We were only here a short time besides sleeping, but customer service was great. The bathtub wouldn't fill. There wasn't much room to move around once we put the baby cot up, but not really a problem. Breakfast was good, had breads, cheese, some meat for sandwhichs, cereals, fruit juice, ect. Location was about a 20 min walk to the leaning tower, very easily found.

The hotel was probably very grand at one time. Now it's fine, not posh, just OK. We stayed for one night as a resting place from a drive through Tuscany - for this duration the accommodations were alright. The neighborhood is very questionable and according to the clerk is seldom patrolled by the police. Very conventient to the central rail station. The restaurant recommended by Lorella was terrific. Ask her about it - it's very close to the hotel but the name escapes me.

We found the La Pace Hotel to be a most enjoyable place to stay in Pisa. The staff was not only professional but quite friendly as well. The hotel's location a few minutes from the train station is convenient both to the Congress Centre and the older parts of the city. Breakfast was more than adequate with a wide variety of choice. We were so taken with the hotel that we recommended it to two couples that we met in Toscana who were looking for a hotel in Pisa for their last few days in Italy. When we return to Pisa again, we do plan to make the La Pace our base in the city.

Convenient location close to the train station. Our room was quite old, but ok. Breakfast was good. We found this hotel a little expensive, especially if you compare to hotels in Florence.

Good location near the train station in the small town of Pisa. Hotel is dated and a little pricey for the ammenities. A good place for our quick stop in Pisa though.

I had gone to Pisa to attend a technical conference and stayed for two nights in a single room at Hotel La Pace. The location is really close to the train station. This is a big plus. At the same time, there was no disturbance at all. The reception was manned by courteous staff who spoke good English. They readliy agreed to keep my luggage in the cloakroom as I had arrived quite early. There was absolutely no problem in communicating. I liked the breakfast. It was sufficient with reasonable number of choices. When compared to the price I paid, I would say the room could have been a little bigger. it was indeed too small. Also, though the AC worked without a hitch, the control panel was broken and one had to do the guessing while trying to set the level of cooling.

We arrived at La Pace late one evening because we had missed our train. Arrival time was about 10 pm. Its very close to the train station, in fact you have to be silly to get lost. The only thing is there was construction around de hotel so we almost missed it. There were two guys smoking outside that day , we went in and the one guy turned to be the receptionist. He checked us in and showed us to the rooms. Rooms are decorated with oldish furniture , we couldn't watch t.v because there was no remote. Bathroom was a decent size and had ample room. The rooms are decent and they have an internet cafe in the hotel for 2 euro an hour. We stayed in Pisa for only one night so we didn't mind. They kept our luggage for us after check out. Breakfast was GREAT , perhaps the most decent we had in Europe. This hotel would be great if they just changed the decor a bit.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good with a variety of hot and cold choices. Location is very close to train station but within walking distance to most anything in Pisa. Being near the station would make this hotel a nice base for exploring the region. Would stay here again when travelling through the region.

We stayed in Pisa one night only, we arrived the night of the Luminare, which was lovely to see, the buildings along the river Arno were all decorated with candles and there was a beautiful firework display which commenced at 11.00pm. Unfortunately the only positive thing I could say about the La Pace is that it is close to the train station, handy if you are travelling around. The staff are efficient enough and there was no problem with check in or check out. I would advise anyone going to stay in Pisa for a visit longer than one night to pick another hotel. The La Pace was way overpriced for what it is, as has been said before, the rooms are very dated and the whole hotel is very dull and in need of upgrade, it is situated in an arcade which at the time of our visit was having work done and there was scaffolding up and parts of the arcade boarded off it is not in the nicest area of Pisa. The breakfast was very basic and the coffee undrinkable.

Staff helpful, and eating recommendations were good. Immediate surroundings seedy but safe. Small dark room. Uncomfortable beds. Shower stall, which had to be accessed by climbing over the bidet, was extremely small. Breakfast moderate-to-poor even by the ususal continental standards of laying out bits of cheese, meat, and baked goods.

