I have stayed here on two occasions and would do so again I have used it as a stop over after a flight from UK. The Hotel offer a Airport transfer service which I have used on both occasions, this really helpful, especially if the flight arives late pm. The staff spoke good English and were helpful and friendly. It is a short walk from the Railway station, and about 15 minutes to the Tower etc.

near the train station, the sorroundings are quite bad, the hotel staff is helpful and kind, satellitar tv is included and free, the overall ambience is a little kitch and dusty, the breakfast is good. Rooms are small and a little dirty (but after asking the staff they provided us a better cleaning service), old looking, the bed is stiff but very large. I would recomend this hotel for very-short stays and for whose looking for a cheap hotel without expecting very high quality.

Have stayed in La Pace many times. The rooms vary in size but generally we have been very happy with the rooms and service. On the odd occasion if there was a problem the hotel staff were always very accommodating in meeting requests.

Best thing was the location - very short walk to the train station. Easy walk to other sights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the actual stay was not nearly as good. Couldn't sleep most of the night because of noise. Outside noise and the "the neighbors" in the room next door. The walls are paper thin! Beds and bedding was poor- hard bumpy mattresses, and large lumpy pillows. Don't take a long shower because it might overflow since the drain was so slow. I could deal with all of this if the price matched the quality but it didn't.

Even though there was a set back of the difficulty of finding the entrance of the hotel, we enjoyed our stay in La Pace. The staff was very helpful and the restaurant he recommended was truly excellent. I wanted to write my comment in Japanese, but it's pity this site rejected my input by Japanese characters. The hotel is good for those who prefer classical furnishing and do not mind some inconvenience due to being classical. As a whole, I'm sure to come back to this hotel if we have another chance to stay in Pisa!

Rooms are gloomily furnished with drab colours. Staff at front desk were officious. Breakfast was disappointing: lack of choice and many buffet items were empty and took a long time to be re-filled.

Lovely staff, an especially good situation for buses and trains as an over night stop. A middle of the night taxi cost us 12euros for a three minutes ride to the aeroporto but that is not unreasonable if the poor man is working nights.

The staff at this hotel are superb. They were courteous, helpful, informative and nothing seemed too much trouble. They even gave us a transfer to the airport and waived the charge. The hotel is in a great location, only 50m from the station, so it's ideal for an overnight stay. It has to be said that it's not the most modern of hotels and it's probably a bit tired looking in places but the room was spotless, well equipped and a reasonably roomy. We'd definitely stay there again.

Very convenient for Pisa station and easily accessible from Pisa airport by frequent and inexpensive town buses. Price/quality well matched. The lift is rather noisy and soundproofing is not perfect, so choose a room away from the lift.

The hotel was near the train station so the area was not very nice, but the hotel was like an oasis and very convenient. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. You did not feel like a visitor. Our children joined us a day later and they took us to the airport to greet them. We were only here a short time besides sleeping, but customer service was great. The bathtub wouldn't fill. There wasn't much room to move around once we put the baby cot up, but not really a problem. Breakfast was good, had breads, cheese, some meat for sandwhichs, cereals, fruit juice, ect. Location was about a 20 min walk to the leaning tower, very easily found.

The hotel was probably very grand at one time. Now it's fine, not posh, just OK. We stayed for one night as a resting place from a drive through Tuscany - for this duration the accommodations were alright. The neighborhood is very questionable and according to the clerk is seldom patrolled by the police. Very conventient to the central rail station. The restaurant recommended by Lorella was terrific. Ask her about it - it's very close to the hotel but the name escapes me.

We found the La Pace Hotel to be a most enjoyable place to stay in Pisa. The staff was not only professional but quite friendly as well. The hotel's location a few minutes from the train station is convenient both to the Congress Centre and the older parts of the city. Breakfast was more than adequate with a wide variety of choice. We were so taken with the hotel that we recommended it to two couples that we met in Toscana who were looking for a hotel in Pisa for their last few days in Italy. When we return to Pisa again, we do plan to make the La Pace our base in the city.

I had gone to Pisa to attend a technical conference and stayed for two nights in a single room at Hotel La Pace. The location is really close to the train station. This is a big plus. At the same time, there was no disturbance at all. The reception was manned by courteous staff who spoke good English. They readliy agreed to keep my luggage in the cloakroom as I had arrived quite early. There was absolutely no problem in communicating. I liked the breakfast. It was sufficient with reasonable number of choices. When compared to the price I paid, I would say the room could have been a little bigger. it was indeed too small. Also, though the AC worked without a hitch, the control panel was broken and one had to do the guessing while trying to set the level of cooling.

