This was a great hotel for the price. The room size was good, the location is about a 10 minute walk to the tower & other sites. Breakfast was very good. Great dinner recommendations. Had a free hour of internet each day (wireless too). Overall, a great value for the money - and I will be taking my family to this hotel again next year on vacation.

The room was very beautiful (large, beautiful volume, design and decor) and the staff is professional. All PISE monuments and sites may be reached by walking few minutes.

A very nice hotel, south of the Arno but very close and within easy strolling distance of the Leaning Tower. The room wasn't all that big but the bathroom was huge and had everything. The breakfast was absolutely first class....couldn't be faulted. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The single room which I got was strikingly small but clean and tidy. The bathroom was equipped very well and was clean and comfortable. The only thing which annoyed me was that I expected a snack bar in the hotel which was not true and I referred to them at night to get something but they just sent me to a restaurant nearby which did not have a free table and had to go far away to get something!

We stayed in single rooms - they are small but more than adequate considering you'll be spending your day at the Tower and/or shopping and/or visiting other towns in the vicinity. They were clean, bright, fresh. I had no complaints whatever.

Great for overnight stay in Pisa. Wouldn't fancy it for more than one night. Disappointed with room position, very small dark not much natural light. Although bathroom large bright and airy but overlooked another room at the hotel. Staff were helpful with tourism advice and their airport shuttle was a good service.

The hotel staff and breakfast were great. The hotel was clean and in a safe area. The location is an easy walk from the central station if you are not walking with large bags or in July heat. A bus line runs in front of the hotel if needed but a cab would be no more than a 1 minute ride. A nice lounge is located across the street and most of the night life which is across the river. The Pisa Tower is very walkable from this location.

Don't be put off by the walk from the Station. The back road is not pretty, although has only light traffic. The hotel is in a very convenient position however, and close to shopping, eating and the bridges across the river to access the tower etc. The hotel must be the best value for money stay we have experienced in Italy. The quad room was perfect for 2 + 2 teens, and the room was immaculate and well equipped. The bathroom is on the small side but felt brand new. The hotel closes every January for refurbishment, and they really do take a lot of pride in presentation. There is a very nice and secluded elevated patio area for drinks and snacks etc. Very welcome after a long day on your feet. After paying Florence prices, everything seems so reasonable! Great value, and really A1 staff.

Great property with an excellent staff who were friendly and helpful. I expected the property to be closer to the Leaning Tower (it's about a 20 min walk across the River) but it was a 2 minute walk to other sites (shopping and resteraunts) Take a taxi to the hotel from the airport; it's only 10 minutes - we were 4 (family) and the fare was 10 euros - the hotel wanted 20 euros (5 euro per person)

We did not enjoy our stay at this hotel. The walls were very thin and you could hear the noises from adjoining rooms as well as the ones above. Consequently we had to endure a sleepless night. The bathroom was tiny with a folding door that was hard to use. The hotel is near the main streets but the location does not inspire confidence. In summary I would not recommend this hotel.

The air conditioning didn't seem to be operating properly and the room was very hot. There was a lot of noise, but it was hard to establish where this was coming from. At times it seemed to be from upstairs and later in the night, from outside (I think the kitchen was close to the room). Overall, the room was very clean and the hotel staff were very friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bologna. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious. The location of the hotel was good however, it is not as short a walk from the hotel as the website made out. It is a good ten to fifteen minutes walk to the hotel from the train station. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone as it has a good location whilst being in a quiet street. The staff were exceptional and the breakfast was good to.

We were in a room at the rear & there was constant noise from a bakery which abutted the property & went on all night. As well as the noise it made the room very hot.The management pleaded ignorance which was ridiculous. Parking was very tight & difficult to get the car out in the morning.

nice hotel, central, difficult to find due to road works when we arrived.my only complaint is the car parking!you have to leave your car key at the reception when we came back to the car to leave, it was parked so close to some steel stairs i could not get in it.The ultra slim receptionist commented on the way the car had been left and appologised. My concern is insurance and did i sign a disclaimer when checking in.

Stayed 2 nights at the Bologna. Good location for visiting Leaning Tower/restaurants and bars/train station for day trip to Florence. (Well worth a visit.) Airport can easily be reached by local bus - cheap and frequent. Shops and restaurants close to the hotel. Found some of the restaurants near to the Tower added a 15% service charge to the bill regardless of whether or not worth it. Found much better restaurants in the winding streets slightly away from main tourist area.

Fabulous, 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and the general location incredible for those wanting to explore not only Pisa but the surrounding areas' i.e. Florence, Lucca etc. Dominic and John who look after the hotel in the evenings really are fab. No evenings meals but can cater for substantial snacks in their small tuscan kitchen. I have taken my mother and mother-in-law together to explore this unique area on the basis I have a beautiful hotel offering triple and quadruple rooms. The quadruple room was like having seperate bedrooms - fantastic. Breakfast wonderful - everything you need and self service so you can keep going back for seconds! I even got slippers complimentary, a must for the long hours sight seeing. Hotel has fantastic location just a slight stroll over the bridge into cosmopolitan Pisa. Elderly becareful pavements are unruly - historic charm. My Mum is 70 and coped as she is able bodied.

