Sent mail before one week about arriving time, per website check in time 12.00PM (Noon). Went around 12.15PM, there was a lady who does not speak English, she some how in sign language told room is not ready & gave us a Map of the City & told us (in sign language) go around the city come after 2-3 hrs. We came after 5 hrs, a guy was there who applogised for inconvineince & offered free coffee & gave us room key. Overall Room was OK (Small).

We have been really very nicely welcomed by the staff. On the way back we spent another night and we got the same feeling. The ratio quality price is good, except the decoration and the lighting which can be improved Thanks again

We felt really ripped off when we arrived to the hotel and discovered that the use of wifi cost 5 € per hour. The cleaness service was not very good: though they make the beds for example, no one ever swept or picked up the floors in one week. The Hotel was for at least 3 full days without internet, so that we couldn't pay with card, only cash was able. One of the members of the staff, who some times worked at the reception, was really unfriendly and unprofessional.

We finally got a better room with a private bathroom, which was on the corridor. but the bathroom was a little damaged, because the shower door always fell out of the frame and the water changed between hot and cold. but at least it was clean. the room was quite small but enough for sleeping. problem was just the thin walls between the rooms. every evening a man was snoring in the room next to us. this was very enoying for me but my boyfriend didn´t care. we had no breakfast there, because we were always to late and we also don´t wanted to pay 5€ without knowing what to expect. we prefered to eat great italian sandwiches outside the hotel. hotel is close to train station and a bus is close which is going to the airport within 10 minutes. for the price it is a good place to stay.

I won't recommend anyone to stay in this place. The only thing that is okay is the location. I have awful experience and have doubt on the integrity of the staff there. When I checked in, the lady at the front desk asked me to pay the fee(90 euros) in cash. Since I was staying for 1 night only, I thought it's fine to pay first. So I gave her two 50 euro notes and she was supposed to give me 10 euros in change. But then she told me she did not have the key to the cashier and I have to come back later that night when the boss is back to have the change. I thought it's just 10 euros so I said okay and went out. But when I came back later and talked to the boss at the front desk, he has no idea of the whole thing. He asked me to wait until I checked out tomorrow because by that time the lady would be back. And then next morning when I checked out and met the lady again, she lied and said she had given me the change the day before. At first I thought she might have mixed up the other customers with me but then I realized that she was trying to cheat the 10 euro. Things turned into soap operas as she started to act as innocent. At the end, I got back my money but it's a really horrible experience, the lady is not honest and the boss is not friendly, if you have budget, don't choose this place.

It's very centrally located and you get all the necessary you need to enjoy a stay in Pisa. The man who welcome us was really friendly and even amazing. He gave us helpful hints about what to see and where to enjoy the local cuisine at affordable prices.

The Hotel Astor did exactly what we wanted, it was cheap and cheerful. We arrived in Pisa late(ish) and got the hotel around 9pm and checked out @ 9am. I wouldn't say you would want to spend time relaxing in the hotel but as a crash pad and somewhere to sleep it was perfect.

My fiancé and I needed to spend one night in Pisa before travelling to Florence, Hotel Astor was very handy for this. The price was good, the location was good (only about 10-15 minutes walk from the leaning tower of Pisa), and we were able to check in quite late without any problems (something you can't take for granted in all Italian hotels it seems). All in all a decent budget hotel.

We stayed in Pisa at the Astor for 2 nights. The room was clean enough, but smaller than what we had in Rome and in Florence! It's a good thing it was the end of our trip and had put all of our dirty clothes in my husband suitcase, and we didn't need to open it, because there wasn't any room to have 2 luggage open except on the bed. Mattresses were very soft, the ceiling lamp didn't have a cover (so you were staring at the bulb), and the room was very noisy even with the windows closed. Which was a surprise because the neighbourhood seems very quiet. (with the windows closed, you could hear someone rolling their luggage down the street, so you can imagine how you could hear a car coming by!) The bathroom needs a visit from a maintenance crew. Couldn't believe we weren't offered any free wi-fi. Upon returning to the room at the end of our full day in Pisa, we noticed that the door was unlocked (closed, but unlocked). Nothing was missing, and I'm sure it's a once-in-never occurence, but I still didn't like it. We liked that it was very close to the train station. The tower is walking distance, even though it's a bit farther. Finally, don't spontaneously decide to come back after midnight - if you do, the door to the hotel will be closed, since there is no staff after midnight. If you plan on coming back later, they'll arrange something for you.

