We had a fantastic stay, and would highly recommend Mai Tai to couples or individuals looking for a peaceful relaxing retreat. It is a beautiful location, high in the rainforrest. You will need a car if you wish to sight-see, or dine in neighbouring towns.

From being collected at Cairns airport by Anthony to being returned to Cairns airport by Andre we were pampered and spoiled as we enjoyed the unique experience of staying at Mai Tai in such a private and beautiful location. Breakfasts on the verandah were an absolute delight with the huge fresh fruit platter including fruit grown at Mai Tai. Our room was comfortable and immaculate dominated by a big cosy bed! It was wonderful to enjoy the freedom of "being just yourself". As there is no evening meal provided, Anthony and Andre not only recommended an excellent and value for money restaurant, but took us there to collect the food and set up a table on the verandah for us to eat. There was nothing which seemed to be too much trouble as they made us feel so welcome. It was not long before we felt as if we were staying with friends whom we'd known for years! Our only complaint ...... we didn't stay there long enough and we can't find an excuse to return for another visit in the near future!!

How to reach Mai Tai Resort

By car
From Cairns Airport:
Drive north from Cairns along the Cook Highway, following the scenic route along the coastline. On the right, pass by Yorkey Point, Trinity Beach, Palm Cove, Ellis Beach and then Port Douglas. As you arrive into Port Douglas you will see a sign-post pointing right off the Cook Highway, which directs you to Port Douglas township. Bypass this sign and keep travelling north along the Cook Highway for approximately 10 km until you see the sign-post for Mt. Molloy. Turn left at this exit and travel for approximately 2.8 km to the Mai Tai Resort entrance on the right hand side of the road, then follow the driveway to the top of the hill.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE". In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in: the rooms are available at any time after 2 p.m.
Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than 10 a.m.

INCLUDED/NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE
On-site parking is free of charge.
Private car transfers can be arranged to/from the airport at a cost of AUD $45.00 per person each way.
Wireless Internet access is available throughout the property at an extra charge of AUD $10.00 per stay.
Breakfast is included in the price.

CANCELLATION POLICY
All bookings will be charged the first nights rate as a deposit and the balance to be paid 14 days prior to arrival. Any cancellation received 30 days or more prior to arrival will be refunded the deposit less $150.00 administrative fee. For cancellations received 30 days or less prior to arrival, nil refund of the deposit will apply. Any cancellations received 14 days or less prior to arrival will be charged the full amount of the total stay booked.
You may cancel your reservation without penalty up until 30 days before your arrival date, by accessing the Your Reservations page. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE".
