I didn't like that we didn't have soap in the bathroom and that the breakfast wasn't included and they didn't have any glasses to give us for having a tea or something

Our time at Pensione Rinascente was excellent, with the owner able to check us in quite late in the evening. The room was spacious and very attractive. If anything, the pictures don't quite do it justice.

Lovely friendly host that have us lots of tips and information - we had the best dinner in Italy from the advice!! Convenient location, although a bit of a quiet, dark corner at night time.

This was a comfortable and characterful place to stay for a night while travelling to Siena; the facilities are rudimentary but clean and well-functioning, and it is good value.

It is a great location right near the main streets in Pisa. If this is what you want, then you will probably forgive the dated décor. Be carefull if you have a rucksack on your back and turn round that you don't knock over the ornaments which are varied and omnipresent

Lovely Hotel in the city centre, close to Piazza dei Miracoli. The room was big and really clean, the house was old and a "maze" of corridors and steps, not for everybody, but we loved its character. Paolo and his Aunt were really helpful with advice and tips.

The room was spacious but poor furniture layout with bed within 18" of door. Worn out sagging mattress with springs nearly poking through. Nice soft sheets though! Lots of street noise from people partying till well after midnight. shared baths were only a little better than a gas station for appearance, but plenty of hot water. One toilet upstairs for 3 guest rooms and one shower downstairs for all 6 guest rooms. Four flights of 9 stairs to reach hotel from the street. Hotelier was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for breakfast, looking up train schedule, helping carry luggage to room, storing luggage after checkout.

Hotel Rinascente is a beautiful hotel. The hotel has wonderful original details like the painted ceiling in our very large 4-person room. The interior has many antique furniture that makes it almost a museum. But most of all the very warm and entousiastic welcome of Paolo and his wife was really great. Their hospitality and humor made our stay at the hotel really unforgettable! The hotel is situated at the center of Pisa and all monuments including the tower are within walking distance. We absolutely reccommend this hotel!

Excellent 'all within walking distance' Pisa location. Live like a local! Very unusual accommodation - not a 5 star hotel but a genuine trip back in time. Paulo the host was fantastic and really lovely. Lota of steps but Italy is like that. It was like staying at my Grandma's house but with all the authentic old world charm. Not for everyone but we loved it!

Paulo and his Aunt were great! We arrived late and were hungry. He made reservations for us at a local place and then walked us there. We really felt like we were visiting a friend who happens to have a charming historic flat in Pisa. We'll stay again next time we visit Pisa. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Needs a lot of renovation. People were very friendly and helpful, but the bathrooms must be completely changed. Even if it was clean, it seemed dirty. The WC inside the shower was very unpleasant. Such a room was not showed in the photographs. It was announced as a hotel but it is in fact a pension.

I'm sorry but I don't speak nor write a very fluent English. My wife and I stayed in Pisa two nights.Hotel Rinascente, situated in the center of the town, is a typical Toscan house, full of charm and quietness.Hotel's customer , a clever lady of a certain age, offered an elegant and refined welcome " à l'italienne".We'll be back to that place with a great pleasure.

I want to write this hotel an excellent review, I really do...for example, the treatment we received from the owners was exquisite and the location can't be beat. However, there are some things that need to be improved before this hotel becomes a "must stay" destination. In fairness to the hotel though, I'm just going to write what we liked and didn't like and leave it at that. LIKES: - Location: It simply can't be beat. The Rinascente is within an easy 15 minute walk of the Duomo and the Torre Pendente. In addition, heading the other way is one of the major shopping and eating areas of Pisa so if you stay at this place you've got all angles covered. - Owners: Paulo and his aunt are great people. Every time they saw us they asked how we were doing and how they could help us. Paulo also was very helpful when we first got to the hotel, giving us tips of where to go, etc... - Room Size: We're used to the smallish European hotel rooms, so walking into a room that's bigger than your average bedroom is a pleasant surprise. - Cost: At 64 Euros a double, you're not going to find many places in this location at a cheaper price. - Air Conditioning: Our room had a pretty new air conditioner that worked great. We actually had to turn up the temperature because late at night we started getting cold. Those are great news in any hotel in summertime. - Free Wi-Fi: Good, strong connection every time we used it. Nothing to complain about here. DISLIKES: - No breakfast, enough said. - Room Furnishings: Our room, like the rest of the hotel, was furnished with furniture that has obviously seen better days. It's still functional for the most part but the wear and tear is starting to tell. For example, a couple of drawers had knobs missing, etc....also, while I personally enjoyed my sleep, I could tell that our mattress has seen a lot of use. How? There was a big dip, almost a depression, on my side of the bed. - Room Cleanliness: The hotel could do better in this area. For e

This is a good place to come if you are in a low budget and you want to be near the main touristic places of Pisa. This guest house is served by its owners, very, very kind people. However there are small issues that lower the general rate of this place: 1) we made a reservation for a private outside bathroom, and we found that both the toilette and the shower were shared. 2) A lot of noise early in the morning, you are sleeping and suddenly you are awake by the strong noise of unloadings. 3) The rooms are so big, that one would prefer a toilette inside the room rather than the multiple drawers that are useless.

Some of the hotel staff don't speak English almost at all, but was friendly. Hotel is located in the very heart of the old Pisa, near Piazza del Cavaliery. Interiors are very specific and authentic as if you live in the museum apartment, very nice. Our general impression of hotel is very good. We would defenately stay there next time.

I was treated like family at this hotel, and now have my very own Italian uncle! :-) Since I was traveling by myself, I was a little nervous about going places and exploring alone, but Guidi Paolo told me exactly where I should go and how to get there and I had a wonderful time! He walked me to my restaurant at night and then bought me breakfast, walked me to a fresh fruit market because I wanted to get some fruit for my train ride out of Pisa, and then bought my lunch! I was really treated like family and it was a joy to be there, I felt very safe even though I was alone.
