We had a room overlooking the magnificent valley, it was Tuscany at its best. The hotel has a lot of character, and we especially enjoyed the joyful 6 o'clock bells going off in the beautiful adjoining church while we were relaxing on the terrace. The hotel is impeccable, the staff very helpful and the restaurant delicious. The complimentary welcome drink brought to our table was a thoughtful touch. I would recommend Il Chiostro di Pienza to any traveler looking for a special stop in Tuscany.

I was very pleased with the hotel, the location is perfect, breakfast amazing. there is only one complain, the heating was shutdown in the middle of the night and it was really cold.

The hotel is very nice and very friendly. Beautiful location and great views. Photo on the web-site does not show the charm of the place. Photho should certainly improved. Service and breakfastr very good. Ceratinly woth staying in :)

Very nice place but far overprized. Beautiful surroundings and entrance of the hotel. Rooms are to simple, needs to have a touch up soon. Staff very nice and the restaurant in the hotel is of very good quality.

Our stay at Il Chiostro was delightful from beginning to end. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, and our rooms, opening onto a spacious and beautiful sitting area, were perfect. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and we enjoyed sitting on the garden terrace each morning.

I visited Il Chiostro for 2 nights in late June with my husband. It was one of the highlight hotels of our 5 week holiday in Europe. Our room and even the bathroom had beautiful views over the countryside. It's worth requesting this, as some rooms face the courtyard and rooftops. The breakfast terrace is lovely, in a garden setting with beautiful countryside views, although breakfast is the usual fare. The staff are excellent; responsive to requests, helpful with internet which is free and unlimited, helpful with restaurant recommendations (even suggesting their favourite dishes). Our favourite restaurant was Trattoria Latte di Luna. Inexpensive but very good. Reservations essential. A very cheap option, just opened, is La Buca di Enea, only 4 tables but good basic dishes, and open later at night than any of the others. This hotel has a beautiful location and is right in the centre of a stunning old town.

For those in the 400 series rooms, which all appear to be non-smoking rooms, the upper floors are only accessible via stairs. The elevator is for the main body of the hotel. My room had limited electrical outlets, so that I used my laptop on battery, charging it up in non-use time using the only free outlet in the bathroom.

Although a little small, the room had a most beautiful view of the Tuscan countryside. The hotel is very pleasant and Massimo at reception had an interesting sense of humour. The breakfasts were good although often dishes/plates of fruit, meats etc. were empty and slow to be replenished.

The really bad point was the swimming pool which was not perfectly clean, and the area around it: there were not enough sunbeds, and they were not really clean.

The outdoor swimming pool had insects and leaves in the water. Would have been nice if this had been cleaned every morning. Apart from this, it was a marvellous stay!

We loved our stay at Il Chiostro di Pienza. The room was lovely, the people at the desk were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel to others who are looking for a great place to stay in the beautiful town of Pienza. We plan on returning!

I was very lucky and booked a double room for one night for only 39€! The stay was worth a lot more. Staff was extremely friendly and professional, the hotel is the only one in Pienza's historical center, the rooms are huge and elegantly furnished, clean, quiet and with views. It's a pity we stayed only one night.