We arrived at La Pace late one evening because we had missed our train. Arrival time was about 10 pm. Its very close to the train station, in fact you have to be silly to get lost. The only thing is there was construction around de hotel so we almost missed it. There were two guys smoking outside that day , we went in and the one guy turned to be the receptionist. He checked us in and showed us to the rooms. Rooms are decorated with oldish furniture , we couldn't watch t.v because there was no remote. Bathroom was a decent size and had ample room. The rooms are decent and they have an internet cafe in the hotel for 2 euro an hour. We stayed in Pisa for only one night so we didn't mind. They kept our luggage for us after check out. Breakfast was GREAT , perhaps the most decent we had in Europe. This hotel would be great if they just changed the decor a bit.

We stayed in Pisa one night only, we arrived the night of the Luminare, which was lovely to see, the buildings along the river Arno were all decorated with candles and there was a beautiful firework display which commenced at 11.00pm. Unfortunately the only positive thing I could say about the La Pace is that it is close to the train station, handy if you are travelling around. The staff are efficient enough and there was no problem with check in or check out. I would advise anyone going to stay in Pisa for a visit longer than one night to pick another hotel. The La Pace was way overpriced for what it is, as has been said before, the rooms are very dated and the whole hotel is very dull and in need of upgrade, it is situated in an arcade which at the time of our visit was having work done and there was scaffolding up and parts of the arcade boarded off it is not in the nicest area of Pisa. The breakfast was very basic and the coffee undrinkable.

Staff helpful, and eating recommendations were good. Immediate surroundings seedy but safe. Small dark room. Uncomfortable beds. Shower stall, which had to be accessed by climbing over the bidet, was extremely small. Breakfast moderate-to-poor even by the ususal continental standards of laying out bits of cheese, meat, and baked goods.

The hotel is near the airport and train station. We took a five minute bus ride from the airport to the train station and then walked to the hotel. Despite having a confirmed booking, when we arrived we were told that we had been moved to the Jolly hotel 100m away which was a 4 star hotel, and offered a free drink. The reason was that a large party who were staying the night before, requested an extra day. They also booked us into a twin room, despite the fact that we had booked a double room at La Pace. So we were not very impressed with the way we were treated, although the Jolly hotel was okay.

Being a stones throw from the train station and 10 minutes from Pisa airport, visiting Florence and Lucca couldn't have been easier and the hotel shuttle service was ideal when returning home. Staff were extremely helpfull with a warm welcome to italy from the driver who met me at the airport to the receptionist who checked us into the hotel. The location is fantastic. 5 minutes from the airport by shuttle provided by the hotel or taxi or bus, and two minutes walking to the train station or the bus station and 10 minutes from the doumo, leaning tower and museums etc. Decor a little bit dated but very italian. Only downside was that the room was beside the lift which was noisey everytime somebody used it which was from early moorning. Breakfast was plentiful and had good variety of food. It has location, location and location going for it. I'd certainly go back.

Hotel La Pace was located in a very dodgy area of Pisa. The hotel rooms had not been been decorated in years and the bathroom was awful as it had mould around the bath and everytime next door flushed thier toilet the whole hotel's pipework came alive for ages. The floors are granite and very noisy. The breakfast is all processed foods and not fresh. Not at all worth the money and certainly not worth the star rating.

We chose La Pace for it's proximity to the station as we had early flight next morning. Arrived La Pace to find prob with plumbing and we were going to have to go to another hotel.... No one tried to contact us by mobile to forewarn us of this. When we asked if we could have a taxi to take us and our heavy bags to the other hotel the hotel were disinterested and said it was 3 mins walk!!! you could not even sprint it in 3 mins - so with heavy bags 20 mins walk. Hotel we were booked into had problem with shower and lights in room did not work. We were now no longer convenient for train station so had to book taxi instead..... THis is a real shame as we stop over in Pisa often and usually stay at Rosetto... which is fine... we jus fancied treating ourselves to a more up market hotel.... well in future we will stick to Roseto and I recommend you do the same it is cheaper and the service is perfectly fine!!!

Fine for overnight stay Tower and main shopping street within walking distance. Great for station. Hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment carpets stained, handles missing from drawers, room quite shabby looking. It is located in less than 50 m from the railway station of pisa, but it was not easy to find the hotel. Perhaps a good direction from the station would be useful. The room was OK, but there are cracks and stains. For examples, the tiles on the floor of the washroom have several cracks, and the doors to the room and washroom have stains and the painting of the wall was partly peeled. The breakfast room is rather small with low ceiling, no windows and fans. The room was hot with the toaster. Wireless was supposed to be present, but the signals were patchy and no connection in the room.

An efficient and welcoming hotel just across the road from the central railway station. My goal in Pisa was to see the Leaning Tower and then go immediately to Florence by train. Thankfully, the hotel was so close to the Pisa train station that I actually walked past it. Yes, it is that close. I was pleased that the hotel had a lift, as I was traveling with numerous pieces of luggage and was assigned a room on the 4th floor. The room, however, was located right next to the lift which could be heard in my room. In addition, the air conditioning unit in my room was blowing cool-ish air, but my room never cooled-down (the hallway was cooler!) I was surprised and disappointed by the small stall shower. I've used stall showers on numerous occasions and this one was extra small. In order to rinse all of the soap off of my body, I had to open the doors. All in all, I am glad I had just one night at La Pace.