We stayed in the hotel for one night while on a way to Florence. We arrived late at night, we got a warm welcoming and suggestion for the great pizza place. The room was spotless, a little bit too cramped, but for the price unbeatable. I would recommend for an afordable stay in a charming town of Pisa.

This hotel is close to train station which was perfect for me and my sister. We were there for one night. The room was clean, the bathroom though extremely small but also very very clean. The room is just regular, very small, and very clean. I only stayed there one night so i can manage. But they really hesitate when i tried to pay with my credit card, and just for simplicity, i just pay them in cash, which made them smile. A lady in the front desk though didn't speak English at all but was helpful when i asked her to turn on the heater in my room. Oh and the computer in the lobby was not free ( I think i read it in some review that the one in the lobby is free ). The guy in the front desk on the afternoon shift told me that it cost 3Euro per 30 minutes. Overall would i stay in this hotel again? well it meets the cleanliness. And yeah maybe...but i'll try to look for other hotel first. It was 50 Euro and pretty much only gave us a bed and a shower, oh and heating.

The hotel was easy to find in the small town of Pisa. The room was small, fairly clean and quiet. The hotel has a curfew. The receptionist acted like he hated his job. Threw the keys to the room over the counter. But was also very helpful with guiding us to a nearby restuarant - which was the best pizza we had i all of Italy. All in all, a good stay.

Hotel Astor is the perfect stay over spot. While clearly not a five star hotel, the facilities are clean, the people are helpful, there's wifi access, and my double room actually had a double bed instead of two twin beds like most double rooms in Italy. The location is great, I walked everywhere from the train station to the leaning tower. Provided you don't intend to spend all of your time in the hotel room but are looking more for a safe place to keep your things, a clean bathroom, and a comfortable place to sleep I would definitely recommend the Astor.

Nice and new/newly renovated hotel between the railway station and the leaning tower, the standard was so good that we were actually surprised it had only two stars. Good service, but the staff didn´t speak English very well (or not at all). Our four-bed room was nice and (very) clean, one double bed and one double-decker. The only drawback was that Internet was not free - it costs 5 euro for every one hour.

Rooms are quite small, beds may have better mattresses, the pictures do not correspond to the real thing. However each room has its own air conditioning (that's fundamental in Pisa during the summer!) and is cleaned everyday. The reception closes at 1 o'clock at night and we had to insist to keep a key to enter later for the time we stayed there. They wanted the key back every day, and every day we had to ask for it again. I found that pretty absurd... A part from this, the staff was quite nice. This hotel is nothing fancy, but if what you need is just a clean and quite place to sleep near the center of Pisa, this is the place for you.

The hotel was near the station. However, hte outside needs a coat of paint. The room was very small with hardly any space for our luggage. The room should only accommodate a single bed. We had our private bathroom a bit away from our room - but didn't mind that. I will not recommend this hotel unless the shortcomings are remedied.

It seemed as though the gentleman who checked us in didn't want to be bothered with making a morning taxi reservation (for 5AM!) for us as we had to leave the next day; however, another gentleman gave us lots of local knowledge about where to go for dinner and shopping. The young lady who was at the desk next took care of us very well and made sure the taxi reservation had been made. The rooms were clean and quiet. My friends' room air conditioning worked, but mine did not. The reception area included a comfortable seating area with coffee/liquor bar that was open 24/7. That was a welcome amenity as it was hot when we arrived and we enjoyed cool beverages.

Most expensive place we stayed in Italy in comparison with similar hotels re classification. At least E20-25 more per night for a room compared with Florence,Rome & other cities. It wasn't a fancy hotel, but the staff was flexible and helpful. The quadruple room was roomy enough and quiet for tired travelers. The location is fairly close to the train station with access to buses and the airport. The main commercial street was 4 blocks away. The famed pisa tower was about 12 blocks away. It was easy to catch a bus and explore the marina di pisa, 30 minutes away, which has a really nice family beach and where we experienced our best seafood italian meal.

The room seemed fine in the first place, but several details ruined it: serious problem with the water heater, the pressure goes lower on hot water every 20 seconds... And the tap in the bathroom was broken. Broken light bulb on the bed side too. Worst was the bed, it was not a big bed, but 2 single beds next to eachother, my bf or i fell in the gap during the whole night, making one of the beds slide on the floor. The Wifi was not working, no network detected in the whole neighborhood. My 4% reduction granted with a VENERE.com code was not applied to the bill, I had to pay the whole price.

