The price matched the facilities and services so that was great! Polite and helpful staff. The air-conditioning in the initial room they gave us didn't work but they were kind enough to give us another room with a working air-conditioning. Hotel is located near to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Overall good value for money.

Thia was our rfirst stay at the Leonardo - we arrived late due to flight delay which meant we arrived after dark, this made finding the hotel difficult, but during the day it may well have been easier. The position was ideal for the tower and Duomo and the staff were extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and bus times and relevant stops. A really great hotel and experience

Hotel Leanardo is a very simple old fashioned hotel. The room was comfortable if a little small but very clean. There was a bit of noise from builders outside but we get up early most mornings so this didn't bother us too much. The receptionist was a young man, I can't remember his name - he was so friendly and very helpful, really boosted our stay with his friendly chat and was always happy to help us with any queries we had. Breakfast was ok, the usual stuff nothing special. A bit expensive overall for what it was but nice hotel all the same.

Ok. An honest useful review! We stayed at the Leonardo for three nights and thought it was great! DONT expect 5 star luxury, our room was small, but it was clean with fresh linen and towels every day. The breakfast is basic, but is good to fill you up ready for the day. Location is right in the heart of Pisa, just a short walk from the Tower. The best thing about the Hotel was the Staff, they were brilliant. Always helpful and happy, nothing was too much trouble. If you want somewhere to stay right in the heart of the city with good staff and clean rooms then this is the place!

Leonardo has a good location and friendly staff. Breakfast is included but you should be there when it starts as there are no coolers and when it's 30 degrees... We could park right outside the hotel for free. The room had a/c but was very small. When opening the door you had to jump right to bed but for just one night or two it's okay.

The bedroom was clean if unremarkable, the bathroom spotless but small and rather cramped. The hotel itself is located in a narrow, cobbled back-street, but is roughly halfway between the Campo dei Miracoli (Tower, Duomo etc.) and the river, with all the main sights within reasonable walking distance. Pisa centre is also compact enough that both the airport and main railway stations are within 1-2km from this hotel.

I stayed just one night with my mother of 70 years old. It was very uncomfortable because the there was problems with water in the bathroom and the room was full of water. The room was dark and sad. My bed light was out of order. The fridge was almost in the middle of the room!. Breakfast was ok but the daning room was so full of people that we had to wait to get a table and when got a table there were no more cups. I have travelled many times in Europe choosing my hotel through Venere, but this was certainly the worst accomodation. However, the position in Pisa was excellent.

This was a pleasant hotel with nice welcoming people, the breakfast was fine the bedroom quite small and there was no bar as described on the information, the Hotel is close to the Tower, we wish we had stayed in 2 to 3 different areas i.e. Rome or Florence as well as Pisa as once you have seen the Tower area there isn't much more to see - also beware of people bearing gifts i.e. turtles and elephants they are basically trying to sell you a swahili necklace and can become quite agressive if you dont accept their offers. A good restaurant to go to is in the side street near to the Tower

Very central hotel, but rather off-putting in regard to the location down a fairly dark side-street which could be a bit intimidating especially due to the rough surface. However the hotel is quite close to the maion shoppping street and only about 10 minutes walk one way to the River Arno and the same the other way to the Leaning Tower, Duomo and Baptistry. Fine for the one night we spent there, but not really for a longer stay.

I stayed at the Leonardo in a single room just for 1 night. It was the smallest room I ever saw, I could ear my neighbours snore, and my window was facing a wall. On the other hand, it's clean, the area was very beautifull and walking distance to all the interesting place. The lady at the lobby was very nice but I was happy that it was only a 1 night stay! I payed 85€ for it and the breakfast was not what i expected even if it is impossible to be hungry after leaving the table. I would recommand this hotel only for one night and for the location.

A disappointing stay. I was greeted by gruff staff and the cleaning staff stood in the doorway smoking. When I got in the lift, there was an indeterminate liquid pooled on the floor which I had to be careful to avoid putting my luggage in. The room was dingy and had clearly been decorated in the 1970s and not been thought of since. The TV was very old and did not work properly and there was a film of dust over most of the furniture. Outside the room was quiet as the hotel is situated on a backstreet but noise from other rooms was clearly audiable. The stay would have been adequate if it had not been for the poor staff who were unhelpful, rude and incompetent. I was also charged more than the price quoted and confirmed by this website but I had not realised until I left the hotel. I would not stay here again.

