Hotel Tryp Porto Centro is located right in Porto's historical centre, very close to the famous Calle Santa Catarina Street, which is a fantastic shopping centre.
Just a few minutes away, guests will find some of the main sights of Lisbon, such as several churches, the Cathedral, the Palacio de la Bolsa Palace, the Mercado Ferreira Borges Market or the Museo del Vino Museum.
The hotel offers comfortable accommodations and a variety of services, which include three fully equipped meeting and conference rooms, WI-FI connection in all public areas, a bar and a restaurant.
Nearby the hotel is located a nice recreation center, equipped with golf,tennis and squash courts.

Not ideally situated for what I wanted not that that is the hotel's fault. Be careful if you aare elderly as this has quite a steep hill to climb, overall though, not bad.

This is an exellent standard tourist hotel. We parked the car in Porto (central) and walked to it and its quite a hike up hill. Because of the layout of Porto for driving we found it easier to walk it first and figure out the route. The hotel is a 10 minute brisk walk (downhill) from the hotel into Porto and about 25 minutes down to the quayside area where the restaurants and bars are. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room we had was exceptionally large and well laid out with a beautiful modern bathroom. I felt the hotel was excellent value for money. Staff were OK, they won't win a competition for warm welcome of the year, but were OK. Parking alongside the hotel is by meter only. There is a car park close by but we did not try this. This is one of the better tourist type hotels I have stayed in and as long as you are happy to walk its great. A taxi from the quayside back to the hotel was about 8euros.

Hotel staff were extremely friendly, accomodating and multilingual. The hotel was excellent quality for the price and rooms were very spacious. The hotel is well positioned nearly the main shopping areas but is a bit of a walk from the waterfront. We would definitely stay here again.

Boiler busted, no hot water (a one-off, it happens), otherwise very comfortable. A bit of a hike to get downtown, not much to see on the way down and back (<1 km downhill). Any Tryp seems to be a dependable high standard. Not for families.
