As stated by other visitors to this hotel, there are roosters next door, but that morning cappocino is worth a little cock-a-doodle-do. Best breakfast ever. Room was clean and comfortable. Short walk to scavi, and local restaurants. Owners friendly and welcoming. Travelling with son and daughter in law.

The rooms were ok, simple but comfortable enough. The hotel is very well situated, very closed to the "second" entrance of the ruins site, which is less crowded and nicer than the main one. People who work there are very nice, the two negative points are that there is no wireless at all and that the breakfast is a continental one, with a very poor choice of food (croissant of poor quality, bread, butter and industrial marmalade).

We are a famiy of four with two teenage boys. The hotel was easy to find and the staff were very helpful. It was an ideal location for the Pompei Scavi only a short walk away. Loads of lovely restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was comfortable and clean. We definitely recommend this hotel...and wish we could have stayed longer!

A good value hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Very secure - both hotel and parking. Well located for the excavations and central Pompei. We stayed there twice on the way south and then on the way back and would recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Pompei.

We are a couple in our 60’s and enjoyed staying at this hotel. We had a room overlooking the parking lot/garden. It was not particularly quiet – barking dogs and crowing roosters, but it was probably reminiscent of the ambiance 2000 years ago. The hotel lacked internet access but there is a tourist office called ‘Pompeii Service’ where computers with internet access are available for a few euros/hr during the day. (On leaving the hotel turn right and go about two blocks and turn left on the Via Vittorio Emanuele. It is about a half block on the left). The hotel provides a basic breakfast, but lacks a restaurant for other meals, although they do serve drinks (2 euros for 500 ml of their house wine – perfect for watching the sun set from the balcony). We ate often at a cafeteria-style restaurant called Todisco that is located past the Via Vittorio Emanuele described above. You continue on a short distance past this street to a parking plaza (plaza Schettini) and the restaurant is to the right at the back of the plaza. We ate mostly vegetable dishes, lasagna and torte rustica, with the house wine. It is local fare and inexpensive. The steamed octopus was particularly memorable. Todisco is not fancy, but the staff could not be more accommodating. Pompeii is an ideal central location to tour the many sites in this region. We arrived at the Naples airport in the evening and had reserved a cab (Project Napoli Service) that met us up and took us to the Hotel Iside (this is highly recommended rather than taking the airport bus to Naples, the train to Pompeii and then finding the hotel). The sidewalks are uneven and in some places very narrow near the hotel and can be a challenge for rolling suitcases. Our schedule was Day 1: Oplontis and Herculaneum; Day 2: Paestum; Day 3, Pompeii; and Day 4, The Naples Archaeological museum and on to Rome. This was a full, but manageable schedule. Recommended reading: Pompeii Awakened by Judith Harris.

Great little hotel, friendly family operates it, location wonderful, on quiet street easy walking distance to archaeological site and shops/food. The only problem with noise was roosters nearby, which bothered my friend, but I thought they were cool!

We were travelling with two grandchildren, aged 5 & 7 and found Hotel Iside to be very convenient to both the ruins of Pompeii, the town of Pompeii, the bus service to Vesuvius and the two railway stations. The breakfasts were delicious with freshly baked bread rolls & croissants. We stayed in a quad room with a balcony which was convenient for drying washing. We also loved the shutters which completely darkened the room when we wanted to get the jet-lagged children to sleep. The airconditioning worked well and the bathroom was spacious. In addition to all this, the staff were very friendly & welcoming.

Very clean, quick walk to the Pompeii Ruins. Good security of belongings and excellent security for car. Location right near centre of town near restaurants and public areas. Poor breakfast compared to other places that we stayed. Packet, plastic ham and cheese slices with stale buns very disappointing especially when there are so many nice meats and cheeses in Italy.

Hotel Iside isn't fancy but nothing in Pompei seemed to be very upmarket! It was clean and safe with friendly staff, a lock-up yard to keep the car safe at night, and seemed to be the closest hotel to the Pompei ruins. The room was cramped for a family of 4, but it was OK and in a much better part of town than other hotels we saw - very happy we chose this one!