First of all, no problem to be a gay couple there! i choose this hotel because it looked like modern, and it was the case. I couldn't imagine how it would have been in the other low prices hotels of pisa found on venere, they looked so old fashion. Then, the room is very very small, the matrimonial bed is 2 single beds together, the room with bathroom cost me 50€ on friday night, 70€ on saturday night, and i think it was 50 for the rest of the week also. the street is not very quiet but you can sleep. Some mosquitos. The shower is not perfect since it alterns cold and hot, but it is clean and confortable. The room is clean and the personnel is ok, always changing, reception opens until 1:00am. I haven't tried the breakfast, venere says it cost 5€. Globally i was happy, it is the cheapest hotel i found in pisa, and i was expecting something worst. the wifi internet connection is not working, it would be nice to write it on venere's website. But don't expect too much, the price is the good point, and the quality is correct.

The hotel is in an excellent location with regard to distance from railway and into the main town for restaurants and the Leaning Tower of Pizza. The owner was very welcoming and showed us to a family room which was his last room and outside the main hotel - an upgrade! Unfortunately the electrics failed which meant that the pump for the water failed and following a cancellation we were then moved back into the main hotel. The owner did everything he could in the circumstances, however we were moved into the main hotel where voices from reception could be heard all the way up the staircase and with tiled floors throughout footsteps were loud and door banging echoed throughout the hotel (even in the early hours of the morning). Very clean hotel, nice owners/staff good for a brief stop over.

If you are looking for a place to sleep in Pisa- that is more than enough. 1. Fantastic value for money! 2.The Tower (15), station( 5 min) and airport (20 min) in walking distance so you can save on taxis. 3.Rooms and toilets very clean. 4. Internet, optional breakfast, v. small hotel bar, helpfull staff Much more than I expected for such a tiny price. Compared to other budget hotels I stayed in during my spring break in Italy it was absolutly the best. For more demanding customers rooms may be to small and walls to thin... And if you want to have better view, you need to spend far more than that

Let's start with the positive. For 60 Euros I had a double room with ensuite bathroom ( breakfast not included) within easy walking distance of Pisa railway station. The man on reception was expecting me, was pleasant, spoke English and asked if I needed someone to carry my bag. The room was spotless and away from the street noise. Now the niggles. The main light wasn't working in the bathroom. The receptionist said they would mend it the next day but I was only staying one night. It was February. No one had thought to put the heating on in the room which was very cold. When I did put it on at the highest setting it was lukewarm. Not enought to heat the room. When I checked out I went to pay with my credit card. The hotel displayed notices stating all the credit cards they took. This was also on my booking e-mail. Yet when I went to pay I was asked for cash. Reluctantly the receptionist took my credit card but complained in Italian to another member of staff about tourists not paying in cash. When I returned to Pisa I chose to stay at another hotel.

It's nice and clean, but not so good for the price you payed. Looking at the photos you believe is a modern hotel, but the rooms are a bit poor and old fashioned comared to what you expect. However is very clean and you have all the services needed. The surroundings are not specially beautiful, but Pisa is not known as the most beautiful city in Italy. It's half way from the city center and half way to the train station. Not bad,but not fantastic. Fine.

No parking and toilettes and shower outside the rooms, in the corridor, in front of the entrance door ! no light in the room, and the staff cannot fix it. Of course the hotel was full, so no change possible. The frontdesk indicated us a restaurant "l'acere".....never eat a pizza there, believe me. except this, the bed is good and the room almost quiet. Staff speaks english and a few french.

Good value for money and very convenient location between station and the tower. We had a ground floor room with its own bathroom. The a/c only partly worked so rather hot but liveable! No WiFi (broken) but they allowed me to plug my laptop into their router for free. Breakfast a waste of money-- go to a cafe!

The location was great (15min walks trough pedestrian streets to the Tower) The only thing is that the price charged through Venere (125 € for a quadruple room) was not the price indicated on the door of the room itself (90€!)

Excellent, helpful staff. No elevator, but staff offered to take up our heavy luggage to first floor. Room has more facilities than required for 2-star (A/C, TV etc). But towels not changed everyday, despite sign in bathroom giving this option (sign has now been removed). Breakfast - coffee and croissant (juice if you beg for it) - not worth it. Go to a coffee shop nearby.

