Located right on Portugal's Algarve coast, the Tivoli Marina Portimão is a 4 star hotel surrounded by boats and luxury yachts bobbing up and down in the adjacent marina. Praia da Rocha Beach is only a short walk away from the hotel and there are many shops, restaurants, bars and clubs all around. Golf courses and places to try water sports are located in the vicinity too.
The Tivoli Marina Portimão Hotel is perfect for every kind of holiday, from romantic breaks to family holidays. There is accommodation for all and a huge range of facilities which make this hotel one of the best in Portimão. This Portimão Marina hotel even has its own private beach too.

You can opt for one of the 138 Junior Suites, measuring approx. 40 m. sq./430.5 sq. ft, or one of the 45 Senior Suites, measuring approx. 70 m. sq./753 sq. ft. If you need something larger, then there are 13 Family Suites available, which total 90 m. sq./969 sq. ft. on size.
Each of the suites have lovely views of the sea or the swimming pool from their balcony or terrace, while all Senior and Family Suites come with a living room. Every room, even the Junior Suites, also has a kitchenette too.

The rooms, although austere, were extremely spacious, and even the junior suites are equipped with a kitchen. The room was quite clean, although the bathroom floor was dirty when we arrived (though cleaned the next day). We also found an infestation of very small worms in our bathroom, which were quite unpleasant. The room had a nice view of the marina, and a small balcony, which was pleasant in the early evening. The welcome by reception was brusque, unwelcoming and unfriendly. We found the staff at the desk and in the restaurants to be generally unhelpful. No maps of the area were available, and we were able to get only vague directions for the most part. There were two exceptions - Rita at the bar and a gentleman on reception with glasses were both helpful. Food at the bar was decent for a quick snack. The hotel is a short walk to Praia da Rocha. We thought the beach was disappointing - the current was strong, and not much to look at. The town of Praia Da Rocha is tiny and extremely touristy. Portimao was downright depressing. If you are looking for restaurants, avoid Dockside, which serves bland and overpriced food, and has simpering waiters who will try to trick you into getting only expensive dishes. The Churrasqueira da Rocha serves delicious barbequed chicken. What it lacks in atmosphere, it makes up for in flavour and value. There are 2 computers in the lobby for internet access, and there's a nice little gym which overlooks the marina. Breakfast was decent, though it was often difficult to find a table and even more difficult to find someone to clear and set it for you. The patio tables having a nice view of a beach across the river. Overall, it was a fine place to stay, and probably the most pleasant in the area, especially for the price we paid through Venere. Our experience was marred by the poor service, and for that reason, a 3 star, not 4.

How to reach Hotel Tivoli Marina Portimão
By car
From Lisbon: take the A2 Motorway to the Algarve, merging into the A22 Motorway towards Portimão. Head towards Portimão Town Centre/Praia da Rocha, going through the Cardosas tunnel, where the road joins the V6 Highway. Continue on the V6 Highway, but now heading towards Praia da Rocha. Go straight ahead at the first roundabout, with the Modelo Supermarket on your left and McDonalds on your right. Go straight ahead at the second roundabout and then on to the roundabout which has a small fountain and is next to the sea. Turn left here and follow the signs to Marina de Portimão.
By airplane
From Faro Airport (FAO): upon leaving the airport, take the road to the EN125 and follow signs for the IP1/Via do Infante Dual-carriage Way, heading towards Portimão/Lisbon. Continue along the IP1/Via do Infante Dual-carriage Way in the direction of Portimão/Albufeira/Lisbon, and then head towards Portimão on the (A2 Motorway), until you reach the Portimão Exit. Head towards Portimão Town Centre/Praia da Rocha and then follow the directions above.

There are two main restaurants at the Tivoli Marina Portimão Hotel; the Nikki Marina Restaurant with its an international menu and buffet, and the über trendy
Pearl Restaurant & Ultra Lounge, which serves a range of sushi, meat and seafood dishes and salads.
The Nikki Marina Restaurant is an informal eatery and is open for lunch from 12.30 p.m. until 3 p.m., and for dinner from 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Pearl Restaurant & Ultra Lounge, on the other hand, is a place to be seen, where you must dress glamorously and try and get access to the special VIP areas. It is open from April until October between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m.
