Hotel THB El Cid - Playa de Palma

This hotel is not 4*. Maybe it was 20 years ago. The service is apalling.......rude remarks were made to us under the breath of the receptionist and all we wanted was a kettle to warm a babies milk bottle!!!! The location is good and the beach is great but don't expect the hotel to be nice the decor is tired and outdated and the staff very rude.

I travelled with my husbond. It was the third time in Playa de Palma - we will come again.

I think the hotel is a little bit over rated. The h otel is ok but it is much more expenssive than other hotels in the area where the services are not much lower. We had expected a more modern room but instead it had old furniture The worst part of our staying happened one evening when they interrupted the hot water because some malfunction and they did not repair it until next morning I supose it can happen anywhere but the attitude of the staff was for sure not one of a four star hotel They just said that they can't do anything about it and did not mention any way to compensate the inconvenient. The food was excellent but not enough for the price shown

I booked the accommodation under a special offer for half board at www.venere.com. The instant email confirmation was great. The location is good. The taxi journey between the airport and the hotel is about 8 minutes and it costs 10-12 Euros (2004 price, and depending on how many pieces of luggage you've got). The beach is right in front of the hotel. I just want to lie around under the sun, by the swimming pool, overlooking the beach. El Cid is the one for me. If you are serious about trendy bars/restaurants/shops, you may want to choose another one near El Arenal but that will be further away from the airport. The food was also great, with many varieties. You will have a lot and a lot to eat. I give this 5 stars. However, one suggestion for Hotel El Cid. Why not provide a kettle and some complementary tea bags/coffee in each guest room? I may want to make my own tea or coffee but there is no kettle.

This hotel is located in Can Pastilla, in Playa de Palma, it is a wonderful hotel with good service. The location is not that good. Can Pastilla is dead at night. There are no clubs or bars that are active after 11:00. Arenal is close by, and there is more night life. City of Palma is not too far away. But Can Pastilla is not the best of place in Mallorca

It was the first time I had booked over the internet and I was a bit apprehensive. I was that impressed with everything that I have now booked for my parents to go to the same hotel in September 2004!

Four days spent here out of season,nice hotel and well situated for surounding area.Excellent value for money in relation to the room and facillitiesFood dissapointing and hotel full of old french people.Still nice break.

The hotel was very nice and was exactly as described. Unfortunately the staff was not very friendly towards english speaking customers although it could be that most of the hotel guests were German and French at the time of our stay (April)and that the staff was not used to dealing with english speaking guests. Despite that, I would definitely stay there again because of the location and the view!
