The response to my booking was immediate and comprehensive. We were given detailed instructions on travel from Naples (we came by local train), and staff were very helpful. The hotel is small with a great outdoor garden area and is ideally located for all the tourist sites of Pompeii.

Nice, clean, modern hotel, very good complimentary breakfast. Excellent front desk staff, fluent in English, readily available and very helpful. Not close to train station or Pompeii ruins, approx. 2 kilometers away. But our family is very healthy and fit so was no problem to make the 15 min. walk to and from these locations, even with roll-on suitcases and small backpacks.

This is a good choice for Pompei. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a bar in the lobby with a small lounge, with a large, lovely garden area. Though the room I had was quite small, it was clean and had a safe and wifi. Two of the 3 train stations in Pompei are very close to the hotel, so it's good for day trips to Ercolano, Naples etc. There is a lot to see in the area, and this is a great little hotel for a base.

This is a family run, very clean hotel. Everyone was incredibly lovely and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, one of the best cappuccinos ever! Lovely garden for a mid-afternoon break, coffee or a drink! Excellent location and easy access to Pompeii or the train to Sorrento for the boat ride to Capri. The staff was able to help us find our way around without a problem. Also had excellent dinner recommendations. The rooms are a bit small, but very clean and comfortable.

Extremely professional and hard-working staff, solved a couple of issues almost immediately. The garden terrace was a great place to meet other travellers, and the service was excellent. The hotel went out of its way with some other guests to organise virtually their whole itinerary whilst they were in the area. The rooms are a bit small, but absolutely fine, clean and very presentable. Terrific value for money all round. Heartily recommended - everything within an easy walk in Pompei.

The staff at Hotel Diana made it way too easy to navigate Italy for our first time visit. They were supremely helpful, always attentive and the sweet private garden in the back was the perfect place to unwind when returning from each days jaunt. Ask for one of the quieter back rooms or plan to sleep with your windows closed. As long as you don't require large rooms, this is the place to go for a central location to a number of historical sites.

Hotel Diana is the perfect hotel for anyone who wants to visit Pompei. In a quiet street, and still only 2 minutes from Trenitalia train station (20 minutes to Naples) and less than 10 minutes walking to the archeological site of Pompei. The staff is very helpful, especially Silvio who speaks both Italian and English (as he was born in England). Excellent breakfast. Real cappuccino. Nice garden. No complaints!

A decent hotel in a great spot - close to the train station, but we never heard a train. 10 minute's walking distance to the ruins, near a few restaurants & bars. Very noisy rooms. Rooms are small, but big enough to just sleep in. Great breakfast, with a fabulous outdoor area for eating it in, or an evening drink. Staff are excellent, very helpful & friendly and most speak English very well. Free parking off street and a lift are little added bonuses.

One of the friendliest and welcoming hotels we've stayed in. Always willing and able to provide useful information, whether asked for or offered. Courteous staff, many of whom spoke good English. Cold buffet continental-style breakfasts were good. Provision of Internet access via hotel's laptops was also great! Though our room (on ground floor) was OK, those on the upper floors are probably nicer.

this is the second time at this excellent hotel. it is by no means a luxury hotel but has an terrific "backstreet feel" and is always impeccably clean. less than ten minutes walk to the ruins and 30 secs from the train station. Breakfast is superb value and the unubtrusive service by the staff is great. well done on the orange garden by the way but in someways the old rustic garden and wrought iron table had a nicer appeal. i would always highly recommend this hotel as a great place to get your head down and enjoy Pompeii

A spotlessly clean, modern, attractive, budget hotel with helpful staff 50 meters from the train station ( if you take the right line - Diana will send you the details) and they'll make you an Americano any time, day or night. It came up first on the trip adviser list and deserves it. Avoid the expensive restaurant on the corner of the same street - go instead to the cafe up the main street with the strange name of Hot and Ice which has great food, a fine, cheap house wine and a very sympatico host. The food will be half the price, twice as good and three times the fun. The hotel surroundings are so so, but thats because Pompei is not an upscale town. It s safe enough however, and an easy walk to the site. (By the way, If you go to Vesuvious in the morning, be sure to ask your bus driver to drop you off at the porta marina entrance of the pompei site to start your pompei visit.

