The owner is very welcoming and full of useful information. A very nice and helpful person. I really loved the breakfast! It was wonderful with a great selection, even if eggs were not included. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it fully! However, be prepared to climb stairs as there is no elevator. Hence if you have heavy luggage, this may be a little challenging...

The hotel was really good - the room was clean and well furnished. The hosts were welcoming and looked after me well - I had to leave before 6am to catch the first bus out of town and they left a generous breakfast out for me, knowing that I would miss breakfast otherwise. I strongly recommend catching the bus in from S.Margherita instead of getting a taxi - the bus is only Euro 1.5, whereas the taxi drivers charge Euro 40 for what is essentially a 7-minute trip! Both the taxis and buses stop in exactly the same spot, as Portofino is a car-free zone, so walking distance to the hotel (less than one minute) is the same if you catch the bus or taxi.

Overall, I was very pleased with the Hotel Eden. The location can't be beat and the hotel itself is charming. It offers a great little deck/garden for breakfast or you can have a light snack of your own out there later in the day. We had a quiet lunch outside and really enjoyed the peaceful, relaxed setting. The owner is quite helpful and made us feel very welcomed. The rooms felt a little small but it wasn't anything we couldn't deal with. All in all, I think it's a great little hotel and worth the price if you are looking to stay right in Portofino.

The hotel owner was very welcoming and friendly. He helped us with many information like weather forecast, roads situation and how to get Riomaggiore. The hotel is well located, but it was hard to care the luggage from the parking to the hotel.

The hotel room and common areas were filthy. The carpeted floors were severely stained and not swept during our 3 night stay. Previous guests' toe nails were still on the floor. Shower room was reasonably clean. Lack of hotels in Portofino has had a detrimental effect to pricing. This 3 star hotel was more expensive than the 4 star hotels in St Margerita. Tell people to stay in St Margerita and make a daytour by boat or bus to Portofino.

We spent a night in this hotel and we definitely have the feeling the owner is not honest. When we arrived, we discovered the room we booked (150 €) as a small one just next to the reception. As we ask for another, he told us the hotel was full and that any other would cost 200 €. We think that none of this hotel rooms worth 150 € and definitely not 200. Furthermore, we were the only one in the hotel!!! That was really disappointing and if I have one advice, prefer a hotel in Santa Margherita or Rapallo and go after in Portofino (half a day is enough).

Generally excellent - a map would have been useful, as would some advance notification about lack of parking

The hotel owner was so friendly, welcoming, and willing to speak in Italian with me (although I am still learning). Eden is a charming hotel with small but comfortable rooms, a manicured garden, and a hearty Italian breakfast. I can't wait to return.

Myself, I would never stay in Porotfino again. The people are not friendly. The Hotel was overpriced and the bathroom was very small. We were glad we were only there for one night. Don't waste your time here, go to Monterossa for Vernossa.

I thought this hotel was very nice, it is more of a guest house than a hotel. The owner is friendly and helpful.

The Hotel was really fine and nice, with a nice garden to have breakfast, very near to the small nice port, and really in the center of this small village! But the prices are too high - I guess, it's normal in Portofino. Overall, it was it worth!

The Eden Hotel was very expensive (300 euros for 3 in a room for one night) but we realized that Portofino is an expensive resort and the location, garden, and ambiance were very rewarding after 3 weeks of exhausting heat and travel. The manager was very helpful indeed and we really enjoyed our stay.
