Hotel was relatively inexpensive compared to other major hotels in the area. Sea views (although poor weather) and convenient location. Small room with small shower - we had just come from Cinque Terre, paying less for better accomodations. Shower while good pressure / temperature had broken attachments for the nozzle so it could not be properly directed unless hand held, and fell at times. Breakfast and dinner were nice but not outstanding. Good views from lounge and dining areas. Wireless issues while we were there so not available in rooms, just lobby.

The hotel was located right across the street from the water and the view from our hotel room was suburb! The room was quite nice and very clean. The bathroom was very modern, though like most hotels in Italy a little cramped by North American standards. The hotel location was excellant as it was less than 400 meters from the main shopping area by the port area. When the weather is good this makes a great place use as a base for exploring the Cinque Terre as the shuttle boat runs to 3 of the 5 towns in the Cinque Terre and gives the very best views of the towns from the sea. Portovenere itself is a very picturesque town that appears to be set up for the yachting crowd.

I would like to have an opportunity to return to this hotel! View to sea both from rooms and from breakfast room is magnificent. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is nicely located between in coming and out going one way roads not far away from Portovenere centre and even closer to a supermarket. Our room was spacious and nice, but pillows were very hard. Breakfast buffet is rich and coffee is made the way you order it, yum. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is tasty. Portovenere is not part of Cinque Terre, but you should not miss exploring it. Best pictures of the houses in old town are made from either breakwater.

We were made very welcome at the paridiso. We arrived about midday but were given immediate access to the room.we had a great view back across the bay . Portovenere is not on the trainline, but you can access the cinque terra by a pleasant ferry trip or by bus to La Spezia and train from there. We caught a taxi from La Spezia centrale to the paridiso. It cost 33 euro. I looked on the net for a room at Riomaggiore but couldn't find much. It is after all a tiny ancient town on a steep hill. We enjoyed Portovenere it is pretty and quiet which is pleasant after some of the bustling Italian tourist cities. Paridiso also gave us free wi-fi. A nice place for harried tourists to slow down a bit. Great for walkers like me.

Hotel Paradiso is in an ideal position, with beautiful views of the bay from the bedroom windows. The bathroom was small but adequate. The staff were very helpful and efficient.Luigi was a star! Breakfasts were excellent. We ate in the hotel one evening and were very pleased with our meal.Overall we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Charming hotel, but access to the beach requires many steps. It is several hundred yards to the town center after the stairs. Parking is difficult. The people were extremely gracious and hospitable. Very expensive!!

We previously visited this hotel by chance 10 years ago. It was great then and luckily it is just as good today. We had full board this time and weren't disappointed. They pride themselves on their food and it is superb, served by friendly professional staff on a terrace overlooking the bay and marina.

We chose to stay in Portovenere as a base from which to see the Cinque Terre. This was a good choice as the ferry service runs direct from Portovenere (despite what we were told by the local tourist office). The hotel is in a good location and all rooms have water views (I think). The breakfast was ok and the service was good. You are within a 5 minute walk to everything in the town. As a bonus, we asked about parking our car on the street and the manager kindly offered one of the hotels two private parking spots at no cost. We were very appreciative. Note, when you drive into the town the road is one giant one way loop, and if you miss the hotel you need to do the entire loop again!

Portovenere is a great place to stay if you are going to CinqueTerre. Don't miss the Pestomatic vending machine! Hotel Paradiso was wondeful and staff was excellent. AAA+