Loved this hotel. Brilliant location close to FS station and therefore easy to get into Naples. Only a short walk to the Circumvesuviana station too. Its location also gives you the opportunity to spend some time in the town of Pompei and not just the archaeological site of Pompeii. The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I love the bright and cheery decor in my room and, although it was a little small, there was a terrace area and landing with a table just across from it. And even better - a lovely garden (watch out for falling oranges!) for a relaxing evening with a bottled of the local Lacryma Christi wine....

The staff is extremely accommodating and competent. They know the train schedules, the good restaurants, and other useful information. The location is perfect - 10 minute walk to the ruins, 2 minute walk to the train station. A very good restaurant is in the next building. The hotel staff arranged a driver to meet us at the ferry in Naples (and dealt with the late arrival of the ferry) and to take us on a tour of the Amalfi Coast. We had left our bags there before check in time - and when we returned they had checked us in placed our luggage in the room. The breakfast is substantial. The hotel is airy and well lighted.

The family and staff are wonderful. They made us feel very welcome and went to great lengths to help us. The position in Pompeii is convenient to drive to and is only a 10 min walk to the ruins. The self guided tour of the ruins purchased at the hotel was well worth while. The room we had was recently refurbed with beautiful fittings. The bathroom and bed room were both of european sizing but very adequate. The special feature of the Hotel is the orange grove courtyard perfect for a book or the afternoon coffee or something stronger from the bar. The restaurant on the corner, a 40 metre walk is also recommended as we returned for our second meal which is unusual for us. All in all we had a great 3 days in Pompeii.

If I ever make it back to Pompeii, I want to stay at Hotel Diana again. Hotel Diana is very pleasant and comfortable with a nice courtyard (with orange trees), but what makes this hotel so special is the people at the front desk. They provided a level of service that far exceeded our expectations. For example: From Pompeii we went to Rome where we had rented an apartment. The apt owner didn't speak English; we don't speak Italian. The people at the desk called the owner to let her know when we would arrive. And when we got back very late from our tour, they found the schedule for the trains, sent us on our way, and then called the apt owner again to explain the situation and notify her that we would be later than expected. They always had suggestions and answered all our questions. Even though the hotel was full, they treated everyone like special guests. They provided a PC in the lobby as well as (free) wireless access throughout the hotel. Breakfast included rolls, cereal, cheese, prosciutto, fruit (including oranges from the courtyard), juice, milk, coffee, and tea. The breakfast room is large and airy, a very pleasant setting.

This is a very nice, friendly hotel at a great price. It is very conveniently located and is, in fact, walking distance to both the ruins of Pompeii, as well as excellent restaurants and the central square of the city. The room, though small, was spotless and tasteful. The bathroom was large (we stayed in a Superior Double room) and had a huge shower, the biggest we had in Italy. We had nice little outdoor sitting area as well. The room as very quiet and situated in a small side street off the bigger, busy street, greatly minimizing the noise. There was a parking area for our car. The hotel also has free computers for use in their lobby. Nice breakfast in the morning as well. Excellent directions provided by the hotel - we never got lost. I can highly recommend this hotel, and found Pompeii a much more pleasant city than expected. Also, we had an excellent private tour of the Pompeii ruins with Context Travel. Loved the breakfast- only downside is a lot of tiling in the rooms- didn't feel super cozy but was very clean and amazingly hospitable and helpful staff! There is a lift- but the stairs were the more convenient option. 3 days/Room 208- quiet at the end of the hall- small shower by USA expectations

Very nice hotel as a home base near the ruins of Pompei. We came here directly from Naples on the train with ease and then caught the train to Salerno and caught a bus to Ravello. We enjoyed our two nights here and would stay here again. The staff was extremely helpful with directions to train, the ruins, etc.

An excellent and recently enlarged hotel, with extremely friendly, welcoming, and efficient staff. Extremely clean, very good breakfast, nice garden, very close to the main station, and not far from the Amphitheatre entrance to the site. Have stayed before and will do so again!

My husband and I were delighted with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at Diana Pompeii. They went out of their way to help us with room arrangements for a friend who came with us though she didn't have reservations. They also helped with touring advice and reserving the same. We really appreciated their excellent English. The rooms were not large but amazingly efficient in design. Everything we needed was available. Terrific water pressure in the shower!

The staff was wonderful so helpful with recommendations for thiongs to do places to eat. Even looked up suggestions for us in different region. Great having parking behind the hotel, secure. Also it was great that we could leave our luggage in a secure area after we checked out so we can further tour the city.

