Park Hotel California - Madonna dell'Acqua, Pisa

This was the first time that we stayed at Park Hotel California. The staff were nice and rooms clean but in our opinion it is not a 4 star hotel. We would say a 3 star hotel. It is old and needs some refurbishing. It might have been a 4 star hotel some 20 years ago but not now.

A very nice hotel for the price but it came with the following negatives: The swimming pool was not filled with water for our stay in the hot month of June. It would have been better if the hotel indicated that the pool is not filled until the middle of June. Most travelers would expect to be able to swim in an outside pool in Italy in June (and we did at other Venere.com properties in the region during the same week). So this was a bit of a disappointment for us. The shower in our particular room was configured in a manner in which you had to sit while showering. Several dogs were barking nearby all night so we had to keep our window closed when it would have otherwise been a very pleasant night to sleep with the window open.

my ratings are NOT concerning the Best western. In fact, when i arrived to check in, i've been redirected to another hotel in the surroundings (same 4 star rated), because the concierge said they had a problem . I would have appreciated to be advised. In any case, i could see, from the outside, that best western is a nice hotel, and think that its relationship between price/quality is good.