The private parking is very practical and under locked gate. Staff was very nice and friendly, at least one person was fluent in english and the others communicated very well with signs and our bad italian. Hotel is indeed just 5 minutes from Pompei Scavi, and the same distance from little restaurants and gelato. We stayed 2 nights; mostly families were staying at the hotel at the time we were there. Room is of comfortable size for a family of 4 with kids aged 10 and 13. Air conditionning was functionning very well which was good since there was a heat wave (38C). Place was sparkling clean with white tiles everywhere. I would highly recommend the hotel to my friends.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Iside. If you're looking for a good and basic hotel runned by friendly people nearby the historical Pompei site, and if you're hotel shouldn't be nothing more than a good place to sleep, wash and have breakfast, hotel Iside is the right spot for you. Breakfast is ok, nothing more, noting less. Don't expect to be at the Hilton, but you're better off here by far than in some 4 stars hotels in Rome.

I liked my stay here. It is pretty hard to find after dark, and with young Italian hot-rods driving wildly through the streets, but once having arrived I was glad. The staff were friendly, the brekfast simple but effective, and the location useful for "downtown" Pompei

This is a very welcoming hotel. Situated at the edge of an orange grove, it has a country feel, but is still in the center of activity in Pompei. The staff was very helpful, our room was pretty, with a view of the grove, and our continental breakfast was fresh and good. (The only thing I would mention here is that the cheese and ham slices offered were of the grocery store type, but the rolls and coffee were superb.) The front side of the hotel has rooms with views of Vesuvius. The hotel's location is about six or seven blocks from the downtown and restaurant area, so if walking is problem for you, that may be a quite a hike, especially after dark. But we found the location fine, especially considering the price. The hotel is about the same distance to the entrance of the Historical site. I must admit that Pompei is not pedestrian friendly in all parts of town, but that is not the fault of the hotel. We like the Hotel Iside, and enjoyed all the free oranges we could pick!

We loved the room and stayed two days. The owners and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only weak spot is the breakfast, not terrible but not great. With all those lovely lemons and oranges, real juice would have been a treat. We had some trouble finding the hotel initially but once there, it was no problem getting around. Not much view from our floor on the street side, Vesuvias just out of range.

The owners of the hotel rescued us when we arrived at the station hours after dark. They treated us wonderfully, despite the lack of a shared language. Great breakfast, afternoon tea when we needed it and recommendations where to go for dinner. The hotel is very centrally located for the site, the town centre and only a bit of a walk to the stations. The rooms are plain, but very clean and warm with balconies and ours had a view towards vesuvious. We would certainly go back.

I happily recommend this hotel without hesitation. It is a family run small hotel and it feels like home away from home. It is close to everything in Pompei and close to two train lines which will take you to many other places. Very enjoyable.

Wow, so what a cool place. We didn't pay a fortune which was nice but we loved the hotel. The roll down metal blinds were great to get some quiet dark sleep. Also the location was "in" Pompei but not on a main street. It's very close to the ruins of ancient Pompeii, why else would you go. We walked from the train to the hotel, about 3/4 of a mile. If I am ever lucky enough to return Pompeii I will stay at Iside. The hostess also recommended a great little Pizza place about 1/2 a mile away where locals eat. It was awesome to!

Very good location to explore the highlights of Pompei; the ruins as well as the city center. Restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. We had a difficult time finding the hotel, but found a police officer who directed us. The hotel is within walking distance to the ruins and the Pompei Town square. The folks running the hotel were friendly and helpful, even though English was not spoken by everyone. We certainly were able to manage. Breakfast was good, but don't be looking for American breakfasts! It's done differently in Europe. The hotel was certainly as we expected it to be; not luxurious, but comfortable, clean and well-priced.

Very nice hotel in a quiet place close to the caves entrance (100m). Most frustating in this area is the very difficult access to a beach. You have to take the train for at least 1/2h and do not expect to reach it by car during season period.

Very friendly and helpful front desk. Franco and his family do not speak english well however their pleasantness and welcoming demeanor make up for any shortcomings in their english and they make it a very easy stay. The ruins at Pompeii are huge. Pompeii was a large Roman city. You could easily spend an entire day walking thru it and Iside is very close to it. Breakfast (Italian breakfast) was very good and in a comfortable setting. All Italian showers are small but rooms are very clean and very workable at Iside. A/C works well in rooms. Parking in rear of hotel is protected. If driving, use 'Google Earth' or equivalent to find anyplace in Italy before you go. And get a good map of Italy because the roads are inexplicably one way and change names frequently and being familiar ahead of time is very helpful. USE GOOGLE EARTH. Other great archeological sites are Herculaneum, Stabia, Oplontis and do not miss the 600bc temples at Paestum about 45 minutes south of Pompeii. Also you will not be far by car (1/2 day trip) to the Amalfie Coast, a sight to behold. Overall a very nice pleasant stay at Iside and I would recommend it.