The location of the hotel to the train station was great! Gavino, the hotel front desk clerk was truly a gem! He made us feel very welcome and was very personable. The hotel is near the airport and train station. We took a five minute bus ride from the airport to the train station and then walked to the hotel. The building is a bit old and the room decor is outdated. Breakfast is adequate, however cold. The leaning tower can be reached by foot in 15 minutes or less. Ideal for an overnight stay, enough to see the tower and off to Florence.

The hotel looks a bit dodgy from the outside in a shabby arcade but its nice enough inside. Its basic but clean and good value for money. There is a very wide choice for a continental breakfast but its all processed, nothing was fresh except for the coffee. The receptionists were excellent, helpfull and welcoming and let us use the internet for free! For the price, location and kindness of staff I would stay here again.

Despite having a confirmed booking, when we arrived we were told that we had been moved to the Jolly hotel 100m away which was a 4 star hotel, and offered a free drink. The reason was that a large party who were staying the night before, requested an extra day. They also booked us into a twin room, despite the fact that we had booked a double room at La Pace. So we were not very impressed with the way we were treated, although the Jolly hotel was okay.

This was our first visit to Pisa and chose this hotel for its location. Being a stones throw from the train station and 10 minutes from Pisa airport, visiting Florence and Lucca couldn't have been easier and the hotel shuttle service was ideal when returning home. The staff at La Pace were excellent and although the hotel decor is a bit dated all rooms and public areas are spotless. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Staff were extremely helpfull with a warm welcome to italy from the driver who met me at the airport to the receptionist who checked us into the hotel. The location is fantastic. 5 minutes from the airport by shuttle provided by the hotel or taxi or bus, and two minutes walking to the train station or the bus station and 10 minutes from the doumo, leaning tower and museums etc. Decor a little bit dated but very italian. Only downside was that the room was beside the lift which was noisey everytime somebody used it which was from early moorning. Breakfast was plentiful and had good variety of food. It has location, location and location going for it. I'd certainly go back.

Hotel La Pace was located in a very dodgy area of Pisa. The hotel rooms had not been been decorated in years and the bathroom was awful as it had mould around the bath and everytime next door flushed thier toilet the whole hotel's pipework came alive for ages. The floors are granite and very noisy. The breakfast is all processed foods and not fresh. Not at all worth the money and certainly not worth the star rating.

We chose La Pace for it's proximity to the station as we had early flight next morning. Arrived La Pace to find prob with plumbing and we were going to have to go to another hotel.... No one tried to contact us by mobile to forewarn us of this. When we asked if we could have a taxi to take us and our heavy bags to the other hotel the hotel were disinterested and said it was 3 mins walk!!! you could not even sprint it in 3 mins - so with heavy bags 20 mins walk. Hotel we were booked into had problem with shower and lights in room did not work. We were now no longer convenient for train station so had to book taxi instead..... THis is a real shame as we stop over in Pisa often and usually stay at Rosetto... which is fine... we jus fancied treating ourselves to a more up market hotel.... well in future we will stick to Roseto and I recommend you do the same it is cheaper and the service is perfectly fine!!!

This was a really nice touch and much appreciated. The next day a lady offered to look after our cases though we weer checking out. It gave us a chance to see the tower and some sights before going on to our next destination. Brilliant staff and service. Would definitley stay here again.

Fine for overnight stay Tower and main shopping street within walking distance. Great for station. Hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment carpets stained, handles missing from drawers, room quite shabby looking. It is located in less than 50 m from the railway station of pisa, but it was not easy to find the hotel. Perhaps a good direction from the station would be useful. The room was OK, but there are cracks and stains. For examples, the tiles on the floor of the washroom have several cracks, and the doors to the room and washroom have stains and the painting of the wall was partly peeled. The breakfast room is rather small with low ceiling, no windows and fans. The room was hot with the toaster. Wireless was supposed to be present, but the signals were patchy and no connection in the room.

