Piccolo Hotel - Peschiera del Garda

A very nice hotel, helpful owner and good value. It is located in a good residential area with a 10 minute walk to the old town and the lake. It could do with more shade being provided by the swimming pool.

The hotel per se is quite nice : modern and even high tech. But the opening hours are not convenient at all (18.00 to 23:00), and you are warned that you will have to leave the room by 10, so forget about getting a good rest or sleeping in! Breakfast is from 8:00 to 10:00, of good quality, but you will be charged for a second cup of coffee. The service as a whole is pretty poor : there was nobody at the reception for example to answer our request for a blanket (not provided in the wardrobe) or to serve a drink at the superb -but desperately vacant- bar. The location itself is not convenient if you don't have a car, as the hotel is in a suburb that is out of town, a fifteen minutes walk from the town center and a thirty minutes walk from the train station, which is exactly at the other end of the town. The neighborhood is serviced by only 4 buses a day, and one pizzeria which is not always open. The staff -when it is there- is helpful, but not fluent in English at all, the brochures you are given must have been translated by a machine as they are nearly impossible to understand except for the one in Italian, and the TV channels are only in Italian and in German (2 channels with a pretty bad reception). Also no fridge in the rooms. Perfect hotel, then, if you arrive by car after you have had dinner and all you need is a good bed in a quiet environment before you take off for a busy day. Otherwise, you will have been warned!

We had a very good stay at the Piccolo Hotel. It had recently been decorated and rooms were extremely pleasant with a superb view of Lake Garda and the mountains from our top floor room. Staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for us.

It was our first time in this hotel but not the last!

A nice, small Hotel outside the centre of Peschiera del Garda with a beautiful look over the lake (fortunately from my room - rooms on the other side of the corridor have not this view). A little bit on a hill, so it could be exhausting for older people to get to the Hotel. But the surrounding is more quietly than in the city. All looks new, fresh and renovated. For an italien hotel it has a good breakfast with good coffee.

We only spent four nights at the hotel. We had to return to Switzerland because of an emergency in the family.
