Hotel Palanca - Porto

Good value for 30 euro per night. A good half hour on foot from city. Not much in terms of shops or places to eat in the streets around the hotel. My room faced the busy main road so was quite noisy from the traffic through the night. Wi-Fi did not reach the room, so had to use laptop down in the reception area. Very helpful staff at reception.

Everything fine ... Parking a pain, however after 22:00 OK

Good Quality vs Price ratio. Very clean and quiet hotel (but our room wasn't face to the noisy avenue). Employees are very kind and helpful. Do not get off at Faria Guimarães station : it is very far away from the hotel and the road to reach the hotel is so hilly espacilly with luggages.

These people were really busy yet were able to give good directions and ans most questions. Low cost computer access and thank God, an elevator (my wife is handicapped). We did need rest and this was our haven. Great bathroom and real hot water.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and we enjoyed it a lot except for the fact of the very bad location of it. It´s about 3.5kms away from the city center.. so we had to take the Metro always to go from one place to another... or you could walk for like 1 hour up and down the hilly roads... the staff was great, the price was unbelievable cheap and the rooms are good but very noisy, you could hear everything from the other rooms! the best things: the staff, breakfast and free parking!

Breakfast could be a bit better.

This hotel wasn't in the best part of town but the price was right and it was clean.

Please change the lift. The lift make to much noise.

Plus:kindly and wormy staff;good connections for downtown. minus:Sheets and towels washed by themselves and dried in the underground carparking!!!We discovered this in the last day when, finaly find a place to park the car.

I only staid one night, but it would have been more with great pleasure ! Rooms very clean and staff friendly and available.

This hotel is great price for value. It offers the basic services expected from a 3 star plus a breakfast and garage parking included. The only inconvenience is location; it is a 30 min walk to the city centre and port, however taxis are located everywhere, and it is not far from metro stations. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back again.

Nos pareció un hotel muy correcto. Tiene una estación de metro cercana que en un par de paradas de deja en el centro de Oporto (que por cierto, quita el hipo) El personal encantador, desde la recepción a los camareros, pasando por el personal de limpieza. Nos fuimos muy contentos y agradecidos. Pasamos una estancia genial y nos llevamos un gran recuerdo.

We stayed 4 very nice days in Porto, a city with a lot of history an very nice nad kind people. People at Palanca was very nice and quiet. The Hotel in not very near of the center but is very easy to travel around the place by metro. The station is one blok from the hotel and Porto´s Metro is excellent!

We have been in the hotel only one night, but we plan to return there to stay more, because it is really unusual to stay in a good hotel, clean and central in a large town, close to the metro, at a cost of 48€ inclusive of (basic) breakfast and garage for the car ! Moreover the welcoming was so warm and nice ! The rooms and furnitures are style years 70s, but they are working, functional and clean. There is satellite TV and programmable air conditioning. We will suggest this place to all our friends.