I was on business and this was very convenient for trains and the airport. Other reviewers have said that the area is a bit seedy but I found it a bit scruffy but OK. My room was one of the less atractive rooms but then it was discounted. The bathroom was great and the breakfast generous. All the staff I met were pleasant efficient and helpful

An efficient and welcoming hotel just across the road from the central railway station. No inspiring views, given its location, but the furnishing of the rooms shows imagination, the public areas are interestingly laid out, and the staff are very helpful. Basically a hotel for those who want to spend most of the day around and about sightseeing, but excellent value for money.

My goal in Pisa was to see the Leaning Tower and then go immediately to Florence by train. Thankfully, the hotel was so close to the Pisa train station that I actually walked past it. Yes, it is that close. I was pleased that the hotel had a lift, as I was traveling with numerous pieces of luggage and was assigned a room on the 4th floor. The room, however, was located right next to the lift which could be heard in my room. In addition, the air conditioning unit in my room was blowing cool-ish air, but my room never cooled-down (the hallway was cooler!) I was surprised and disappointed by the small stall shower. I've used stall showers on numerous occasions and this one was extra small. In order to rinse all of the soap off of my body, I had to open the doors. All in all, I am glad I had just one night at La Pace.

Wasn't in Pisa very long, and the signs on the streets for finding the hotel are a little confusing. If only we'd printed a map as we walked 1/2 an hour when the hotel was only about 2 mins from where we started. Anyway, the hotel was very good for the price, very central and staff very helpfull. Close to Public Transport systems. Approach to hotel entrance is very run down as it is part of a communial block and is accessed via a covered alleyway BUT the hotel entrance and foyer are clean. The rest of the hotel was also clean and welcoming. The reception staff were excellent throughout. Our room was functional and had some character, overlooking an enclosed communial flats area. A good base for your visit to Pisa if you have arrived by public transport. The leaning tower is a 30min stroll through the town but Pisa has little to offer beyond the 'leaning tower area.'

Whilst the hotel may appear to be a bit dated with old furniture and fixtures La Pace restored my faith in good old fashioned service. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good with a massive choice of items. The hotel was ideally situated near the station and only a short walk to the Tower. This is a lovely little place with an amazing location (just around the corner from the Duomo). There are quite a few stairs to get up to the hotel, but I found that common in Italy. It is a very quiet place, with a nice breakfast spread every morning. I stayed in a small, single room with the bathrooms down the halls, but that was no problem. The price was great. I imagine the "upstairs" rooms are quite a bit bigger. I had a great three night stay here.

Very good location if arriving or departing by train although the location of the entrance down an arcade is a bit off putting. Room nothing special but very clean with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom and overall excellent value for money. All the staff we met were very helpful and efficient. The American Bar was very popular, possibly due to the torrential rain in the evening, but our drinks came with complementary snacks which were very nice. The breakfast was by far the best we had in Italy. It is about a 25/30 minute walk to the Leaning Tower via the main shopping area. We would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting somewhere inexpensive for a day or so in Pisa.

I think the hotel is a little dated especially the bedrooms. However they were clean and comfortable and that is what counts. Although a full restaurant menu is not offered, food is available in the American Bar within the hotel.A fine spread of meats, cheeses, breads and side dishes. Best of all it was the cheapest we had eaten and pretty much the best! The hotel is very close to the train station (50m or so) and therefore some of the people hanging around were a little intimidating.Great place to stop over for Pisa airport, €3 each to use the hotel transfer which was great. The food, extremely friendly staff, and location were worth the slightly off putting area La Pace is in. I would use it again if staying over for the airport.

We used La Pace as short-stay location only. Hotel has a shuttle service from the airport which was great if you are flying in late at night. It is located near the railway station but a 15/20 minute walk to the main tourist area's of interest, across on the other side of the river. It is slightly of the main road so rooms are not subject to noice. It has a slight dated feel but is clean. Breakfast area and fare was good.

The hotel is placed in an ideal location for anyone who needs to be close to the airport or railway station. The staff are very welcoming and competent. A good selection of cereals, ham, cheese, bread rolls, yogurts and pastries are served for breakfast in a spacious area. A small number of good restaurants are close by. The room we stayed in was clean but quite small and we could hear people moving around in other parts of the hotel. It is about a 20/30 minute walk to the tower from the hotel which was not a problem for us as we enjoy walking and the route is through the main shopping area. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay in Pisa.

