problems, as soon as we're arrived. they pretended we had only one room reserved (we were 5 personns). after discussing, they apologized and gave us a second key for a second room, without explaination. The final bill was not correct, there was a 9 euros error. Icy welcoming. The swimming pool is really large and there is a tennis court. The rooms are very casuals but the country surrounding is wild and beautiful.

The hotel was very easy to find, just a short walk from the train station. We enjoyed the quaintness of the wooded surroundings. The location, in Sammomme, was only an hour train ride to Florence, yet it allowed us to experience authentic Italy. The hotel restaurant had fantastic homemade Italian food for very reasonable prices. The hotel manager was very friendly and spoke excellent English, making it easy for us to get sightseeing recommendations. It's an ideal place to get a break from big touristy areas and relax in the northern Tuscan hills that few people experience.

I stayed here in June 08. Nice location, albeit a little isolated if you have no car as you should take care of not missing your last train to return from Pistoia at around 19.20 approx. Its a little over an hour and a quarter to get from Arcobaleno to Florence with a transfer in Pistoia. To get there by car seems to be rather difficult as I met some guests that had that experience. The food was homemade and good & the scenery stunning, However the rooms can be described as one thing...SPARTAN! If you are into eco-turism, mountaneering, trekking, or just want to disconnect from the world this is a good hotel. However if you want to go to Florence and do touristy things its just a bit too "off the beaten track"

Hotel in the middle of nowewhere, lost in a forest on the hill. 14 km to Pistoia, 42 km to Florence. 10 minuts walking to train station. Nice and helpfull staff. If you like wine and food, please ask staff about wine testing. They will prepare great dinner with 7 dishes and 5 wines for you. There is a possibility to buy wines from Tuscany region.

Very smooth personell but the room, especially the bathroom, was really poor and not so clean. The location is really quite (the burg is inside a mountain wood). It's the cheapest near Florence but 3 stars is not the right category.

Wonderful place, the close station will help you to go to florence or pisa soon, about the hotel the rooms are small and the restroom smaller. The service is very good.

A mountain resort-style hotel at a hill town called "San Momme" on the hills above Florence. 15 mins drive up the windy steep hill from Pistoia. Not well sign-posted at all. Regular trains run each day from Florence, through Pistoia, to San Momme'S own small station. 5 min walk to hotel. Great for people wanting to get away from it all, as couple's or on a group trip. Excellent Swimming an tennis facilities. Quite walks nearby (steep hils). Lot of trees everywhere. We used it as a excellent value base for exploring the Florence area because the train was so convenient and Florence itself is anyway over run with tourists causing mass congestion. Would love to return one day during a hot summer with a big group of friends and family. Especially to enjoy the evening restaurant meals and superb home-style food and service. Pistoia is one of the highlights of our Italy tour. Well worth staying and enjoying the atmosphere of the old town and market area around end of day when bars and trattoria come alive and all the locals are out meeting and greeting each other.

The scenery may be wonderful, but this is definitely not a 3-star hotel. Most disappointing was the fact that the pool wasn't yet opened (doesn't open until 1st June - we were not aware of this) despite the temperature being above 30C. This should be clearly advertised on the web site.

We were warmly greeted by Chiara and Roberto. We received an excellent meal on the first night. As we were doing a lot of travelling and did not get back in time for dinner the next 2 nights. However, they offered us complimentary dessert and conversation that was much appreciated. The rest of the staff was also first class.

The hotel is not located in Pistoia but at 12 km of a road with a lot of curves. The place is beautifuk but it is far away from any restaurant and from anything in Pistoia. The restaurant menu what we took because we werw tired and did not want to spent 1hour of time between going to Pistoia and returing, was expensive (50€ 2 person) if we take in care that plates were preselected, there was no selection available. The breakfast was good, but thw hotel noisy.

I think the our room was the worste, maybe because we booked on line, there was not air conditioning, frigo bar, the television doesn't work and the balcony was in front of the street, the location is wonderful not so the hotel and the welcoming. Pay attention because the half borad means breakfast and dinner, the lunch has to be paied and a steak costs 60 euro!

Hotel was clean but rooms were very sterile like in a hospital. Hotel is very far from "civilization", in fact very far from Pistoia which is not clearly indicated on the website. However, the way to the hotel is well indicated.

The hotel has seen its best days about 20-30 years ago. It's in a very nice place at top of a hill, but inside it's like back to the 70's. No air conditioning. There is a large, clean ourdoor swimming pool and inside the hotel a biliard room. Do not expect any service here at least in English. When we arrived the girl at the reception didn't speak any English and directed us to a man who was laying in a soffa and wathing TV with a dirty clothes. It was obvious that we disturbed him. He didn't say anything to us, just gave the key. We had to ask some local people how to get to the place before we found it. It's in a place called Sammomme. The curved road up to the hill is very nice to drive and there are enough outdoor parking places. This place is not accessible without a car. Breakfast was included, but we didn't eat much because we were not very convinced of the hygiene. There is a bar and a restaurant downstairs so the room is not very quiet at night time.

Occorre un poco di manutenzione, ad esempio, l'immissione dell'acqua nello sciacquone spruzza, così basta tirare la corda per lare la doccia! Ma il posto è stupendo e il prezzo assolutamente economico, vale qualche inconveniente.

This place is excellent value for the money. It is possible to park your car and walk to train station for daily excursions. Help provided. Breakfast was good. If you do not want to eat dinner at location , you need to bring food in or drive for food ,except on weekends. You can eat at location for 18 euro each.

First impressions usually last but not true in the case of Hotel Arcobaleno. We arrived and were shown to an unprepared room and the general appearance is a 'bit rustic'. From then on it just got better - very friendly staff and jovial proprietor. Food was wholesome and wine choice awesome (hotel rightly prides itself in its range and quality). Certainly for the price this is vfm.
