Especially the cleanliness of the room in details was poor. (Chocolate paper remained 3 days on the same spot, window in the kitchen area should have be cleaned, dust behind balcony door). One day we asked at 3pm to finally make up our room and the answer was that the staff can do it until 5 o´clock, we just should wait. Loudness: this was due to the hotel´s air condition, the engine of which was located just in front of our room (no. 103). But in GENERAL we enjoyed the stay in the Oriental. The location DIRECTLY on the beach was perfect, the breakfast buffet was good, the hotel itself is beautiful.

The wait staff was rude in the breakfast buffet, this may have been due to the fact that we only had US dollars for tips (but we did tip), (the maids were happy to except US currency for tips but the waiters were not happy, or friendly)due to exchange difficulty, we found it hard to buy euros. The front desk was helpful, and informative. The area had very few visitors. NO NIGHT LIFE one or two people in the local bars and rests. The city had so few visitors that my friend who is single left prematurely. The beach, and boardwalk are very nice. The food in the area restuarants was fair, but a bit expensive. The street directly outside the Oriental from the Jupiter Hotel up to the fort is closed. They have it dug up to lay new cables and pipes and to improve it as they have at the other end of the resort. This is a major disruption at the minute with work being careried out between 7am and 8 pm. and is expected to continue until march 2009.
