Tina and Daniella were superlative helpers in every way. The hot water was long in arriving at our room, but almost all the time it was eventually there. I love the place. I found out it used to be an old estate. It is a great place to stay. I particularly liked to easy access to Pompeii ruins and the proximity and easy access of the ciucumvisuviana train system.

The room and hotel were both excellent and in a great location just outside the gate to Pompeii. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The only drawback was the plumbing where the hot water was a bit hit or miss - in fact all water stopped on occasions. But the hotel did fix this once we mentioned it. All in all we loved the hotel and it was perfect for location.

A lovely grand older style hotel. Previously a privately owned villa from the 18th century, it was converted into a hotel around WWII. Very spacious (rooms and public areas) and a definite sense of old grandeur. Staff in suits and ties, a porter, welcoming receptionists with at least some level of english. Breakfast beautifully laid out and generous in quantity in the breakfast room. Ideally located directly next to the Pompeii ruins, (you can see them from your room), the area just outside the hotel to the entrance of the ruins, is set up for tourists with many permanent market stalls and it can get a bit messy with the number of people through. On the plus side, there are some great places for food and drink during the daytime! There are other places to eat other than the hotel nearby and all are priced similarly so if you're tired from walking all day, eat locally. By the way, if you have no hot water, you may need to let it run for up to 15 minutes - but it WILL get hot eventually (it has to go from the basement to the top floor and then work its way down). Highly recommended - everyone was friendly and helpful and the facilities were excellent.

L'albergo è confortevole e corrisponde alla descrizione presente nel sito. Purtroppo , un guasto all'aria condizionata non prontamente riparato, ha creato dei disagi considerato il periodo estivo molto caldo.

Everything about our stay was disappointing. The receptionist couldn't take her eyes off the computer long enough to greet us when we arrived. We had booked 2 single rooms and were allocated 2 family rooms, which needed modernisation. How anyone rated the hotel as quiet is beyond me. There is 24 hour non stop traffic on the main road outside the hotel. Not all rooms have views of the ruins, as advertised. There may be 4 restaurant rooms but it is almost impossible to get a meal as hotel guests come second to the numerous visiting groups. When we did get a meal, it was expensive and not very nice - a very disappointing introduction to real Italian pasta! We were moved to smaller, more modern rooms for our second night, which were also very noisy. We did see one member of staff smile on our last morning but he was the only one! Think twice before staying here!

We were an American and Scot traveling together, with separate rooms. The rooms were lovely and being right next to the archaeological site was very convenient. The staff were nice, especially one waiter, who was charming and very kind. We left before breakfast was served, but he brought us cappucino and about 4 kinds of rolls so we could eat before the taxi came. I was prepared for the large bus tour groups at lunch because of other reviews, so that was fine. The only disappointment was that the food, though nicely served, was not good quality. The soup was so salty that we could not eat it, and my friend's fish was not so good. My omlette was fine. So: the hotel itself is quite good but be careful about eating in their dining room. After the small rooms in Rome, it was luxurious to have a bigger space, and the hotel itself is from a past era, with great public spaces, as the photos show. NOTE: If you are interested in Pompeii, leave time to spend a day at the Archaeological Museum of Naples to see all the items removed from Pompeii to preserve them. We didn't have time to do this and were disappointed. But Pompeii itself was fascinating!!

I was a solo traveler and arrived very late. The male receptionist was very kind and offered me dinner in the dining room. I didn't get to choose from a menu, they just had what they call the "tourist" dinner for 16euros. The waiter was very kind. The rooms were spacious enough and I had a beautiful view of the Pompeii Scavi from my rooftop balcony. The rooms were clean and quiet. Most of the staff was absolutely wonderful. Very friendly, helpful and courteous. However, one waiter, during the second dinner I had there rolled his eyeballs at me when I asked for the menu. I guess he was planning on me just eating the "tourist" dinner. It was the same food I had the night before and I didn't really want to eat that, but I could see I irritated him so I decided to eat the same thing two nights in a row. I chose not to eat there again after that. The other person who wasn't too friendly was one of the night receptionist. He was cold and again I seemed to be irritating him. He was on the phone one night. I stood there along with another couple for several minutes waiting for him. Although I don't speak much Italian I could tell this was a personal phone call. The other coupld finally left without talking with him. I stood there and waited for over 5 minutes. Again, it just made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. The hotel is right in the mix of all the tourist tents. Good location to the scavi entrance. The hot water and the water pressure was inconsistent. I Had to wait sometimes for hot water to take a shower. I would return to this hotel, but I would probably stay at the Villa Dei Misteri Hotel again next time.
