Well located, not far from main sights and quiet; local piazzas within easy stroll; easy bus / train links. We arrived mid morning at hotel and all four rooms were available.Overall a very enjoyable stay

Reasonable all round, EXCEPT breakfast: this was diabolical. It might have been OK if we were there at dawn but it was decimated by 9.30 (theoretically served to 10am). The member of staff who was on breakfast duty didn't seem to think it was her job to provide missing items. Ended up eating cereal with a teaspoon. Finally got a croissant after seeking out staff at the front desk! Otherwise, rooms reasonable and other staff helpful. Good location.

Professional and helpful staff, a little observation about the brakfast service - the girl was a little harsh in her way of corresponding with some of the guests. No big complaint but a slight remark.

A bit lacklustre. It was fine for a single person staying for a few days but the hotel was not particularly friendly and the pigeon droppings which remained in the breakfast room annexe for my entire stay were less than appetising.Breakfast also was very poor.Supplies ran out and were not replaced.Italy is supposed to be the home of good coffee and they had a cronky machine which dished up less than palatable drinks - try the cafe across the road instead. Some nice restaurants nearby.~I recommend the Pergoletta.

Spent three nights at the Verdi, and would stay there again. Clean and quiet, if modest, and well located. It's to the north of the river, about equidistant from the train station and from the tower. (Be advised, though, that it is a good 10-15 minute walk to each, so take that into account if you have mobility problems.) It sits away from the dirtier hotel area near the station and from the nighttime noise in Piazza Garibaldi. Close to museums, restaurants and shopping. Hotel service was competent, if a bit perfunctory. Breakfast better than expected.

Hotel Verdi was not at all bad, but I'm not sure I would stay there again. The room was fairly spacious (compared to our other hotels in Italy), as was the bathroom and shower. It was not too far to walk around Pisa, both to see the tower and to explore, and it was a bit off busy areas so it was never too loud or too crowded. Breakfast was also good, and there was good selection. The map was a source of frustration, though; take your time, and maybe pick up a more detailed map from the tourist office if you're going to try walking there. I would recommend a taxi. We were hot and frustrated by the time we found it, and a lot of trouble could have been saved by spending the 10euro. The room (and hotel) are extremely pink, which I found a bit oppressive, and we had zero view from the window. While I have complaints, they are mostly superficial. If you're looking for a moderately priced hotel, you should consider it as an option. It certainly was one of the roomier places we stayed.

The hotel is nice and comfortable as expected for a 3 star and the location is very central. Staff could be a bit more helpful, specially on arrival. However, according to the Venere website for Verdi, "The property features different amenities such as Wi-Fi Internet connection throughout the hall". When asking about the service, I was informed that there WAS NO Wi-Fi Internet connection as promised in the website. This was for me a decision factor to stay in this hotel as I needed Internet connection for my business and I needed to use my own computer for dealing with files. I felt that I was mislead by the WRONG information on the website.

We stayed here for a weekend to visit the historic city including the tower. The hotel itself was good, but the employees were not interested at all, When we arrived, we just received the key and didn't even receive any directions how to find or room. Breakfast was very common, just some bread and chees, meat, some marmelade and we even had to ask for the bread, the tableware was not enough, sometimes we had to wait till the empoyee finished the dishes to get a knife. Pisa is a nice town, but hotel Verdi was a disappointment

Not bad. Typical 3* hotel for a quiet and relaxed stay. Not a 'corporate' hotel, more of a family atmosphere. Bathroom was small though, built for Italians I would say. Couldn't turn in the shower, but shower itself worked fine. Temperature in the room was good. I don't like my hotel rooms warm. Heating could be switched off, plenty of ventilation. Windows can be openend to let in fresh air. Close enough to all the land marks in Pisa.

Pisa was beautiful and the Hotel Verdi was positioned in an ideal location, approximately a 15 minute walk from the Tower and other major attractions. Restaurants and bars were a 5-10 minute walk away. The hotel was slightly rundown. Room size was ok as was the decoration in it but the bathroom left alot to be desired. The shower drained very slowly we had a leaky toilet (waterfall from the systern)and mould was abundant on the ceiling. That aside the hotel was quiant and charming.