I spent two nights at the Diana; it is thankfully in close proximity to the main Pompei train station. It is also conveniently close to the Pompeii site but thankfully removed from the main street and piazza. this made it easy to be a tourist on foot without being disturbed by noise and crowds when relaxing at the hotel. Service is warm and friendly; the hotel facilities are good, especially the breakfast room. One last thing, the hotel decor is reflective of the style and colours that have been discovered at the ruins; a nice touch I thought.

Hotel Diana staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful with suggestions and directions, including obtaining permission to enter some of the houses in the ruins usually closed to the public. The hotel's location is central for the ruins and for Naples - train station and Circumvesuviana. The only drawback during the period of my stay was occasional noise from renovations to the building. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience and I will definitely stay at Diana again.

We stayed for 2 nights and our stay was very good. Hotel in great location for the ruins which are only 5 mins walk away. Make sure that you take the Trenitalia train from Naples and not the circum. line as there are 3 stations in Pompei and trenitalia arrives at the Pompei station across the road. Pompei Scavia is about 20 mins walk away and Pompei Villa de Misteri is about 10 mins walk away. One small improvement - would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room.

The hotel staff was amazing. Very friendly, and knowledgeable. They made excellent suggestions for restaurants and places to see. The orange trees on the patio with our cafe was perfect. Room 1 is a little noisy because of the guests being loud. Because the hotel is so close to the train station it was easy to get around without a car. Great choice for a hotel.

I have a very good 3-day stay in Hotel Diana Pompei with my daugther. We were there on holiday. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We felt warm and welcomed there. The breakfast is good. I still miss the capuccino and pastry. The hotel is convenient, only a 5 mins walk from the train station. It is also near the Santuario Della Madonna Del Rosario and Pompei ruins. The room and hotel is clean. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends if they are visiting Pompei.

Great location just a minute's walk from the regional train station and a 10 minute stroll to the archaeological site. The information sent by the hotel with directions on how to find them was invaluable because the train personnel in Naples were not helpful. Very helpful and nice English speaking staff. Breakfast was plentiful if the selection was a bit limited. The room was small but clean and quiet. The bed was a bit uncomfortable.

A very nice hotel in a great area. The staff makes this place. We were late in arriving and they waited for us. Great recommendations for dinner and helpful for other directions. Only critique was the mattresses. They were a very hard foam type.

Room was extremely clean. Bathroom very large. Breakfast was adequate, though we were not aware that there was a charge for each cappuchino after the first one! Therefore were surprised when we saw those tacked onto the bill.We were not happy with the so called "Patio" that was accessible from our room.(We were on the ground floor.)It would have been nice if it had been enclosed with latice work or something to keep it private from the street. However the staff was really sweet and helpful with directions to everything we needed and were always friendly. I loved staying in Pompeii, and Hotel Diana was within walking distance to the ruins, to the train station(5 min away!) and to the whole town in general. We loved the stay.

The all young staff are very kind. Their hospitality is the best quality. So, I could enjoy staying at this hotel. The location is also the best, just near the station and the bus stop. I could easily walk to the Pompei ruins.

This an excellent hotel if you want to visit the ruins at Pompei. It is only a 10 minute level walk to one of the gates. I would be very happy to stay here again. The service from the reception area was warm and helpful and the room while quite small was otherwise very comfortable. Top value for money.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment I walked through the door, they made me feel completely at home. Nadia at the front desk did a superb job with suggestions and directions, and seemed genuinely concerned one day when I wasn't feeling well. Sonia, in the evenings, was also extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations. Everyone on the staff seemed very happy with life, which is a tribute to the owners. I encountered Nadia on a train and she said several times, "I love my job!" It showed. The room was sparklingly clean and the breakfasts had fewer selections than some hotels, but the croissants were delicious, the fruit fresh and the cappuccino about the best I've had. It was lovely to have breakfast in the garden. There are good restaurants in the area. In particular, I recommend La Situla around the corner and Il Principe on the square. The location, just across from the train station, is excellent for arrival, departure and day trips to Naples or Paestum. For Herculaneum, the Circumvesuviano is about a 5 minute walk, as the ruins themselves. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Many thanks to all!

All of the staff working at the front desk were extremely helpful to us. We decided to visit the ruins at both Pompei and Herculaneum. They gave us accurate information about the trains to Herculaneum, and very useful suggestions about what order to do our touring of the both sites. They also gave us great recommendations for restaurants in the area.
