Excellent hotel. Our room was furnished to a high standard and very comfortable living up to its 4* rating. Breakfast choice was very good though the seating arrangement in the breakfast room was somewhat cramped.

The hotel is in a very central location in Pisa and is a very good quality/clean hotel. The staff were very friendly and informative The free extras of transfers to and from the airport/ train station, fresh daily homemade cakes and Taste of Tuscany evenings were greatly appreciated. The selection of food at breakfast was good too and I particularly liked the murals throughout the hotel.

Stayed in a newly refurbished room at the front which was very nice. Hotel on a main side street so you could hear traffic. Breakfast good, nibbles on an evening at 7.00 pm a nice touch. Some fantastic restaurants recommended by staff who were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to leaning tower of pisa etc. Free shuttle to airport/train station excellent. Only downside were the lifts being refurbished so had to use the stairs but this did not affect our holiday.

Our second stay at the Hotel Bologna. We prefer to be that side of the river, it's less touristy and close to the railway station. The Hotel shuttle service was very useful.Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold food. Free mineral water in the mini bar saved us many trips to the supermarket. Would stay again if we returned to Pisa.

We were very pleased with our room, but as you would expect with a city hotel, some of the rooms did not have exceptional views. The complimentary shampoos, etc and the coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms were a nice touch. The bed was perfect, the mini bar prices not too exorbitant and the hotel staff were very attentive.

We loved this hotel! We stayed in the quadruple room which had a seperate room connected to ours for the children with twin beds in. The water in the room was free as was the homemade cake and water in the reception area we could let the children have. They loved this!! The quality of the room was high....very clean and english tv too!!! Breakfast was a wide range of foods....staff all spoke english and were very nice. Definately a four star experience. Great location...just a short walk away from everything!! Loved Bologna...loved the hotel....

Stayed one night waiting for flight the next day. All staff very helpful, patient, competent and spoke good english. Location in a small back street was a little awkward to get to by car (best to approach from the road alongside the river). Inside the hotel was very clean, bright and with fittings being of a good quality and well maintained. Its central location is ideal for visiting the city and the free shuttle bus to and from the airport is very useful. Recommended.

The Hotel was lovely but was extremely difficult to find. They cannot provide any GPS co-ordinates and that combined with several sets of roadworks made it extremely difficult to find. it took us over one hour to find it! the only other comment would be that for the price, the bathroom was extremely small - the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel - beautifully clean though which in some way made up for the lack of space. Our room was at the back of the hotel and was quite noisey thoughout the night.

Recommended for your stay in Pisa. Very generous buffet breakfast (including freshly made fruit salad, not so common in many others hotels). Convenient location in walking distance (20 min max) from Tower, useful private parking. I would suggest to ask for a room not facing the road. Hotel is basically in a pedestrian area, but the buses are very frequent in daytime (a nice facility indeed) and could result somehow noisy despite the excellent work of acoustic insulation by hotel management.

Good value, central hotel. Nothing to find fault with: perhaps the bathroom radiator needed painting! It is well-located, with a handful of good reasonably-priced restaurants nearby. Breakfast was excellent. Room was clean at all times and well serviced. Staff were all fine. Free internet was a bonus. Main train and bus station only 10 mins walk.

Brief stay in Pisa made excellent by hotel . Very central - can walk everywhere - local restaurant suggested by hotel superb. Rooms and services all excellent . Only criticism was the take away breakfast - we left very early and were offered a take away but it was not good. Not really important and certainly did not spoil our lovely visit

As I remember, I stayed at room 104, a double room with a window facing the yard. The room is okay but it will be much better if they add a fan in the bathroom. The window in the bathroom is very small and high, near the ceiling, and was closed tightly. I tried to open it by standing on the chair, but it's too high. So, once you use the toilet, it will be quite smelly in next one hour.

We only stayed for 1 night, but it was a very positive experience for us. The service was efficient, the reception was welcoming and helpful, the room was spacious and spotless, and the decor in the public rooms was fantastic. We had advised of an early arrival (11 a.m.), and our room was available at that time. Our room faced the street, so there was a bit of noise in the night, but nothing to complain about. There was a wide choice of food and drink at breakfast, and the quality was excellent. We paid 139 euros, including breakfast, which to us represented very good value for money. We can recommend the restaurant Il Campano at Via Cavalca.

The room was clean, close to the Leaning Towner, the train station, restaurants..etc. Their staff were friendly enough although I did not like the fact that they changed the behavior based on who you are.. (solo v.s. family ..As I was a solo travellor, I did not receive more information than a family travellor who checked in just before me. I had to ask and ask to obtain the same information.. )

Excellent hotel in a very quite location. Most rooms (I believe) face inwards to a central courtyard which further reduces any external noise. Very close location to the main shopping street. A short walk to the station. A pleasant 15 min walk to the leaning tower. All very easy to navigate around. Room was very pleasant, although with a strong cigarette smell. Service was polite and efficient. Excellent and comprehensive breakfast service. Highly recommended.

