I Villini is a superb place to stay. The room was quiet, cosy and clean. The house offers all facilities, like microwave, fridge, as you need as B&B- traveller. The hosts were were very gentle and helpful.

very friendly and helpful english speaking owners. we used hotel as base for seeing Florence and it was close to the station although the trains are less frequent than we were led to believe, once we'd got to grips with the timetable it was ok.There are some good places to eat in the town if you want some peace and quiet after Florence. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable and delightfully quirky. excellent coffee too! would recommend.

I loved this little hotel and I would definitely stay here again. The proprietors Angela and Tino are great, and they speak English very well. The hotel is full of funky art and has lots of personality, and is close to the train station, grocery store, and a few restaurants. There is very little to see in town, but it's only 15 minutes to Firenze by train, so is very convenient yet out of the city. A great location for exploring Tuscany!

THIS PLACE IS DIFFERENT IN AS MUCH AS THE DECOR OF THE ROOMS. BIT OF A SHOCK TO GET A BEDROOM PAINTED RED WITH THE PICTURES AND WALL HANGINGS DESIGNED BY YOUR HOST ARE STRANGE TO SAY THE LEAST. A GOOD WELCOME AND A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP AND THE PLACE GROWS ON YOU. CLOSE TO FLORENCE 2.4 EU EACH WAY ON THE TRAIN 5 MINS WALK FROM B&B TO STATION, SAVES TRYING TO PARK IN FLORENCE. EASY TO GET TO PISA AND SIENNA BY TRAIN. PLENTY OF PLACES TO EAT WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. GOOD WALKS ALONG THE RIVER. a PLEASANT PLACE TO STAY FOR THE BUDGET TRAVELLER.

We found our hosts very helpful and good humoured, and they looked after us well. Our room was adequate, although the bathroom and shower were a little on the small side. Pontassieve has a number of restaurants and the meals in the ones we visited were very reasonably priced. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station which has a good service to Florence. Pontassieve is well placed to visit the many towns and villages of Tuscany by car.

We were first time at I Villini and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are quite simple but clean, spacious, and very charming. Florence can easily be reached by train in about 20 minutes. We had a very good stay there and the couple managing the hotel is really nice.

We stayed 2 years ago and I am just getting around to writing. What a lovely place to stay. Great hosts and a fun and silly environment with very quirky art work. Lovely town with easy train access to Florence. The hosts even sent us a Chrismas email and a cooking book. Delightful.

Great little hotel if you don't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of Florence. It is just down the street from a grocery store and laundrymat as well as the the train station if that is important to you. The owners are very sweet people. It was more like staying at a friends place than staying in a hotel.

A charming little hotel 15 km to the east of Florence on the way to Arezzo, away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Fresh air, no tourists in sight, only locals. Very kind and helpful hosts. We had a triple room, spacious and clean, tidied up every day. Comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. We had a key to the front door so we would get back for the night as late as we pleased. Total independence. Peace and quiet during the night. The only drawback - a bit of noise now and then from the street in front of the hotel, but easily bearable. Not a busy street, so don't panic. A good choice of eating places not far from the hotel.

We spent 4 nights at I Villini and really enjoyed our stay. Angela & Tino are absolutely the best hosts! They are very welcoming and accomodating. Their recommendations of local restaurants provided some of the best and most "authentic" meals of our trip. Their English is very good, and they are easily available to answer questions. Emails were responded to very promptly. The property is close to the market, the train station and a self service laundry. It was a very easy 20 minute train ride to the main station in Florence for the day. Our room had a small balcony with a nice view of the river. The only downside was there was a bit of traffic noise at night. I wish we had been able to stay longer, and would not hesitate to go back.

Angela and Tino have received a lot of very good reviews here, and elsewhere. All thoroughly deserved, I must say. Ryanair now fly from Sevilla to Pisa, and we'll be returning to Firenze in 2007, and I won't hesitate to book in to I Villini again. Very very helpful, and very very friendly. They even had a recommendation for a restaurant in Lucca, on the day of our departure; which turned out to be excellent. I only have one negative thing to say, and it's not about I Villini; it's about the restaurant in Pontassieve that we were recommended to go to - "Al Fornello di Sandra" - very overpriced, quality wasn't that good; I'm a firm believer that if I have a starter and a main course, then I shouldn't leave the restaurant wondering where the nearest pizza take-out is. But that was the case with "AFDS". A complete "never again" for us. Having said which, I must stress again, that the Albergo I Villini was nothing but excellent, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I Villini has a very convenient location. It is close to the train station - great for travelling to Florence. Not too far away is Castello di Nipozzano - a perfect place for winetasting. Pontassieve is a nice town with friendly people, good restaurants and shopping. We were at I Villini in July - it was very hot and had difficulties sleeping at night. Even though fans were provided in our rooms the heat was overwhelming. Sleeping with the windows open did not help either because our room was facing the front and we were on a very busy street-sounded like a highway. We do recommend I Villini but not in the summer.

We enjoyed our stay at I Villini very much. The advice and directions of our hosts helped greatly. Their breakfast is a must and much better than the nearby restaurants. I highly recommend the I Villini especially for those watching their budget.

