Le Grand Hotel - Poitiers

In such a great spot. A little on the noisy side but because it is in such a great location with lots of activity on your doorstep. Great eateries and transport close by. Walk to Notre Dam, Lourve and good shopping. Staff speak good English and are very helpful. Good Breakfast. Would stay again

Good-sized quiet room, excellent condition. Good choice of restaurants nearby. The bistro opposite is very good - you'll prob have to reserve. Walking distance of the main sights. Don't try to use the city road map to find the hotel - just follow 'Parking Carnot' from any direction.

Very nice hotel indeed. Rooms look onto a courtyard away from the main street so quiet. Breakfast (on the roof terrace) may not be the cheapest but the service was friendly, attentive and generally excellent.

Very pleasant hotel, breakfast a bit expensive (12 euros)but excellent

We were stopping en route in Poitiers for one night so desperately needed a comfortable rest. The room was cold and characterless with the smallest, separate wc imaginable with an extremely inefficient extractor and no wash basin. There was no bath. The outlook was to the rear of the hotel looking straight into an office block. The hotel was in an excellent location, close to many restaurants. We did not have breakfast, not at €12 per head. In a location which attracts passing trade the reception staff should be encouraged to make the guests feel welcome. This is the second hotel booked through the Internet where we have been given an inferior room. I would definitely not stay here again and would be hard pushed to book through the Internet again also.