The hotel needs a bit of freshening-up. Walls were dirty, bathroom had minor mold issues. The road is under construction therefore the exterior looked bad and wasn't exactly a nice welcome. The photographs online and on brochures are beautiful unfortunately, the hotel is not. Directions are inadequate however, location is good.

The web site photos of the exterior and property were misleading. The orange orchard doubles as the parking lot.The breakfast was definately continental. It was difficult to get information on sights etc. as staff did not speak English. It is a short distance from the Pompeii Ruins gate and this is why we chose the location but it is the exit not the entrance so the walk to the entrance is substantial.

We found this hotel perfect for our needs. The staff were welcoming and friendly some with more English than others but all tried to give us advice on where to go and what to do. We were grateful for all the advice. The nearest entrance to the ruins is not actually the main entrance but unless you require the hand held talking guides this is not a problem and if you wish to go to the main entrance this is 10 mins walk even in the heat. The room was very clean and the air conditioning was a welcome reprive from the heat. The bathroom and shower were clean and functional. The beds comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were a good start to the day. There were a number of restaurants near the Ruins entrance and the town centre was 15 mins stroll away. We thought that the staff were without exception friendly and helpful and were prepared to go out of the way to make our stay pleasant. The hotel was quiet despite its location near to a road and we even bought wine at the bar and sat on the balcony. We highly recommend without hesitation this hotel to anyone and if we were ever travelling near again we would stay ourselves.

This is a charming little hotel in the heart of Pompei, one street away from the ruins and close to the piazza. It is family owned and operated. We were met at reception by the owners who are courteous and helpful. Some staff can communicate in English. Secure parking is included. Our room overlooked a vista of Vesuvius and was air conditioned. The staff directed us to nearby restaurants where one can really experience the local specialities. Breakfasts comprised of freshly baked goods and bread, coffees, teas and juices. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel find. Pompei itself has great shopping and has one of the most beautiful churches of our travels across Italy.

I was very impressed with the staff and facilites at Iside. The breakfast was very adequate and additional food was brought to the table without asking. The room was clean and the bathroom large. Quiet at night and the area was accepatble, close to the piazza in the center of Pompei and less than 5 minute walk to Pompei excavations. When we checked out they allowed us to leave the car parked behind the hotel while we toured Pompei. When we returned and asked to open the security gate to leave, the elerly man at the table gave us a two liter bottle of cold water and plastic cups to take with us for the ride home. That is what I call outstanding service. I will definately return with the whole family soon.

The hotel is located some blocks away from the excavations site entrance. I was traveling by car and the hotel provided parking at no extra cost (very nice and safe on hotel's backyard and under some orange trees). Breakfast was NOT included in the rate (6 euros per person) and was reasonable. Hotel surroundings look safe but somewhat isolated (no stores or services around). Restaurants are not close to the hotel so we chose to drive to them. Communication with hotel staff was not so easy as they don't speak English, however their friend and helpfulness compensated this. I was on a vacation family travel with older children (5 people) and stayed for three nights. The rooms are spacious and clean but the heating was turned off every dawn, so we generally woke up freezing. Credit cards were well accepted. Would stay again.

Location was excellent- only a short walk to the ruins. Family run hotel and everyone was very friendly and helpful. The younger generation spoke english very well which was much appreciated by tired travellers! They bent over backwards to ensure we had an enjoyable time, booking free tickets for us to see a local theatre production if we wished, and getting a delivery truck to move for us so we could get our car out of the parking area when departing. A very enjoyable stay- We would recommend.

We stayed 2 nights in a family room (1 double bed and 2 single beds). The room was not large, but there was enough space for us 4. However, the bathroom was huge! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel surroundings are not great (some abandoned-looking buildings), but we felt perfectly safe there (there is private parking in the hotel garden).

Cumple ajustadamente con el nivel de un hotel de tres estrellas, por comparación con otros de la misma categoría en Italia. Si bien no tengo quejas en general sobre el hotel, debería mejorar un poco el tema del mantenimiento y el estado del edificio.