Close to Public Transport systems. Approach to hotel entrance is very run down as it is part of a communial block and is accessed via a covered alleyway BUT the hotel entrance and foyer are clean. The rest of the hotel was also clean and welcoming. The reception staff were excellent throughout. Our room was functional and had some character, overlooking an enclosed communial flats area. A good base for your visit to Pisa if you have arrived by public transport. The leaning tower is a 30min stroll through the town but Pisa has little to offer beyond the 'leaning tower area.'

Whilst the hotel may appear to be a bit dated with old furniture and fixtures La Pace restored my faith in good old fashioned service. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a massive choice of items. The hotel was ideally situated near the station and only a short walk to the Tower. However Pisa is only worth a day or two andI suggest you head for Florence. There are plenty of trains at a cost of just over 5 euros each way.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Shower was tiny and could have been cleaner. Room was clean though. Glad we were just staying the 1 night. Suitable location near station and airport.

This is a lovely little place with an amazing location (just around the corner from the Duomo). There are quite a few stairs to get up to the hotel, but I found that common in Italy. It is a very quiet place, with a nice breakfast spread every morning. I stayed in a small, single room with the bathrooms down the halls, but that was no problem. The price was great. I imagine the "upstairs" rooms are quite a bit bigger. I had a great three night stay here.

Perfect for Pisa. Problem during the breakfast, if you don't go at first time you'll not find all the things they have, but it was one of the best I've found in Italy.

Very good location if arriving or departing by train although the location of the entrance down an arcade is a bit off putting. Room nothing special but very clean with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom and overall excellent value for money. All the staff we met were very helpful and efficient. The American Bar was very popular, possibly due to the torrential rain in the evening, but our drinks came with complementary snacks which were very nice. The breakfast was by far the best we had in Italy. It is about a 25/30 minute walk to the Leaning Tower via the main shopping area. We would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting somewhere inexpensive for a day or so in Pisa.

Hotel was good value for money. Room was clean, but decor and lighting were a bit gloomy.Staff were very helpful and hotel bar was pleasant, with excellent bar staff and reasonable prices. Hotel entrance is not in a good position, in an arcade with a few odd people hanging around at night.

Bartender/waiter in small bar/restaurant area went overboard to be helpful on our first night in Italy. He made us feel extremely welcome.

We stayed only one night. Hotel is near station and because of that there was a lot of people around hotel drinking, selling diferent things but thay didn't disturb us. We had only a breakfast in hotel and it was usual.

I think the hotel is a little dated especially the bedrooms. However they were clean and comfortable and that is what counts. Although a full restaurant menu is not offered, food is available in the American Bar within the hotel.A fine spread of meats, cheeses, breads and side dishes. Best of all it was the cheapest we had eaten and pretty much the best! The hotel is very close to the train station (50m or so) and therefore some of the people hanging around were a little intimidating.Great place to stop over for Pisa airport, €3 each to use the hotel transfer which was great. The food, extremely friendly staff, and location were worth the slightly off putting area La Pace is in. I would use it again if staying over for the airport.

Clean hotel with good breakfast and bar facilities. Great position for travelling by rail and only 10 minutes walk from main town area. No outlook from rooms but this also means they are quiet. Would return.

Nice hotel with a wonderful staff. I probably would have rated it a ten if I didn't have a problem with the hot water. They served the best breakfast I had in my 10 day trip down to Amalfi.

The hotel overal is ok, however as the price is quite expensive, I think the quality of the room and the service should be better.

We used La Pace as short-stay location only. Hotel has a shuttle service from the airport which was great if you are flying in late at night. It is located near the railway station but a 15/20 minute walk to the main tourist area's of interest, across on the other side of the river. It is slightly of the main road so rooms are not subject to noice. It has a slight dated feel but is clean. Breakfast area and fare was good.

We stayed only one night but wish we had planned more. Our room was more like a suite with a large verandah. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal location for train travellers.

The hotel is placed in an ideal location for anyone who needs to be close to the airport or railway station. The staff are very welcoming and competent. A good selection of cereals, ham, cheese, bread rolls, yogurts and pastries are served for breakfast in a spacious area. A small number of good restaurants are close by. The room we stayed in was clean but quite small and we could hear people moving around in other parts of the hotel. It is about a 20/30 minute walk to the tower from the hotel which was not a problem for us as we enjoy walking and the route is through the main shopping area. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay in Pisa.

Excellent position close to the station, and easy to find. Lovely room, breakfast was fantastic, and transfer to airport excellent. Only slight problem was noise in the room coming from upstairs, and due to chairs scraping on a hard floor. Overall excellent value for money.