Hotel Leonardo is small, not particularly attractive, but properly maintained, and the location was perfect. The rooms were clean, quiet, w/AC, but small (as most European rooms are). From the hotel we walked everywhere. Note to other travellers: as you can't drive inside the historic part of the city, just take the bus from the airport & walk to the hotel (5 min walk from the river).

Taxis can't go down the road, at least at the moment, which would cause problems to anyone with mobility issues, etc. Fabulous location. Nice places to eat just round the corner. You can walk to all the main sights and nearby are local traditional street vegetable markets, as you go towards the river.

This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in on our Tuscany break it is located in the student quarter in a narrow smelly alley and the room whilst clean was poorly equiped very cramped and dismal. The TV was mounted 10 feet above floor level and there was no way of relaxing in the room apart from laying on the bed. This was made worse by the fact that there were no public areas where you could chill out. The toilet like the room was clean with decent towels and the hot tap deliver hot water but the shower was very erratic and water constantly dripped into the WC The Breakfast selection is quite good but the room is very small and crowded making the "meal experience" very poor The hotel is close to the Tower and other attractions so if like us you just need to stay one night its probably ok but if you intend staying longer be very wary.

Rooms were reasonably clean but sparsely furnished. Hotel was 'old fashioned' but with character - murals and mirrors everywhere. Breakfast adequate - normal continental buffet. Quite a distance from the railway station, although well signed when you get to the river - a taxi will cost around 7 euros. Close proximity to all tourist sights. Staff very helpful - especially one young lady who's name we failed to take (very pretty, blond hair, good english) who sorted out our flights (we were there during the August terrorist crisis) and arranged a taxi for us to the airport. She also recommended an excellent restaurant(alle bandierine) and telephoned to ensure it was open - a little tip, don't go to Pisain during August, many of the shops and restaurants are closed for their holidays!!!

Really good location: close enough to the Tower for a pleasant walk through charming streets and piazzas but far enough away to miss the hoards of visitors. Area is quiet but there's plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. Very friendly, helpful and competent staff. Seems a lot of money to pay for the level of accommodation but price was consistent with the area.

Room 40 which we were allocated was on the top floor. It was very small and the shower room was equally small. No clear indication of fire escape routes and no obvious escape route except by main staircase (The room did have a fire door) No window in the room other than a small skylight window approx 50cm square This was not accessible and did not open in anycase so even this would not have provided an escape route in the event of a fire. Perhaps other rooms are better but avoid anything on the fourth floor

The Leonardo is a basic hotel, in a great position to see the sights of Pisa, only 5 minutes walk from the tower and Duomo. It is set in an ancient street, and has three parking spaces right outside. The rooms are clean and funtional, ours looked liked it needed a lick of paint but was fine. We did have great difficulty finding it despite having a map, and gave up in the end and parked in a nearby square and walked, however once we were there the lady on reception was very helpful and gave us very clear instructions on how to park, she even went out in a thunder storm with an umberella so my husband did'nt get wet! We would definitely use this very central hotel again if we were staying in Pisa.

The room we got was on the top floor. Positive aspects were the good closing and isolating door of the room and the breakfast. Negative aspects: You were practically thrown out of the breakfast room when time was up. As regards the room, the bed was not even 2 meters long and the mattress urgently needed to be replaced. Early in the morning you were woken up by the many pigeons on the roofs, but this was not really the problem. The main problem was that the room was full of spider nets, quite dusty, the carpet floor not even vacuum cleaned and the bathroom floor not properly cleaned. Not really worth the price, but still never as horrible as the Hotel Villa Ombrosa on the Elba Island!

