Lovely historic hotel in a perfect location - quiet yet steps away from the Piazza Dei Miracoli - the Duomo and the Tower. Only comment about the room was that it was warm, there was no air-conditioning and there were some mosquitoes . The management might consider screens on the windows and a fan in the room for greater comfort.

Everything about this hotel was superb. I arrived exhausted after a 20-hour journey and immediately felt relaxed and at home. Several of the staff had experience at top London hotels and had returned home to Pisa to be with family. However, they were more than happy to talk to me in Italian, as I was there to practice the language. The breakfast buffet was top class, the best I have had in Italy. In fact, this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Italy and, at only 70 Euros for a single room, by no means the most expensive. Water and soft drinks from the minibar were also free of charge and a laptop was available without charge. In the morning it poured with rain but I still felt my holiday had got off to a wonderful start.

Beautiful hotel, with professional and helpful staff. The rooms are small, but quiet, with very comfortable beds and sheets, and elegantly furnished. I most enjoyed my visit and this hotel would be my first choice if I went to Pisa again.

This tastefully appointed hotel in a historic house is utterly charming. Provision of afternoon tea, between 5 and 6pm, is much appreciated after a day's sightseeing. Everything on offer at breakfast was of high quality. The staff were delightful and prepared to go to some trouble to be of assistance - they all had a good sense of humour. Sophisticated English was spoken. The welcome relaxed one immediately. The restaurant recommendation for dinner was excellent - a family run establishment to which I returned with great pleasure.

Inspite of being told about this wonderful chef the restaurant was closed on the first of my two nights stay, so the restaurant next door was recommended. I had a very good meal in it too. The second night I had dinner at the hotel and I was really looking forward to it. I have to say my risotto was very salty and my vitello very ordinary, so I was rather disappointed after expecting excellent food from the advert. The hotel itself was great and staff very helpful. Enjoyed the welcome drink and the outside dining surrounded by the greenery & fairylights - apart from the mosquitos!

Excellent service - very helpful and supportive. Good facilities. Lovely bijou garden. Good breakfasts. Reasonable value for money. The room we had was a bit small and dark. It had no bath. Not quite as superlative as other 5 star hotels we've stayed at in Italy. Service was clearly 5 star, but facility wise more a very good bistro four star hotel.

Deceiving stay because of.. noise. Before coming, we especially asked for a quiet and calm room. When we arrived we were given a room..just near a very noisy family with children running in the hall, slamming the doors at night, screaming.. We didn't sleep at all: we could hear everything happening in the room next door (no isolation). Moreover, the room was very tiny. We spent 200 euros in the hope to have a wonderful stay and we didn't sleep well, seeing no difference between a five stars and a two-stars hotel (except the price..). When the customer asks especially for a quiet room, the hotel should be able to respond positively to it. Could have been fresh juices for breakfast.. Otherwise, everything was OK (the garden, the service, etc).

This was meant to be a 5 star hotel but we found it disappointing and less welcoming and less well appointed than other lesser rated hotels in the area. It is however centrally located in the city and on a quiet street. Service was patchy.

Absolutely First Class! We arrived at this hotel late on a dark and rainy Italian night & how the welcome from the receptionist (fluent in English)lifted our spirits. Shame we didn't have use of their complimentary umbrellas at Pisa Airport! Despite the hotel experiencing a lack of electricity on our first night & as a consequence we sat on the stairs, locked out of our room (card style keys)for some 45 minutes, the staff were very obliging and provided candles & every assistance possible whilst rectifying the fault with the hotels main fuse box. Breakfast the following morning was a delight, as once again, were the staff. The choice of food was tremendous and catered for all tastes. We enjoyed Pisa immensely; the culture, the individual shops, the people and of course, our climb to the top of The Leaning Tower. Just wish we could have stayed longer & certainly hope to return here. Mille grazi PS: The Lindt chocolates, chilled bottled water & toothbrushes/toiletries in the room were much appreciated.

Excellent relaxing hotel - staff excellent, restaurant excellent(worth the money when we used it) but great selection of restaurants round about, rooms quiet, great location for the historic sights and the shops, wifi worked in the room. The hotel provided cold food and wine for our very late arrival which was very good. Basically no problems - if you wanted anything, you just needed to ask.

Only disappointment was that we needed breakfast at 7.15 but breakfast didn't officially start until 7.30. Very little was made available to us. We were only staying one night, and for the price we paid we had hoped for at least some breakfast!

Rather difficult to get to the hotel by car due to missing signes in the city. Possibility to park on the street for 10 Euro (arrangement done by the hotel) or in the hotel parking area for 30 Euro. It's a high standing hotel in a historical old building, but providing all comfort. Close to the sightseeing area.

Excellent location and charming building. Small but interesting rooms but dreadful air conditioning system that barely worked and relied on speaking repeatedly to Reception to set the temperature. Vicious mosquitos if you leave the windows open instead. Restaurant double the cost of good alternatives in the area away from the tourist traps. Brunos and Nandos restaurants very good, we had two excellent meals at Brunos. The Hotel is charming and really well located, but lacks many of the services one expects for a 5 star property. Having looked round the City it is the best hotel in the location and such alternatives as Bagni di Pisa are too far out. One overpays for the scarcity of alternatives.

Room was next to the staff service room so woken very early in the morning to hear someone washing up next to my head. The following morning woken at 7am by muzak playing loudly in the garden. Had to phone down to reception and ask them to turn it off. Our room was minute, too small really for two people (at that price). Restaurant manager is arrogant in the extreme and rude. I paid 30 euro for a rack of lamb which I had to send back as I couldn't eat it (looked as if it had been boiled). There was no apology and this was not deducted from our overall bill when we checked out. Garden is fabulous, honestly, but every time I went out there to sit with my book, the barman immedately turned on the music. They don't seem to understand that some people just want to be quiet. Disappointing.

Restaurant was VERY expensive but otherwise a beautiful hotel. Tall guests might not want a top floor room as the medieval beams are a little intrusive - had to duck to get into the shower!

The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was very small but clean and well supplied eg. the mini bar was free and there were masses of towels etc. The breakfast had a very wide choice. The location was excellent for visiting the leaning tower which is just around the corner. Afternoon tea was provided free. Our experience was very good.

This hotel was a wonderful, charming (though expensive!) B&B for a vacation, but really not ideal for a business traveler, which was the purpose of my trip. There was no internet connection or desk in my room and the wireless in the reading room on the 3rd floor was too slow to be effective. Also the restaurant was rather expensive (my basic meal of salad, lamb and 3 glasses of wine came to 100 euros, though again with exquisite high quality)with primi piatti ranging around 25-30 euros. In general, I would highly recommend this hotel for well-off vacationers (who were well represented) but not for the practical traveler and certainly anyone on a budget.
