reception staff are grumpy and rude, in person and on the phone. Wifi was non working and no appologies offered. 15 mosquitos killed in my room before trying to sleep and was still eaten alive. No nets on windows. Restaurant food poisened my collegue and staff was old school(in a bad way). The name Grand Hotel is totally inappropriate for this tourist trap

DON'T ACCEPT ROOM 128 YOU WILL NOT SLEEP DUE TO THE NOISE OF MACHINES IN THE KITCHEN UNDER THIS ROOM. THE SECOND NIGHT WE ASK FOR AN OTHER ROOM. EXCEPT THIS POINT, THIS IS A VERY GOOD PLACE.

The room was presentable but we were disappointed with the air conditioning. It was very warm and when asked if anything was wrong with the airconditioning, we were told that it wasn't the right time of the year. We could open the windows but it still was quite warm but as a result, the room was quite noisy. The staff weren't the friendliest. However, the price was very affordable and the breakfast was great. The location was a bit dicey at night especially travelling with a child.

It is a good hotel. The close surroundings are not very interesting but in 10 minutes you can walk to the Piazza dei Miracoli and in 20 min you are in the old part and central part of the town.

Staff was just ok, but not really friendly.. We did not like the surroundings - a bit too far away from the center and the way to get there wasn't very nice. The rest was ok, but we would rather rate it only 3 stars.

The car park behind the hotel was free :-) About 15 minutes walk to the town centre/pedestrian area. The hotel is in an unattractive area alongside a main road and a railway; no doubt the rooms on the south side of the hotel are quieter than ours (north side). In general, I would rate the hotel as a 3 star. Very pleasant recenptionist.

The hotel is clean and well located within walking distance to the Leaning Tower. Furthermore, there is a free parking behind the hotel. My complain is related to the staff. I addressed one employee standing behind the check out counter and he said: not me, ask the other. The day we checked out, the lady did not even say good morning, did not ask about the quality of the stay. We had the feeling that we were bothering all of them. Even the Maitre d'hotel was rude. We saw no smile on the staff's faces. The staff should be trained to be friendlier, to smile and to greet guests properly. It was my first stay at this hotel and certainly the last.

Good location as far as the Cathedral and Tower are concerned. Underpass to hotel at night is not user friendly - poor illumination. Person on own might feel nervous! Hotel itself is excellent if a bit characterless.

This is a relatively new hotel with very pleasant staff. I chose to stay at this property twice because it is very near the place I was working. The surroundings are initially off-putting (near rail line, underpass with graffiti) but the presence of locals going about their business quickly put me at ease. I would recommend this hotel particularly to those travelling through the region by car and want to stop for one night (or two, depending on your pace) to check out Pisa's lovely sites. The free parking lot behind the building can be reached by arterials while avoiding the congested old town. I was able to walk to the tower comfortably within about 15 minutes. A quick cab ride would be a snap... For that matter, taking a cab from the Pisa airport would also be an alternative. However, this is not the place for you if you are looking for tons of charm in an ancient building within the old city walls. Other positive features: Considering it is in a hotel, the restaurant is reasonably priced with decent food. This is a good thing as there aren't any other dinner spots in the immediate neighborhood. The desk staff is fluent in English and are open 24 hours.

The biggest rooms of anywhere I stayed in Italy. Close to train tracks so a little bit of noise. Excellent restaurant and large selection for free breakfast. Only downside is that they have some new TV satellite system requiring multiple remote controls that didn't work. They offered me a different room but others at the hotel said they had same problem.

An ideal businessman hotel with mod cons not really for tourists who wish to relax. The bar was in an extended reception area, so one had to sit in the lobby to have a drink, there should have been a lounge area. Breakfast staff didnt communicate at all with any guests both mornings, although the room was bright, clean & tidy with a well stocked buffet.

Small room does not rate a 4 star, and with the air-conditioning turned off by the hotel got very hot & stuffy at night. Opening the window allows road and train noise to keep you awake. "Yes, it's turned off" was the only response we got from the management. Ask for a room at the rear if you stay here as it overlooks the car parking area and is a lot quieter at night. Wouldn't want to stay more than 1 or 2 nights here. Well positioned for access to and from the airport. Good restaurant with reasonably priced drinks. Godd buffet breakfast Communal areas clean and spacious. 10 min walk to The Tower but beware of the many broken, loose and missing pavement blocks on the way.

+ Clean, functional, bar staff helpful - Poor quality breakfast, poor location, austere reception I would perceive it more of a business hotel than a vacation hotel. Not a complaint, it was just a clinical hotel, lacking in atmosphere in a location devoid of amenities. We would recommend Pisa for a day trip only.

Living in a 'Grand Hotel' could be more 'luxurious' or at least more convenient. Especially regarding the breakfast, which in italy is better even in much more simple hotels, and regarding the location (just beyond railway-tracks). But all up: "Ok."

The modern, very clean and spacious hotel is ideally situated for the airport and to get to the 'leaning tower' area, which is less than 10 minutes walk away.