A brief summary for our English speaking friends : nice hotel, very well situated if you arrive by train, or even by plane since the station is five minutes from the airport by bus or train. The leaning tower is a bit far, around 20 minutes on foot, but the walk is quite nice to visit Pisa which is a small town. The rooms are nice, clean, quite big, bathroom is all right, and breakfast is excellent and varied, provided you don't go for breakfast too late since you'll have what's left, and that's not much!

This was a perfect place for my 8-person group to spend the last night of our 2-1/2 week stay in Italy. Convenient, easy to find location -- literally right across the street from the Pisa Centrale train station, with many convenient restaurants and shopping within a block or two. The main attraction (Leaning Tower, etc.) a leisurely 20-minute walk away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The common areas beautiful. Good breakfast buffet, and free hors douerves during cocktail hour, at least the night we were there. Rooms are tiny and could be a little cleaner (some dust bunnies in the corners), but acceptable overall, especially for one night. Surrounding area could be a bit dicey at night -- wouldn't want to wander around alone after dark. But, overall, the many positives outweigh the few negatives, and especially if you're coming in by train, I would recommend this place for one or two nights, which is all you really need to spend in Pisa anyway.

My sister and I stayed here in a room with twin beds for one night, prior to flying back to the U.S. Location is very close to Pisa Centrale train station--two blocks or so. The room was clean but had minimal furnishings--which were just adequate, not great, and had a slightly unpleasant (disinfectant?) smell. However, the breakfast room is large and very pleasant, and the breakfast service was lovely and included hard-boiled eggs and ham and cheese, along with the regular offerings. -- The reception desk was friendly and helpful. They also have a shuttle service to the Pisa airport--free, as I recall, though we tipped the driver.

My friend and I were only in Pisa for a weekend and this was the first time we had stayed in the Hotel La Pace and we were more than satisfied with our choice. The hotel sent a mini bus to pick us up at the airport which was only ten minutes away. I was a little apprehensive as I had read the reviews which mentioned that access was through a seedy alleyway but I didn't find it a problem and it didn't feel at all seedy and we were in and out at all times. The hotel was clean and typically Italian. The staff were very helpful and friendly and our evenings always ended up in the bar which was manned by the same friendly staff and there was always a lovely array of nibbles to go with our drinks. Breakfast was great with loads of different choices. Proximity of the hotel was ideal close to the station and all amenities. The Leaning Tower was an interesting 15 - 10 minute walk away - longer if you decided to stop off at once of the many tempting cafes along the way. If I ever go to Pisa again I would definitely stay at this hotel.

a very poor entrance coming from the station to my opinion you canot offer this hotel as a three stars. room very small and the bathroom scored a world record in space. I could not turn in the shower, it was so small. I could not pick up the fallen peace of soap. on the other hand the breakfast was very could and the waiters very friendly.

Room could of been cleaner, but apart from that a really good hotel. excellent choice at breakfast, really friendly staff. Bar was pleasant and we chose to eat in the hotel as we were tired from travelling. Bar offered excellent choice of finger foods which were free of charge such as sundried tomatoes, olives, artichokes bread etc, which went down very well with a local wine! would stay here again.

This is an excellent hotel, within walking distance of the rail station, within an easy 20 minute walk to the Leaning Tower, and ten minutes by car to the airport. Small bars and restaurants nearby.

Single room. Similar comments to others, nothing fancy but delivers on what you pay for. Helpful, friendly and very responsive staff. Facilities to leave laptops and bigger objects in large safe. Extremely convenient to train station, 2 mins away. 10mins walk from old and lively center of town. Buffet breakfast included with pastries, cheese, meats, cereals, etc. Overall very good value.

This hotel was as expected was ok for late night arrival and one day stay. Asked for pick up at airport and was not dissapointed 3 euro each cost added to bill next day. Hotel location/surroundings weren't great but made up for by the fact that as viewed on Venere it was very convenient for train station, however was made up for by the friendliness of staff.Next day, young lady on reception helped us with train timetable, she spoke very good English.
