Hotel Viticcio - Portoferraio

We will definitely stay here again when we return to Elba. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and the location was incredible.

Personale competente e simpaticissimo, hotel molto accogliente e rilassante, posizionato in maniera superba. Vicino ad alcune delle più rinomate spiagge dell'Elba (Spiaggia di Sansone, fantastica) La vista dalla terrazza è eccezionale e la spiaggia è l'ideale per passare ore di completo relax. Camere silenziose, pulite e curate. Consigliatissimo.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. A little out of the way, with not much access by public transport, it was nevertheless an enjoyable stay. The rooms were clean and spacious with a beautiful view over the water. the staff were very helpful and understanding.Would definitily go back

La amabilidad del personal muy buena. El lugar es muy bonito justo al lado del mar, aunque es una zona rocosa y hay poca playa.Las habitaciones bastante limpias y en buenas condiciones. El fallo del establecimiento es la climatización. En Abril hacía frío en las habitaciones y nos dejaron una estufa, pero claro hacía ruido y era un inconveniente para dormir. Cuando haga calor no sé que pasará porque solo hay un ventilador en el techo.

We really enjoyed our stay at Vitticio. The room was large, comfortable and private with a spacious bathroom and balcony doors with a view onto the bay. It was near the end of season (mid sept) and therefore a little quieter than we expected but I think the amazing sunsets from our balcony and the overall beauty of the island were made all the better without the summer crowds! My one grumble would be the awful dinner arrangements! We chose our dinner at breakfast time from quite a limited menu and when dinner time finally came round, the food was really quite bland and unappetizing. Rather than being a pleasure, dinner soon became a chore. However, overall our stay was a fantastic and we were sorry to leave. We would definitely return to Elba and Viticcio too, if the food improved!

Nous sommes restés une nuit. les chambres sont propres et calmes, la robinetterie de la douche mériterait d'être réparée. Le petit déjeuner et le dîner étaient corrects (bcp de poisson, elbe oblige!). Si les serveurs pouvaient être aussi accueillants qu'à la réception, ca serait un plus pour l'Hotel. Pas de piscine mais une petite crique sympa en bas de l'hotel où on peut profiter du coucher de soleil. Pas besoin de prendre de "sea view", beaucoup des chambres doivent avoir leur vue cachée par des arbres.

Nice hotel in pleasant surroundings. Staff very helpfull and the hotel is kept in good condition. Two aspects let it down though. The meals are from a menu decided earlier in the day and quite basic. The other thing was the promised sea view. There are trees in front of the hotel which restrict the view. Should be sea view through the trees. Otherwise ok.

Lovely hotel and location. Only negative is that the trees obscured our sea view! - Some pruning is required.

This hotel is more of a resort for Italian and German-speaking families. Think of Club Med without the extensive facilities, the incessant disco music, and the great food. The price includes breakfast and dinner, which are served on a very pleasant terrace overlooking a spectacular bay. Breakfast was adequate, dinner undistinguished with a limited number of choices. The room and bathroom were small, without air conditioning; we were pretty comfortable with the ceiling fan. The beach is small, but with crystal-clear water. It's 30 meters below the hotel, down a flight of steep, narrow stairs. We were very unhappy with the parking lot. It just barely holds enough cars for a full house. I almost had fender-benders both times I left the hotel, and once it took a good ten minutes to get out of the lot.

What a place. Absolutely fantastic location and a very welcoming and efficient hotel. Superb views from the restaurant and terrace, especially the sunsets. The Viticcio shares a good private beach with the hotel next door. Half board evening meal is choiced at breakfast - plenty of local cuisine to choose from with dinner at 2000. Breakfast buffet 0800-1000. Taxi from Portoferraio port 15 Euros. Elba is very lovely (though very busy in August apparently)and we toured the island in a hired new air conditioned Panda car from TWN. Highly recommended.