A good basic hotel for Pisa. It's quite a walk from the Leaning Tower (about 20 minutes), but the upside is that the hotel is in a quiet area. I also appreciated the Internet service, which is reasonably priced.

This hotel, taking into account the price and facilities available, was by far the best we experienced in Italy (versus Florence and Rome). Highlights were free internet, fridge in room, very large room, the "best" breakfast (incl in price), walking distance (and we have 2 young children) to tower, city centre and train station.

This hotel was lovely. We had a quad (for a family of four) and it was very spacious. It was in a nice neighborhood, near the river, which was beautiful to walk along in the evening. It was not in the immediate vicinity of the Tower, but we preferred that. (It's not a big city, so the Tower is not a long walk away.) For the price, this was a great hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

As a family of 3 (age 40, 40 and 13), this hotel was ideal for our stay in Pisa. Stayed for 3 nights. Upon arrival the man at reception was a little miserable, was obviously hard work to smile. You also got the feeling from the breakfast staff that you were an inconvenience to them in the morning, as none of them could raise a smile. They appear to be quite unhelpful too. Breakfast was adequate, but no fresh fruit available. That aside the hotel was excellent value for money and clean. However, to walk to the tower, (the main reason for going) took about 30 minutes. Good idea to have a satnav with you if driving as well, due to all the one-way roads around the hotel.

Not a very warm welcome as we arrived quite late in the evening, but neither unwelcoming. The room we stayed in was nice, quite as it was situated at the back, so no noise from outside. We travelled Italy for 3 weeks, with triple share accomodation the whole way,and this was the only Hotel that did not provide a comfortable 3rd. bed. Also was a 20min. walk to Leaning Tower etc. Lovely walk if you are able, may be too far for some people.

This hotel is ideal for a one night stopover. Very close to Pisa and the railway station where we walked from. The room was very disappointing though. Not only small with a window that looked out to a brick wall, but also the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. Luckily we were only here for a night. There is a small square down the road with a number of restaurants around it. We picked the least commercial looking one and it was fantastic. It looked like Mamma's kitchen. Menu's written in Italian only on scrap paper with half a dozen items to chose from. You couldn't order a bad meal. Wonderfull. Oh and there's a tower down the road too.

We stayed at the Verdi twice. The hotel is in a quiet location about 10 minutes walk from the Leaning Tower. The first room we had was very dark and quite small but the second one was big. Both rooms were quiet, clean and the reception staff were helpful. The public areas are quite small so this is not a hotel to stay in and relax at.

We arrived quite late in the evening at the hotel and were pleased to find the receptionist (who spoke excellent English) very helpful. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom and the shower was good. Our only criticism was the very noisy air conditioning which contributed to a bad nights sleep for two out of three of us. Breakfast was sufficient although it was a pity the only coffee available was from a machine. They were happy to let us leave our luggage there while we explored the city as we were leaving later that day. On the whole a very good experience.

Excellent position and parking facilities. A family-run(down)hotel. Things which did not work in the room never got fixed despite assurances. Even the lift gave up the ghost just when we needed to check out. Staff mildly helpful but a bit indifferent. Breakfast room and public areas not aesthetic, likewise our room. However we were able to be acccommodated in a quadruple room which was important for us. I would not return to this hotel

I was so disappointed with this hotel. The staff were so rude it was unreal. I have stayed in other hotels on your website that were excellent however, this one was the pits. I will forward you a photo of the view from our room which was nothing short of a dump. While the room was clean when I arrived there was no third bed in the room. When I approached the reception staff I was told in a very abrupt manner that there was a bed but I would have to pull the chair out myself after all this was only a 3 star hotel and what did I expect. This is no way to treat paying guests. The bar never opened and the breakfast was not good. I would rate this hotel overall as a 1-2 Star apart from the cleanliness of the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to the rude and unpleasent manner in which the reception staff treated us and it does not live up to the standard of your excellent website.

