature room with a double bed and informed that a campbed would be brought and made up shortly. The service at breakfast was appalling:- on the 1st morning there was no coffee, no juice and no white bread available. On the 2nd morning the coffee was cold, there were no croissants and I had to wait 20 mins before any more were brought out, there were no cups and once again the white bread ran out and another customer was given a whole loaf of white bread to put in the basket when she asked for some more. The receptionist did not know where the local bus stopped and was unable to advise us on the best way to get to the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. The toilets in the lounge did not have a lock on them and their was no toilet paper on either day we were there and on the 2nd day one of the toilets had a big out of order sign on the door .

Excellent place to stay! Local to Hayling Island, Southsea and Portsmouth and motorway. Very good value for money...The rooms are very clean and spacious the only downfall for our stay was that as it was a saver rate it doesn't include breakfast! Oh and in the superior room the pictures it showed the plasma screen TV in the seating area but it wasn't it was in the bedroom. The room doors are fire doors and you do tend to hear a lot of door banging. If there is a wedding on depending what side of the lodge you are on can be quite noisy ours was fine but mom and dads was over the front. The ball pity was excellent to keep the kids occupied but could have been free for hotel guests as this was £2.95. Overall though Excellent and would highly recommend!!
