Fantastic hotel in our first visit to Portugal. Convenient location, clean and comfortable. Excellent continental breakfast with a wide variety of food. We were not there in high season - there may be a bit of noise from other rooms. Staff are superb. They speak excellent English and has some really good suggestions for our visit. When they learned that our departure date coincided with a strike by rail and air transport workers, they provided an incredible amount of help and advice to make sure we reached our destination (Madeira via Lisbon) without hassle. I cannot say enough good things about these people. They were awesome.

Nice spacious rooms. Windows not totally noise proof. Can hear partyers and birds outside window. Great location, closed to river and old district.

The room is small but not too small for European standard. The location is perfect. The hotel is within walking distance from a lot of sights, within 5 minutes walk to the train station and also 5 minutes from the river front.

I didn't receive a phone message. It was stored at reception and I had no need to go to the desk, so if it had been left under room door, then I would have received it in a timely manner. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay and the facilities were small bu perfectly adequate.

Second time we have stayed at the hotel and we had a much nicer room this time. Breakfast is basic but adequate, room is always clean with service everyday. Staff always helpful and polite. Excellent position for river and town. Would return and recommend it to others.

I spent a week in da Bolsa whilst attending a Conference nearby. It was conveniently located, offered reasonably priced accommodation (73 euros a night B&B) and was clean. The staff spoke good English and were helpful. The room was rather small and the breakfast became rather dull as the days passed but it suited me fine.

Personale gentile, colazione standard.

Worth a stay because of the excellent location - if you're willing to accept a very dated hotel with tiny rooms.

Hotel is in an excellent location, 5 minute walk down to the river and lots of restaurants. I woul definitely opt for this more reasonable option rather than the very expensive riverside hotel, especially if you're not planning to spend much time in the hotel!

I apreciated the location of the hotel, very close to the most places of interest. I enjoyed of the double bathrooms of my room that I've never found in my previous trips, neither in hotels with 4 or 5 stars!!! It's a pity that the soundproofing wasn't the best! But from my room(n.504)I could admire a wonderful panorama on the Douro..

Standard boring rooms, absolutely no charm. There are superior rooms in the top floor but these cost more.

Hotel da Bolsa is located in the beautiful Ribeira district and is quite reasonably priced considering its location (within walking distance to plenty of attractions). The staff at the front desk were pleasant and helpful and the room was very clean and spacious (it had two twin beds). The bathroom was bright and clean. A nice continental breakfast was also included in the cost. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

This hostel is too much expensive in relation with the reality. The window couldn't be completely closed (so noise from the street each night), rooms need to be relooked (too old and too small), and bathroom was very basic for a 3 stars hotel. Rooms remains cleaned and breakfast correct. This hotel deserves 2 stars and a lower price.

The empoyees are very keen to help and friendly, but they have only basic skills in english. The breakfast is very poor! I was missing a save in the room. The provided internet access didn´t work at all. However, the rooms are very clean and well kept, a new powerfull air condition was available and the annoying noise came from outside (tooting cars, alarms etc.). The surrounding area is outstanding!!

Great location - just a few blocks walk to Ribeira. Rooms were perfectly nice for price - mine was a bit dark with a dormer window that was only on the lower half of the wall, but then, I wasn't spending much time in my room so it didn't make much difference. I had a handicap-accessible room (didn't ask for it) and the bathroom was quite large, which was nice. Staff answered any and every question willingly and with a smile. Hotel bar was great for getting a quick beer before heading out to dinner.

GREAT LOCATION, HOTEL GAVE DISCOUNT 10 VS 30 EUROS PER DAY FOR PARKING GARGAGE ONE BLOCK AWAY. HELPFUL STAFF. CLOSE TO ALL SITES, COULD WALK TO ALL RESTAURANTS ALONG AND TO THE RIVER 3 BLOCKS AWAY AND THE OLD STOCK EXCHANGE (BOLSA) AND SAN FRAN CHURCH BETWEEN HOTEL AND RIVER. EVEN WALKED OVER OLD BRIDGE TO GAIA-WHERE ALL THE PORT HOUSES HAVE THEIR TASTING ROOMS. PORTO IS A HILLY CITY BUT FUN TO EXPLORE.

This hotel was really excellent compared to its price. The service was friendly and I got good hints where to eat and buy gifts. The location was just perfect in the city centrum and nearby my conference venue. The breakfast was not any special but included the standard things: coffee, bread, serials, juices, etc. The only negative thing I can remember was the bath tube - water did not get out very fast but I mentioned this in the check-out and I guess it is already fixed.

My wife and little girl felt welcome, comfortable, and well taken care of here. The staff were friendly, engaging, competent and knowledgable - nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The location is excellent for visitors wishing to make the most of Porto, the Port wine lodges, and the historic district. Loved it!