This place was DISGUSTING - the first room they put me in was next to the front door - at first I thought it was a joke. It was literally right next to the front door. I asked for a different room and the woman seemed annoyed so she moved me to another room which seemed fine, I was in a rush to see the leaning tower and didn't have time to really inspect. When I returned I discovered that the stench of smoke was almost unbearable. On top of this the motor of the elevator is located in the room somewhere so I was up all night listening to the elevator run. To top this all off the breakfast was inedible. It's hard to believe that bad coffee could exist in Italy but it did here - perhaps it was instant? The cereal was stale, the juice was warm, the meat and cheese were dried on the edges, in general it was grotesque. When I complained at check out they knocked 20€ off the price but it was still expensive. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY - AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Leonardo is a nice small hotel in a quiet street. It has kept its Italian charme and it's very clean and safe (especially the room doors!). The main attraction, the tower of pisa, is in walking distance, about 5 to 10 minutes. The staff was very friendly and flexible. The price is, compared to other cities, quite expensive, but in Pisa hotels generally seem to be more expensive than in many other places. It's worth a stay!

Freundliches Personal, Service und Frühstück okay. Trotz der Lage in einer Nebenstrasse sehr hoher Lärmpegel von außen, da keine isolierten Fenster. A modern recently refurbished hotel but lacking the character of many of the cheaper pensione's, also the breakfast was somewhat uninspiring with the coffee being very watered down. The room was OK with a nice bathroom but not very spacious.

This is more like a struggling 2 star hotel than a 3 star. The ugly brown formica in the room, tatty and tired reception area, unattractive location, odd industrial feel to the building and the uncomfortable itchy feeling in the bed which resulted in itchy bites combined to form a decidedly uncomfortable stay in an extremely average hotel. Having paid 20 euros more the previous night to stay in a gorgeous hotel in San Gimignano it felt extremely expensive too. Oh, the breakfast was revolting. I wouldn't recommend it.

Nice hotel. Did not get a view of Leaning Tower as suggested on pictures and website but then did not specifically request it. Friendly staff with good English. Convenient location

This hotel was very handy for a one-night stay-close to airport, Tower and main shops. Room was clean and basic- view from window superb. Breakfast is very basic. Reception staff are very helpful.

Room very small; equipped with 4 beds for 2. Mosquitos !!! No German SAT program such as RTL. Breakfast again poor - as usual in Italy. Friendly service and cheap snacks in close surroundings.

On the ground floor, where our room was, the view turned out to look onto a heap of debris in an internal courtyard. No natural light came into the room, which was, as a result, extremely dark. The room was noisy in the morning due to neighbouring breakfast room. Announced discount possibilities with neighbouring restaurants were not even mentioned upon arrival. Request to move rooms could not be accommodated.

A good hotel at a reasonable price. Good location within 5 minutes of most of the areas of interest in the City. Some excellent and very cheap restaurants nearby.

Our stay at the hotel was ok.The picture on the internet showing directly outside the window the tower of Pise was incorrect, and misleading ! The tower is not far but not as close as the picture intends to show. The breakfast wasn't terrible ! The orange juice was completely artifitial! I think what customers prefer is at least pure orange juice in the morning . For the price of the hotel this should be possible !

Hotel was very difficult to find. But it was an interesting walk from the train station. Breakfast was average in room without much ambiance.

When I arrived the receptionist came out to help me park my car. He was enthusiastic and helpful. The service was excellent. The prices matched. The room left something to be desired where space was concerned. However, it was clean and comfortable.

There was no real breakfast on offer, which was disappointing. For Euro 100 a night I would have thought I would get some fruit or bread. Also, there was no hot water in the shower, which did not matter in summer, but may have been a problem in winter

Expensive for what they offer. We didn't have a real window in our room (just a small dormer and a poor shutter very hard to open and close ... not very convenient...) so light were missing. They also made us pay 4 euros for a bottle of water (not even cold)!!!! Stay in this hotel for 1 night is OK but not more. There are only 2 pictures on their website and they are both "wrong". No room have a view on the tower and you absolutly can't see the tower from the hotel. Very bad.

In the room we had, the only window was at least 10 feet from the floor. You could not reach it even if you stood on the bed. Maybe some of the rooms had a tower view that was advertised, but definately not the one we stayed in. We were also led to believe there would be a refrigerator in the room. There was not. They advertised the hotel as being in a quiet area. We figured that was due to people were probably afraid to walk up that dark, narrow alley it was located in. However the room was clean and the employees were curteous, but for the price, I would not want to stay there again.
