Hotel Piccolo Sogno - Pompei

The room was very dark and tired looking. The view from the window was blocked by an outdoor wall. The common areas were nice. Not much they can do since the structure is very old.

This B&B was generally great value. The proprieter, Alfonso and staff are extremely friendly and obliging. Alfonso is a student of archaeology who is very knowledgeable about the history of the old city and willing to share stories. The facility is literally a half a kilometer from the Pompeii ruins and there are plenty of good, inexpensive restaurants in close proximity. Pompei is wonderful and the people are full of life. The old city is expansive and we were not prepared for this. We will certainly return and try to spend a number of days exploring this amazing place.

A small hotel on the first floor of a block 5 minutes' walk from the Circumvesuviana railway station and 5 minutes' walk from the Pompeii ruins. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. The room (for 4 - double bed and bunk beds for the children) was pleasant and very quiet. Breakfast is in a small covered terrace - croissants and coffee. Modern Pompeii is quite pleasant with a large town square with fountains and a large "Santuario" church - plenty of bars and restaurants. Easy and frequent trains to Herculaneum and other Roman sites in the area, as well as minibus tours up Vesuvius available.

Although the staff only partially speaks some English, they were very helpfull and attentive, also when we had accidentally left some things behind in piccolo sogno.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again. Excellent location to visit the ruins. I am from the UK not the USA.

The reception is opened 24/7. Staff is very kind and helpfull. It was the best hotel of our itinirary throug Southern Italy (aug 2009). Located near the center, near supermarkets etc.

Very hospitable! We traveled around Italy for 3 weeks and stayed in 3 -5 star hotels, but this small 2 star was by far the most comfortable, and the kindest people we had met throughout our trip. PERFECT!

The staff was very helpful and eager to please. The room size was typical of a two star Eurpean hotel. The breakfast was basic. The location was very convenient to Pompeii and bus transportation. You need to get off at the right train station - the line from Naples to Sorrento leaves you 2KM from the hotel from which you take the local bus - otherwise get to the right Pompeii station in the "new" city which is in easy walking distance to the hotel.

This is a wonderful and great place above the Amalfi Coast, with a great view, very nice and clean rooms,which are very reasonable priced! The service is good and friendly. What was perfect as well, was the Agriturismo next door with great food and nice people as well.

Very nice little hotel. Nice breakfast. Located close to the main square and a short walk to the ruins entrance. Beware that it is a much longer walk from Pompeii-Scavi train station, so better to take a bus. One negative - we did not get fresh towels on the second day of our stay - had to ask.

The shower was in very poor condition. I dropped something on the floor in the bathroom and it was coated with dust. This colored everything with a negative hue.