Good English spoken by everyone on the 24/24 reception. All staff very friendly and efficient. Buffet breakfast of good standard. Hotel really is only 15 mins walk from the Leaning Tower etc. The Tower, Cathedral and Baptistry were more impressive than anything we saw in Florence, and the campagnile in which they are set is bigger and more peaceful than we had expected. Well worth paying to visit the interior of these monuments.

Would not recommend a stay at Hotel Verdi. Staff on duty during stay did not make us feel welcome, in fact upon check-in, we felt like we were disturbing the man on the desk (watching tv). Hotel room was clean but room overlooked a dirty 'courtyard' and there was an awful smell coming from the sink in the bathroom. So pungent was the smell that we had to put the plug in the sink when it wasn't being used!! Tried to get a drink in the bar during the evening - bar consisted of warm cola, fruit juice and two chairs. We had to keep walking back to Reception to be served as member of staff was busy setting up for breakfast the next day. Not much to do in Pisa apart from to visit the Tower which is a shame because it is a very attractive city. Would recommend staying overnight in the city if you have an early flight in the morning (as we had) but other than that, I would only spend an hour or two there. Will certainly not be returning to the Hotel Verdi!

I was very disapointed with my stay at this hotel. We had booked a triple room for one night (my mother, sister and myself) and we were give a double room with a fold out chair that converted into a single bed. The room was ice-cold and felt like the heating had not been turned on at all (not particularly good in January). We arrived on a late flight to Pisa, so we didn't get to the hotel until after midnight and at that stage we just needed to sleep. We all spent a very cold night there, but the bathroom faciltites and shower did seem to be fine the next morning & partially revived myself at least. Breakfast was okay, but nothing to write home about. It is about a twenty minutes walk away from the Leaning Tower and you will need to get a taxi to and from the airport and train station to get there. All in all, I wouldn't recommend staying in this hotel. The price and the quality of the facilities didn't match, and I was sorely disappointed with my stay there. The subsequent accommodation we had in Florence for around the same price was far superior.

Lovely room in nice smallish hotel in nice location. A good walk to the torre...but a great way to see the Pisa center.... and the old city center is a pretty easy to navigate walk. Nice room, great shower with excellent water pressure! Nice breakfast and very nice staff. If we are back in Pisa we will stay there again. Very clean. Very very good value for the money. The photo online shows only the front facade...this hotel is much nicer than the darkish photo indicates. We were able to park nearby which was convenient as well.

This is the first time we have visited Pisa. We found it a lovely and lively city. The area around the Leaning Tower was obviously busy but the heart of the city provided the true Italian picture - interesting streets, individual shops and superb restaurants (best ones off the main thoroughfares). The city was clean apart from graffiti in some areas. The Hotel Verdi is in a good central location for touring the area. The staff were helpful without being intrusive and is an excellent base for exploring. We visited the historic town of Lucca (20 mins by train)and would recommend a visit. In conclusion, Verdi is a good hotel which I would visit again.

We arrived quite late at night at the hotel so it was helpful to have a 24 hour reception. The hotel is located about a 20 minute walk from the station, opposite the law courts, and the surrounding area is quite pleasant and only a short walk to the central shopping district and an easy walk to the Leaning Tower. The room we had was very small and over crowded with furniture and I was initially disappointed, especially given the 115euro a night charge (Double room, B&B). There was a tiny en suite bathroom attached with a good shower. That said it was a nice big bed with a good firm mattress and fresh clean bedding so we slept well. The breakfast was continental but the best one we had in our stay in Italy - fresh baked croissants, ham, cheeses, fruit and juices. The room was very quiet indeed even though it faced onto the square. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in a central location.

The hotel is fairly easy to reach from the train station; coming, we took the bus; going, we walked. The walk from the hotel to the campo di miracoli (Leaning Tower) is an easy 15mins, and goes through some of the nice piazzas and pedestrian areas of town. The neighbourhood of the hotel is a bit spooky at night (graffiti and empty streets), but nice restaurants and snack bars are nearby. The hotel staff was helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations. Upon our arrival, the room was prepared as requested (with a baby cot). The lavatory was nice and everything worked. We heard absolutely no noise during our 1-night stay, either from outside or from within the hotel. The hotel breakfast is what you would expect, and competently presented: caffé and juice, pastries and breads, cheese and ham, cereal and milk.