I stayed one night at Hotel Bologna for a business trip. The hotel looks great, and is wonderfully located right in the city center of Pisa. I was however very much disappointed with the room I got: the room was in the building at the back of the hotel, and was TINY! There was barely any space between the small 1-person bed, the tiny desk, and the bathroom. There was a small window but it was too high to be able to see much through it. My room looked more like one from a 2-star hotel than a 4-star hotel. The room was also very noisy, it is apparently located near an all-night kitchen or something like that. I might go back to hotel Bologna, but in that case I would insist to get a room in the main building.

OK, so I have never stayed in a 4 star hotel before but as this one seemed to have a good offeron I decided to book. Was very pleased with the room and the general service, only minor point was that no-one was on the front desk when we arrived. Good quality/price ratio (with the rate rebated in venere; I got there through www.hotelbestbooking.com, an excellent site by the way). Excellent hotel for our one night stay, close to all the sights and the main shopping street, friendly staff, clean and modern decor, excellent breakfast, lovely room and beautiful bathroom, only negative comment was that our room overlooked a ventilation shaft so with no outlook was a bit claustrophobic but for a short stay was OK Hotel shuttle to the airport cost 12 euros for 2 people, journey only took 5 minutes but was worth the cost to be hassle free We had walked to the hotel from the railway station and that took 10 minutes, was easy to get to

Good hotel. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and quiet. It is 1Km from the train station (if you arrive during the day, it is perfectly possible to reach it on foot). It is also near Pisa mains attractions (if you are not lazy, you can walk to the Pending Tower and the Catedral on foot also). Breakfast was ok, bathrooms were ok. Moreover, the hotel provided internet (paid) on the lobby. The maps provided in the hotel had a poor quality (in fact, the map was a bad-quality xerox). Be also careful with the map provided in the hotel website. There are a lot of streets missing, what makes a little difficult to find the hotel when your are walking from the station.

Overall our stay was great. On arrival at the airport we rang the hotel and they immediately sent a vehicle to pick us up. On arrival the reception staff were very efficient and were extremely helpful for the whole of our stay. They were also very knowledgable about the area, transport, restaurants etc. The rooms were very nice, spotlessly clean and the hotel was in a convenient location for local sights and transportation. Breakfast was very nice, continental, with cold meat and cheeses, bread, cakes, juices and coffee but a really good selection. Just two minor gripes. I booked one single and one double room for two nights. The single room was fine but the double room smelt of cigarette smoke despite requesting a non smoking room. This was not a great problem, just a bit unpleasant. The smell was only slight and more noticeable when first entering the room. Secondly on the last morning of our stay we were woken up early by a rather noisy neighbour. To be fair to him I think the noise was coming through the locked interconnecting door between the rooms. We could hear him having a shower, moving around the room and talking rather loudly into his mobile phone. In fact it sounded as if he was in the same room with us. Anyway despite this, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A very nice, quality hotel with an excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. I was disappointed with the room in the respect that it was smaller than the one on the website that I'd asked for and it was noisy from the adjacent lift. The web info gave the impression that the courtesy bus was free but it wasn't. It was 12 euros from the train station and 16 euros to the airport. It was a very comfortable service though. Excellent hotel, exactly as described on the website. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean, well decorated and quiet. Although breakfast in Italian hotels is usually a limp affair, the breakfast here was excellent; varied and fresh. The only (very slight) drawback is the location, which is not particularly near the major sights. However, if (like us) you are prepared to sacrifice location in order to get a good value room in a lovely hotel, then this is the place for you. All of which said, the hotel is a very short walk from the train station, and the 20-minute walk into the city is a very pleasant one. We would definitely stay here again.

A lovely hotel to start our family holiday. Close enough to the centre to walk but far enough away for peace and quiet. If flying in to Pisa do not hire a car until you leave the hotel as you will not need one for the stay here. All you will be doing is paying for a car and parking when the airport is only a short ride away, the hotel offers a collect and drop-off service. The 4 bed family room we had was lovely including a seperate area, though no door, for the children to sleep. Breakfast was enjoyable and plenty. The self service on the coffee was good. However there is limited food and drink available at other times so no louging about the hotel. Would stay at this hotel again.

Lovely hotel. I will definitely stay there again and recommend to others. As a single traveller, I get used to paying over the top and having an inferior room. Not this time! I had a beautiful spacious room and bathroom, with lovely furniture. The flat screen TV with some programmes in English was also appreciated. And the breakfast is superb.

The hotel Bologna is a comfortable and clean hotel between the train station and the river Arno. It was close enought to get our cases to after getting off the train and it was within walking distance of the Leaning Tower and the older part of the town. The triple room had one main part and a side area with the second (single) bed in which allowed for some privacy. The hotel is on a quiet street which was mostly private residences. Shops, bars and restaurants were within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet was good but a little overcrowded. I would recommend this hotel to others

This hotel was very nice. The staff were very helpful and gave us an excellent dinner recommendation. The main attractions were easily within walking distance, but we were far enough away not to be affected by the noise. Great common rooms for sitting with comfy furniture. Everything was very well kept.
