The welcoming could have been better from the reception desk and breakfast was not what I was expecting for the price. The room was great and it is in a good locality. There is an outside seating area at the back that should be highlighted more as it was pleasant to sit there. The cleaning staff were very friendly and welcoming. I have used this hotel before and remember a different feel - a better one.

Hotel Bologna is in a fantastic location, a short walk to all the main sights. It is also really close to the train station which makes other areas of Tuscany easily accessible. The rooms are clean and all you need, the hotel itself is also really well looked after. The only thing I'd say that let it down slightly was the breakfast. Pretty disorganised and some staff not as helpful and welcoming as others! Would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone looking to stay in Pisa.

I stayed here, alone, for three nights. I had stayed here once before, several years ago, when it first opened. The location could not be better. You have to walk up a few steps but they are not tedious. This was one of the preeminent Renaissance palazzi in Lucca. The breakfast room is wonderfully comfortable. They cook your eggs to order. The staff was completely competent and friendly. The proprietress, Daniela, was very helpful and accommodating. I will stay here again.

The Hotel was in a good location on a quiet street in Pisa with a variety of restaurants(chinese, indian, italian) and an Irish pub within walking distance. The hotel was half way between the leaning tower of Pisa and the train station. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. There were a variety of toiletries provided. The breakfast was good with kellog's cereals and you could order eggs and omelettes. The hotel provided umbrellas for the bad weather. The hotel has parking round the back but is best utilised by people who do not have a hired car. The rates of the rooms were excellent value and i would come back to this hotel again.

Over priced, as expensive as a much classier hotel that we stayed in, in central Florence. My view is that Pisa is not on a par with Florence but you see the transit traveller to the airport as an easy catch. The lock on the room door was not secure and as the cleaner had not reported the problem our concerns were minimised and the staff member was unable to repair the defect. We were in a ground floor accomodation and our safety was paramount. Nice accomodation but expensive.

The Hotel was very centrally located, the staff very friendly (but one)especially the waiters and waitresses at breakfast.Beutiful Fresca's on the walls by Magretti Maurizio.A warm and "at home" feeling especially coming in at the end of the day and having the possibility to eat something light(if left over from the morning-meaning every morning the food was fresh)at no cost.complaint?wireless kept disconnecting on all technologies, and quite annoying reconnecting every time.Would come back tomorrow if I could!

This was my first visit to Pisa so I would have appreciated a more detailed map to find the hotel. I did ask several people for directions and only the last gentleman was most accurate. Also it would be most kind if free airport shuttle services were provided.

Excellent location, only a 15 minute walk to the Campo di Miracoli and the leaning tower. 10 Minutes to Pisa Centrale railway station. Shuttle service from airport is only free if you book direct with hotel, otherwise 15 Euros. Room was well presented. Breakfast on the terrace at the back of the hotel was excellent.

I stayed here for just one night, before flying back home. Hotel is very near to the railway station and in walking distance from the tower. Staff was very friendly on arrival. I could use the computer and the printer without charge. The room was nice, breakfast was good. I had a great deal with venere, so value for money was excellent. (Minor) downside: the receptionist at check-out was not very friendly and the balance for weighing lugguage didn't work.

The hotel is in a very central location in Pisa and is a very good quality/clean hotel. The staff were very friendly and informative The free extras of transfers to and from the airport/ train station, fresh daily homemade cakes and Taste of Tuscany evenings were greatly appreciated. The selection of food at breakfast was good too and I particularly liked the murals throughout the hotel.

Stayed in a newly refurbished room at the front which was very nice. Hotel on a main side street so you could hear traffic. Breakfast good, nibbles on an evening at 7.00 pm a nice touch. Some fantastic restaurants recommended by staff who were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to leaning tower of pisa etc. Free shuttle to airport/train station excellent. Only downside were the lifts being refurbished so had to use the stairs but this did not affect our holiday.

Our second stay at the Hotel Bologna. We prefer to be that side of the river, it's less touristy and close to the railway station. The Hotel shuttle service was very useful.Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold food. Free mineral water in the mini bar saved us many trips to the supermarket. We were very pleased with our room, but as you would expect with a city hotel, some of the rooms did not have exceptional views. The complimentary shampoos, etc and the coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms were a nice touch. The bed was perfect, the mini bar prices not too exorbitant and the hotel staff were very attentive.

We loved this hotel! We stayed in the quadruple room which had a seperate room connected to ours for the children with twin beds in. The water in the room was free as was the homemade cake and water in the reception area we could let the children have. They loved this!! The quality of the room was high....very clean and english tv too!!! Breakfast was a wide range of foods....staff all spoke english and were very nice. Definately a four star experience. Great location...just a short walk away from everything!! Loved Bologna...loved the hotel....

Stayed one night waiting for flight the next day. All staff very helpful, patient, competent and spoke good english. Location in a small back street was a little awkward to get to by car (best to approach from the road alongside the river). Inside the hotel was very clean, bright and with fittings being of a good quality and well maintained. Its central location is ideal for visiting the city and the free shuttle bus to and from the airport is very useful. Recommended.

The Hotel was lovely but was extremely difficult to find. They cannot provide any GPS co-ordinates and that combined with several sets of roadworks made it extremely difficult to find. it took us over one hour to find it! the only other comment would be that for the price, the bathroom was extremely small - the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel - beautifully clean though which in some way made up for the lack of space. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was quite noisey thoughout the night.