Overall a very nice stay. When I booked, I asked for a cot to be made available for our 20 month old and it was there waiting for us when we arrived. There were also clean sheets and towels every day. Breakfast was OK - juice, coffee, bread/croisaents, cakes fruit etc. The only issue I had was that the Bar was either unattended or unstocked, but otherwise no complaints. It was a 10 minute walk to the tower and in a nice quiet area. I'd be happy to stay there again and will do if I go back to Pisa.

Hotel Verdi is well situated for walking around the historical area, and only about 15 minutes from the Tower. And similarly to the railway station. Rooms are good and clean, everything worked, including the air con. Its construction is very solid so you don't get noise from your neighbours. Only 6 rooms look out to the piazza, most are onto a narrow lane, which is quite ok. It is in a quiet area of town opposite the law courts. Pisa has a frightful one-way system and it took us over an hour to find it from the airport via our hire car. We tried using Venere.com exclusively (except for two cities) for a 20 day excursion to Italy, two families (8 persons) and I am basing my comments on the European standard for hotels, services and the prices charged. We avoided staying in “Center City” to thus avoid the high prices of the “Tourist Traps” we were never more than 1 Euro away in a bus or subway. The trip spanned Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice, Cremona, Parma, Borgo Val Di Taro, Rapallo and Milan. Hotel Verdi was our third stop. There was a real pleasant surprise when we got to this hotel. It had been tuff finding a hotel in the price range we wanted in Pisa. The photo on Venere.com or its own website does not do it justice. I told the owner to change the photo quickly. The other families that were forced to stay in a different hotel were also impressed. The rooms were at least 3 stars above the European standard, had air conditioning that was working well during the “Italian heat wave”. Internet access was WIFI, charges applied, because our room was above the bar we had Internet access from our room. It was walking distance to the Leaning Tower. The hotel had two reserved spots right in front if not parking was on the street and it was fairly easy to find.

we only stayed two nights but were very pleased with everything about the hotel. Just a short walk from the tower as well.

In a very noisy area, no parking available. Out of hours reception staff indifferent. Would not recommend or stay again. Streets outside very noisy, most TV stations not available.

Charming and reasonably well located, however The Duomo Plaza and Leaning tower were not too far (walking distance). Helpful staff willing to try English, French, German and Italien to speak with / help you. Our stay was brief but would stay again when in Pisa.

We were only at the hotel for one night but we were delighted with the cleanliness of the room and its general condition. Having spent the previous two nights at the Fenice Palace in Florence, we rather preferred the Hotel Verdi and found Pisa altogether charming. The Verdi is ideally situated for visiting the main sights on foot and we were sorry not to be able to spend more time there. We would certainly use this hotel in future and will recommend it to friends visiting Pisa.

On our first night we discovered, through having a old shower that we had no hot water. We mentioned this and were told there was a system failure. We understand that systems do break down but it would have been nice to have been warned beforehand rather than be shocked by cold water. Other than that we liked the hotel.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, good en-suite. Hotel is situated 10 minutes walk away from the tower so it is quieter and less touristy. I won't bother trawling the net to find alternatives next time, we will just book and stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit though most of Pisa - bars, restaurants etc appears to be closed in August. We'd have liked a room with a view of the street but didn't get this option.

Ok for one night. I would'nt have liked to stay longer because the room was dark and the hotel located in a not very interesting area. In fact, Pisa is'nt very interesting for a tourist apart from the...tower. If you are looking for a halt what about siena which is only one hour by car and is simply wonderful.

The hotel was good because the staff were very welcoming and helpful. However the breakfast was not much better than poor.

The room was a bit too dark and quite basic to compare to other hotels we stayed in Lucca and Firenze. The water pressure was excellent but the shower was fixed to the wall which I didn't like. The room was spacious with a very high ceiling.