The single room which I got was strikingly small but clean and tidy. The bathroom was equipped very well and was clean and comfortable. The only thing which annoyed me was that I expected a snack bar in the hotel which was not true and I referred to them at night to get something but they just sent me to a restaurant nearby which did not have a free table and had to go far away to get something!

Hallo!

The hotel staff and breakfast were great. The hotel was clean and in a safe area. The location is an easy walk from the central station if you are not walking with large bags or in July heat. A bus line runs in front of the hotel if needed but a cab would be no more than a 1 minute ride. A nice lounge is located across the street and most of the night life which is across the river. The Pisa Tower is very walkable from this location.

Don't be put off by the walk from the Station. The back road is not pretty, although has only light traffic. The hotel is in a very convenient position however, and close to shopping, eating and the bridges across the river to access the tower etc. The hotel must be the best value for money stay we have experienced in Italy. The quad room was perfect for 2 + 2 teens, and the room was immaculate and well equipped. The bathroom is on the small side but felt brand new. The hotel closes every January for refurbishment, and they really do take a lot of pride in presentation. There is a very nice and secluded elevated patio area for drinks and snacks etc. Very welcome after a long day on your feet. After paying Florence prices, everything seems so reasonable! Great value, and really A1 staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Bologna. On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were spacious. The location of the hotel was good however, it is not as short a walk from the hotel as the website made out. It is a good ten to fifteen minutes walk to the hotel from the train station. The air conditioning didn't seem to be operating properly and the room was very hot. There was a lot of noise, but it was hard to establish where this was coming from. Nice hotel, central, difficult to find due to road works when we arrived.my only complaint is the car parking!you have to leave your car key at the reception when we came back to the car to leave, it was parked so close to some steel stairs i could not get in it.The ultra slim receptionist commented on the way the car had been left and appologised. My concern is insurance and did i sign a disclaimer when checking in.

Stayed 2 nights at the Bologna. Good location for visiting Leaning Tower/restaurants and bars/train station for day trip to Florence. (Well worth a visit.) Airport can easily be reached by local bus - cheap and frequent. Shops and restaurants close to the hotel. Found some of the restaurants near to the Tower added a 15% service charge to the bill regardless of whether or not worth it. Found much better restaurants in the winding streets slightly away from main tourist area.

Fabulous, 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and the general location incredible for those wanting to explore not only Pisa but the surrounding areas' i.e. Florence, Lucca etc. Dominic and John who look after the hotel in the evenings really are fab. No evenings meals but can cater for substantial snacks in their small tuscan kitchen. I have taken my mother and mother-in-law together to explore this unique area on the basis I have a beautiful hotel offering triple and quadruple rooms. The quadruple room was like having seperate bedrooms - fantastic. Breakfast wonderful - everything you need and self service so you can keep going back for seconds! I even got slippers complimentary, a must for the long hours sight seeing. Hotel has fantastic location just a slight stroll over the bridge into cosmopolitan Pisa. Elderly becareful pavements are unruly - historic charm. My Mum is 70 and coped as she is able bodied.

Excellent surprise because we had a familial room, more spacious than a double room. But we did not know the parking is not free : 20€ for 24hours. But really good hostel only at 500meters of the tower. But we don't see the tower from the terrace of the hotel (no like on the pictures!). To be recommended!

This was the best value hotel of our 29 days of travel in Italy and Corsica, including many four and five star accommodations. The desk staff was superb, even to offering a choice of rooms on check-in.

I stayed one night at Hotel Bologna for a business trip. The hotel looks great, and is wonderfully located right in the city center of Pisa. I was however very much disappointed with the room I got: the room was in the building at the back of the hotel, and was TINY! There was barely any space between the small 1-person bed, the tiny desk, and the bathroom. There was a small window but it was too high to be able to see much through it. My room looked more like one from a 2-star hotel than a 4-star hotel. The room was also very noisy, it is apparently located near an all-night kitchen or something like that. I might go back to hotel Bologna, but in that case I would insist to get a room in the main building.

I was very impressed with the Hotel Bologna. The standards of cleanliness of the rooms, the breakfast and the helpfulness of the staff were all excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff very helpful. Location was great, 15 minute walk to Leaning Tower. Bus across street to railway station and airport for just 1 euro. Family room was huge. Breakfast was okay. Good price for family room in expensive country. Negative was noise from room above because of wood floors.

OK, so I have never stayed in a 4 star hotel before but as this one seemed to have a good offeron I decided to book. Was very pleased with the room and the general service, only minor point was that no-one was on the front desk when we arrived. Hotel is a little out of the way down a small street but they do offer pickup from the station for a small fee. But your on holiday, walk and explore the area.
