Silken Park Hotel San Jorge - Platja d'Aro

Very good value for the money. Good breakfast, fitness room available, easy access to a lovely beach, lovely room with a nice view. Internet was a bit spotty and slow.

Our stay at silken park hotel san jorge was lovely! we have been lucky to travel during the week (8-10 sept 09) as all staff were very relaxed and very helpful and friendly. we could change the room as we didn't like the first one offered (which was absolutely ok, but the other one was bigger and had an even better seaview). the hotel outside area, pool and beaches are great! there is a nice walk to both platja d'aro and to palamós along the beaches and rocks. we didn't try the spa, but it looked fine.

We enjoyed staying in this hotel. It is 20 min easy walk from city center and very peacefully located. Room with sea view worth paying some euro more. Awaking with the sound of waves and perfect view on sea ...invaluably. Breakfast, served as a buffet, is excellent and various. Beach is only a few steps away from the hotel. Path by the sea, leading to Platja d'Aro, has couple of beautiful small and not crowded beaches. We recommend this hotel to everyone who want to relax and enjoy.

I came during the off-peak season, so people there were mostly senior citizens :) I had a room with a sea-view, it's fantastic. The beach is about 10m away from my balcony. Staff was very friendly, location to the "downtown" area (with shops and restaurants) is excellent. Buffet breakfast is free, and the food is great. I intend to come back regularly, to rooms with sea-views :)

Our only complaint was that, given that it was low season and there only appeared to be two other couples staying in the entire hotel that night - they managed to put at least two couples in adjoining rooms!! Sadly, this meant that the couple next door woke us up when they returned and started showering at gone midnight - and we probably woke them up when we did the same at 6.30am!! The walls are quite thin so there is not need to do this. Fabulous location, excellent quality and at 55 euros for a double seaview room for the night -who is complaining? Not us :)

Breakfast hot food disappointing-cold bacon,eggs.Hot water from dispenser not hot enough. Little/no presence of staff in breakfast room(altho' a very quiet time a 4* hotel should have someone continuously on duty whilst b'fast is taking place. despite these gripes an excellent stay p.s. the hotel itself had a 3 nights for 2 offer on midweek which easily beat venere's price for the same nights

Hotel très confortable, dans un cadre magnifique; très pratique avec un bébé: parking devant la réception ( 7 euros/24 heures), et le soir buffet très copieux et très varié pour 18 euros par personne à partir de 19h30 (plus des plats à la carte). Petit déjeuner buffet inclus très copieux dans une salle surplombant la mer. Personnel parlant le français. Hotel situé au nord de Platja d'Aro (en bord de mer toutefois), à 10 minutes à pieds des rues principales et commerçantes. Une excellente adresse. A disposition: salle de fitness, jacuzzi, piscine extérieure.

The stay at the hotel was wonderful, except for one problem: upon arrival at the hotel, we found out that despite the reservation and the fact that we had a voucher, the hotel had no available rooms. After lots of arguments and discomfort, we received the rooms we reserved.

Bed Rooms 8/10. Beds ok, Bathroom Fine, AC worked, Sea View. Public Rooms 8/10 The Restaurant 4/10. Did not meet a 4 star rating; 1. Limited menu 2. Our first Dinner experience was our last. Steak was over cooked & blackened like the chefs first attempt at a barbeque. The vegetables comprised of mixed vegetables crisps. They must have had a tight budget for ingredients. We were not charged for the meal. 3 Breakfast was a limited buffet (few hot items), quality was not too bad, but the buffet was located in a narrow part of the restaurant causing jams of customers trying to collect food & staff trying to replenish food supplies, from the same side of the tables. Guests were not served Coffee at table, but were required to dispense Coffee from a machine. 4. Gordon Ramsey would have a field Day. (UK TV Restaurant trouble shooter) 5. I don’t pretend to be a fashion guru; But the Staff uniforms were drab in the extreme, a grey tunic top with black trousers/pants. I’m sure the janitors department would be depressed. I’m sure you could not find a member of staff who would be happy with what they had to wear. I bet this was a corporate decision.

Very nice hotel. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and very clean. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.