Our arrival was a bit late in the evening. We were too tired to go out for dinner. The owners (Angela and Tino) helped us find a pizza delivery. Most did not deliver at that time so Angela went out on her Vespa to get us a Pizza. She came back in ten (!) minutes with two very tasty pizza's and a nice bottle of red wine. How's that for a welcome! The hostel is very lovely decorated with housemade art. Only 7 or 8 (all uniquely decorated)rooms available make this hostel small and cosy. The rooms are clean just like the rest of the building. So if you are looking for a sweet, small, romantic and "no-hurry" place to stay... this is the one. Breakfast in bed is modest, but tasty. The warm "scones", coffee and orange-juice will give you a jumpstart for the day. Speaking of which: for any information about the surroundings or a day out, Angela and Tino are very devoted in assisting you in this. We stayed at I Villini for almost a week giving us time to explore the surroundings. Take the 15 minute train ride to Florence for example. It is a lovely ride and tickets are very cheap. We really enjoyed our one week stay in this lovely albergo and we can encourage you to give it a try. The owners definitely define the word hospitality. Thank you for a lovely time. I will stay here again and again! The Villini's were fabulous hosts. The property is all it advertised it to be. The location could not be more convenient to the train station. From there it is a short 15 min ride to Firenze. The rooms were spotless. There is a coop grocery store within a 5 minute walk and a coffe shop also where they offer fresh pastry's and croissants each morning. The town of Pontassieve is a charming little town. Ask the owner Albergo for a recommendation of restaurants in the neighborhood. We found them very good and affordable. Overall I have no complaints and rate this property a 5 star. The price I paid for a room with private bath and two beds and the cleanliness I could never find in the US.

Our stay here was one of the most enjoyable in our Italian holiday. It was only a 15-minute, 2-euro train ride to Florence central station and the scenery along the way was wonderful! This bed & breakfast is only a six-minute walk from the Pontassieve train and bus station. From here, you can explore the hills and mountains and forests of central Tuscany like we did. A great break from the museums and commerce of Florence! The couple who runs the hotel were extremely helpful and accomodating, giving us tips and pointing us in the right direction. There is a mini-library with books in English, French and German, also lots of brochures and pamphlets on what to do in this area. The I Villini itself is charming and cozy, a real homey feel to it. There's even cool artwork of 'found' objects by Angela's husband, Guido, hanging on the walls, which our 9-yr-old daughter preferred over the classical and Rennaissance stuff she had od'ed on in Rome and Florence! :-)We had a front room with a balcony overlooking trees, foliage and the rushing river. A few meters away is the public park and playground, great to relax in and let the kids run wild. Five minutes walk away was the central shopping area with a supermarket stocked with Tuscan goodies....we got our picnic stuff here as eating out in restos all the time will break your budget! This hotel was an excellent value for money and we would stay here again and again!

The owners of the B&B are really dedicated to help you and sympathic. They speak english well and can help you to organize your travelling to the attractions. Therer is a train station at 10 min walk and a supermarket at 5 minutes between. There is no parking but it is possible to park the car in the street for free. The train to Florence takes about 20 minutes through magnific Toscane landscapes. The only negative point is that the bed we had in a double room was the least comfortable I ever had.

The owners were fantastic, and very helpful when we had questions about the train schedule. The location is an easy walk to/from the train station. Our room was on the first floor, which was slightly disappointing because our only view was of the street and our room was right by the front door so we heard everyone as they came and went. I recommend requesting a room on a higher level, but other than that, i would defiantely recommend this place to travellers!

I Villini is a beautiful house with a small number of rooms, just 7. The rooms are tastefully decorated are spacious and light, a lovely big comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. It has an intimate feel. The owners Angela and Tino (and also the beautiful cat Jaffa) are very welcoming and happy to provide local knowledge if required. They provided maps and directions for walking into town, and was also available for suggestions for day trips, etc. The breakfast was excellent and included the real Italian fresh “cornetto” and cappuccino. The location of the B&B was excellent for exploring Tuscany... 15 minutes to Florence, 45 minutes to Siena, 50 minutes to Arezzo and Cortona, 1 hour to Pisa and Lucca, 30 minutes to the centre of Chianti. I would recommend this Bed and Breakfast to anyone.

Perfect location if you want a base to tour Tuscany or visit Florence. Florence is only a 4 euro/15 minute train ride away and the station is only a 5 min stroll, trains every 30 mins (don’t drive into Florence it’s a nightmare to park). The highway connections are superb; Siena, San Gimignano (must see) and Pisa are within easy reach. The town itself is small and with only a few places to eat at night, however there are quite a few restaurants on the way to and in nearby Rufina. The Accommodation is simple, clean, comfortable and very safe. The owners speak excellent English and are more than helpful. They are both very knowledgeable on the local area, and more than willing to lend advice on places to visit. The heart of the Chianti region is only minutes away from the accommodation therefore a good base for the wine lovers. Make a point of visiting the “Il Pratto” Winery (located at Masseto, on the main rd to Rufina). The owner is a local doctor who with his wife and in-laws make a variable range of wines. His English is good and his wine is first class. You may need to phone ahead, but we just turned up and they were very accommodating. Overall the “Villini” was the best value accommodation we came across in our 2 month tour of Europe, it is well run and maintained we’ll be back in 2006, excellent value!