Hotel Astor is a simple hotel when all you need is a room. I wasn't interested in the sights and it was close to the train station so it was perfect for us. Nice people at the front desk. I absolutely did not mind not having a bathroom in our room. Our own private bath was just down the hall. I have already booked another night's stay when I fly out.

It seemed too much money for what we got. We had a MUCH better hotel (Bretagna) for 75 Euros for 3 people with bath and includes an extensive buffet breakfast in a great location in Florence. The Astor was adequate, but should have cost much less that 90 Euros for 3 people with bath and no breakfast or 5 euros more for a only a croissant and coffee.

We were upgraded to a nice triple which was fine. The room was fine except for horrible stenchy smells of cleaning fluid or perhaps vinegar or something. Weird hot/cold showers but I suppose that can-t be helped.

A very nice hotel in a very nice, small, beautiful city. The hotel is in the center of the city and offers the tourists the possibility to walk around the whole beauties of pisa. A really nice stay, we would definitively return there. Recommended. PS: This hotel offers rooms and services more like a 3 stars than a 2 stars!

When I made the booking I ordered (if possible) a king bed and they did give it. But what I didn't ask for because I thought it was included is a bathroom inside the room. It wasn't. There was a shared bathroom outside the room. If possible, ask for the room with private bathroom when making reservation.

The room rent was pretty much on the higher side compared to the services offered. Its a pity that Venice had much better rooms at lesser rates while in Pisa we have to do with only this kind of a budget hotel.

Cutre. Una habitación con techos muy altos que no se calentaba nunca. Pasamos frío. Las toallas parecian de la postguerra. La cama que se suponia de matrimonio eran los camitas juntas que se separaban enseguida. Muebles cutres y todo con un punto guarro. No vayais.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Who ever said a picture is worth a thousand words, hasn't heard of trick photography. I traveled with my husband and 2 children and we couldn't believe the size of the room. The view out of my window was an alley with garments hanging from a clothes line. My recommendation to all is to make your hotel reservations way in advance so you don't have to settle for Hotel Awful.

This is a very well run hotel, with modern well appointed rooms. We chose a room without a bathroom and were abit disappointed in the small combined shower/toilet cubicle we had to use down the corridor. The room was quiet, close to the train station and a good price.

The hotel was exactly as expected, not grand but perfectly suited for our 2 nt stay. Our ground floor room with W/C & bunk beds worked well for us. It was spotless and had crisp white bed sheets. Easy walking distance to the Leaning Tower and train station. Would definitely recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

We picked this hotel because it was about 15 min walk away from the tower and therefore in less busy area (we had a car to park) and it claimed to have air conditioning in each room (thought that this would be essential for Aug). Room was very clean but quite small and air conditioning didn't work (in the event that didn't really matter as it rained most of the time we were there). Breakfast choice very limited - dont bother there are a few alternatives nearby. One public room - as per picture. Very handy for train station but more like hostel than hotel.

The hotel was situated in a handy enough location, about 10 or 15 minutes walk from the leaning tower. The staff seemed pleasant enough however could have been a bit more welcoming. The room was average/poor compared to some other places we stayed within the same price bracket. One word of warning for anyone who books on the internet is that you will often be given the poorer rooms in the hotel because of the lower rate you paid online. I found this slightly unfair and meant the pictures of rooms online never matched what you got. No breakfast included in price but to be honest we were glad to get out of the place and get some fresh air.

The room was rather small, with no en-suite, and no breakfast included. There is a good cafe opposite. It is not too far from the station, and within easy walking distance of the main sites. A convient one night stop.

Hotel location was OK - close to station. Reception staff could not find any record of our booking on arrival and there was general confusion. Booking eventually identified in my firstname not surname! Room was OK - breakfast was not included in tariff which was above average we paid in Italy.

We found this hotel to be good value for money and in a good location. It is a short walk from the train station and about a 10min walk from the leaning tower. Our room was clean and had all we needed. We had to share a bathroom down the hall. This was fine as we were leaving Pisa on an early flight the next day and it was only needed as a short stop over for one night. If we were staying in Pisa longer we would have requested an en suite room rather than a room with just a sink. The hotel staff were very helpful and on hand 24hrs, even at 4.30am when we needed a taxi booking! The taxi to the airport was very quick. It took about 5mins and cost 8 Euros. The cost, value for money, proximity to the station, central Pisa and the airport made this a great stop over after a long weekend in Florence.