Recommended for your stay in Pisa. Very generous buffet breakfast (including freshly made fruit salad, not so common in many others hotels). Convenient location in walking distance (20 min max) from Tower, useful private parking. I would suggest to ask for a room not facing the road. Hotel is basically in a pedestrian area, but the buses are very frequent in daytime (a nice facility indeed) and could result somehow noisy despite the excellent work of acoustic insulation by hotel management.

As I remember, I stayed at room 104, a double room with a window facing the yard. The room is okay but it will be much better if they add a fan in the bathroom. The window in the bathroom is very small and high, near the ceiling, and was closed tightly. I tried to open it by standing on the chair, but it's too high. So, once you use the toilet, it will be quite smelly in next one hour.

We only stayed for 1 night, but it was a very positive experience for us. The service was efficient, the reception was welcoming and helpful, the room was spacious and spotless, and the decor in the public rooms was fantastic. We had advised of an early arrival (11 a.m.), and our room was available at that time. Our room faced the street, so there was a bit of noise in the night, but nothing to complain about. There was a wide choice of food and drink at breakfast, and the quality was excellent. We paid 139 euros, including breakfast, which to us represented very good value for money. We can recommend the restaurant Il Campano at Via Cavalca.

Hallo!

The hotel staff and breakfast were great. The hotel was clean and in a safe area. The location is an easy walk from the central station if you are not walking with large bags or in July heat. A bus line runs in front of the hotel if needed but a cab would be no more than a 1 minute ride. A nice lounge is located across the street and most of the night life which is across the river. The Pisa Tower is very walkable from this location.

Don't be put off by the walk from the Station. The back road is not pretty, although has only light traffic. The hotel is in a very convenient position however, and close to shopping, eating and the bridges across the river to access the tower etc. The hotel must be the best value for money stay we have experienced in Italy. The quad room was perfect for 2 + 2 teens, and the room was immaculate and well equipped. The bathroom is on the small side but felt brand new. The hotel closes every January for refurbishment, and they really do take a lot of pride in presentation. There is a very nice and secluded elevated patio area for drinks and snacks etc. Very welcome after a long day on your feet. After paying Florence prices, everything seems so reasonable! Great value, and really A1 staff.

We booked a family room for my husband, me and our 2 daughter (17 and 21) and received 2 adjoining double rooms, each with its own bathroom. Excellent value for money and excellent location to see the main attractions in Pisa.

The hotel is redone recently and well-appointed. It is about a 15-20 minute stroll to the Leaning Tower.

I would recommend this hotel as location was very central & the hotel itself it very nice. Bathrooms are slightly small but other than that all was nice.

The staff were pleasant and efficient. We had the room directly behind the lift so had noise from the lift and people using the lift and stairs. Room was very cold, radiators in the bedroom and bathroom were always cold. Heater in air conditioning unit not powerful enough to heat the room effectivly.

Great property with an excellent staff who were friendly and helpful. I expected the property to be closer to the Leaning Tower (it's about a 20 min walk across the River) but it was a 2 minute walk to other sites (shopping and resteraunts) Take a taxi to the hotel from the airport; it's only 10 minutes - we were 4 (family) and the fare was 10 euros - the hotel wanted 20 euros (5 euro per person)

We did not enjoy our stay at this hotel. The walls were very thin and you could hear the noises from adjoining rooms as well as the ones above. Consequently we had to endure a sleepless night. The bathroom was tiny with a folding door that was hard to use. The hotel is near the main streets but the location does not inspire confidence. In summary I would not recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bologna. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious. The location of the hotel was good however, it is not as short a walk from the hotel as the website made out. It is a good ten to fifteen minutes walk to the hotel from the train station. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone as it has a good location whilst being in a quiet street. The staff were exceptional and the breakfast was good to.

The air conditioning didn't seem to be operating properly and the room was very hot. There was a lot of noise, but it was hard to establish where this was coming from. At times it seemed to be from upstairs and later in the night, from outside (I think the kitchen was close to the room). Overall, the room was very clean and the hotel staff were very friendly.

We were in a room at the rear & there was constant noise from a bakery which abutted the property & went on all night. As well as the noise it made the room very hot.The management pleaded ignorance which was ridiculous. Parking was very tight & difficult to get the car out in the morning.

I have been at Pisa for the second time and I chose The Hotel Bologna again. It has a good location (not far from the city centre and from the train station)and you can easily walk to the main interesting points.

nice hotel, central, difficult to find due to road works when we arrived.my only complaint is the car parking!you have to leave your car key at the reception when we came back to the car to leave, it was parked so close to some steel stairs i could not get in it.The ultra slim receptionist commented on the way the car had been left and appologised. My concern is insurance and did i sign a disclaimer when checking in.

Stayed 2 nights at the Bologna. Good location for visiting Leaning Tower/restaurants and bars/train station for day trip to Florence. (Well worth a visit.) Airport can easily be reached by local bus - cheap and frequent. Shops and restaurants close to the hotel. Found some of the restaurants near to the Tower added a 15% service charge to the bill regardless of whether or not worth it. Found much better restaurants in the winding streets slightly away from main tourist area.

A very comfortable, pleasant, convenient hotel with helpful non-intrusive, professional employees. I particularly appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities, not something you find everywhere in Italy.

We were very pleased with accomodations. I reserved a triple and was given a mini suite with separate bedroom & bath for older child who was traveling with us. Breakfast was the best in all travel in Italy.
