The hotel was great for the price and in a prime location in the middle of Plymouth. The decor is 'a child of its time', although it was well maintained and pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

Good location, good service from staff but the rooms are rather faded (i.e. those that still need to be refurbished) but it is a good place to stay for its central location. Good comfortable beds too and good bed linen.

The hotel was ideal for our needs being central, with the additional benefit of secure car parking albeit at an additional charge, which I was happy to pay.The staff were extremely friendly and professional and although the rooms are not 'boutique style' they are perfectly clean and functional with tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing board and trouser press. They also had comfortable armchairs in which to sit to watch TV. My only adverse comments are, a firmer mattress and softer pillows are required to ensure guests have a good nights sleep and feel that the additional cost for breakfast was very expensive, if like me, all you want is croissants and coffee and this is the reason I marked down the value for money category. Despite this I will stay there again and eat breakfast out.

Stayed here 15 years ago and don't think a thing has changed. The service is excellent with proper hospitality trained staff. The place is stuck in the 80s with rooms needing an upgrade however it did have a kind of gentlemans club charm. The chocolate painted walls and beige decor were what you might call old school retro. The facilities in room where good although a flat screen telly instead of the big tubed telly would be welcome. But old school touches of ironing board and iron as well as trouser press were welcome. The room size is great and bathroom large and clean. Location is good at the top of the shopping run and easy access to sites and sounds of the city. On site parking was a plus in a busy city centre. Overall if you look past the dated decor and see it as an old school quality service hotel, it's a nice place to stay.

As I arrived at this hotel I didn't have too much faith when from the outside it looked like a 70's block of council offices. However Plymouth has been going through a lot of change and I thought maybe this is next. When I entered the property my eyes widened and my jaw dropped, I truly felt like I had stepped straight in to Crossroads Motel (First time around) is ultra, ultra old fashioned and the decoration is feeling in many areas...HOWEVER this must NOT distract from the wonderful staff and cleanliness. From reception to bar to restaurant the staff were so friendly and personable a trait missing in many hotels these days!!

Some issues with room. Chest of drawers unusable. It may not have already been reported. Lamp switch not working. Mini bar had been removed why? This is a 4 star rating but I would say 3 star may be 3.5.v Comfortable beds.

Very dated - like stepping back in time. Very clean but the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in!
