people were great. hotel was great. Pool fantastic - best we stayed at in italy with 2 small kids. Location great - some rooms had views of the gorgeous lake only 50m away from the hotel. But two things to be aware of: Firstly - a lack of a/c was a shocker for us. The hotel is in sun for 18 hours of the day in summer - and it is just hot hot hot. They advise you to close the shutters so that the sun doesnt get you in the morning ... but ooooh it was stifling. we asked to be moved, and they very politely accommodated us, but it was still just too hot. But we went in July tho' so we got what we deserved..! Stifling. Then there is the camp ground - which is about 100m away from some of the hotel rooms. We stayed 5 nights and during the first night the campground had a party - until 1am. That, mixed with the heat worried us. but they had no more parties in the remaining days. Other than that - clean, rooms just big enough, good parking facilities [although the lack of internet anywhere close to the hotel was annoying, but that's Italy !]

Nice and quiet around pool area compare to anywhere in Spain, no annoying music and constant games. Children had a great time and had pool to themselves most of the time. Snack bar would be nice but you could live without. Overall we had a great stay with a nice room and a beautiful view.

Fornaci is a family run hotel. Very welcoming and helpful. Our room overlooked Lake Garda - wonderful views. Breakfast good. Hotel in nice, well kept grounds. Bar open until late in the evening, which we appreciated after a long day out. Nearest town (Peschiera) about 2 miles walk away along side of lake. Hairdrier in room would have been appreciated. Would definitely stay there again - wished we'd stayed longer than our 4 days. Ideal for exploring the lake.

Hotel in a quiet location along the bay from Pescheira-quite a long walk along the lake front-at least 30 mins and in front of a few campsites so not particularly scenic.Hotel slightly 'tired' but its quiet position on the lake front, being near to Sirmione, Verona, Lazise etc, the lovely pool, the breakfast on the patio near to the lake and the good level of service from the owners and staff made this a good stay for us.

The hotel is located a good distance (at least a mile) outside of Peschiera, but the walk into town is alongside the lake and very beautiful. There isn't much to do around the hotel and the swimming pool is unheated and was very cold (we stayed in the middle of September). However, Peschiera is an ideal base for travelling around the area, we took the train direct to Venice, the bus to Verona, Sirmione, Desenzano and also the boat up the lake to Garda. We ran out of time otherwise we would have visited Milan as well. The breakfast was pleasant and offered a range of cereals, boiled eggs, cooked meat and cheese, plus a good amount of fresh fruit. The walls in the rooms are very thin and you do get quite a lot of noise from the plumbing and other guests. I'd recommend the hotel to somebody wanting a pleasant base in the area but be prepared for a lot of walking. Make sure to take advantage of the local transport connections to get to some of the more spectacular parts of the area.

The Hotel is located in a beautiful village, right infront of lake garda. The staff is very helpful and warm. The rooms are cleaned daily; beds done and clean towels everyday. The buffet breakfast is super especially the warm crossaints and tasty fruit flan or raisin cake! One can take a nice long walk along the lake up to the centre of Peschiera. We stayed in San Benedetto for a week and used to dine in the evening at a nearby camping restaurant which had reasonable prices for food. There is also a small market nearby where one can buy bottled water etc. It is advisable to rent a car to visit places along the lake. The train station is in the centre of Peschiera and serves good for long distances like visiting Venice. We had a great holiday there and thanks for the staff at Hotel Fornaci who were very helpful in indicating travelling directions on the map.

We regularly holiday in Peschiera and decided to stay in a hotel as opposed to a chalet. Hotel Fornaci definitely lived up to its expectations - a family run hotel that's focus is ensuring the guests have a good time. We decided to stay for 3 weeks and our stay was very enjoyable, and will definitely come back. There is nothing I can fault at all about the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean, bedding changed regularly and the pool is a good size for the hotel. The hotel caters for everyone: couples, families and older people who want to relax and get away from it all. The centre of Peschiera is an enjoyable 20 minutes walk away along the lake where the hustle and bustle happens. Peschiera is on the main train route to Venice and Milan and the train service is very reasonable and regular.

I have one critic to add: I stayed with my daughter for 1 week (most of the other guests spent only few days in the hotel) nevertheless we got 1 of the smallest room with no balcony. On my request I got on the arrival day I got the information that the hotel is fully booked and it could not changed. the text in your Internetinformation tells: The rooms are fully equipped: private bathrooms, TV, safe, direct dial phone, balcony overlooking the lake. This was the only negative but important point

We stayed at the Fornaci Hotel from 3rd July 2007 to 12th July 2007 during a holiday to Italy. We did not hire a car. At first we thought the hotel was in a location too far away from the town of Peschiera del Garda, but once we got familiar with the local transport system we thought the location was good because it was a lovely quiet spot by the lake. You can walk the 2 kilometers into the town along the beach walkway instead of taking the bus. The hotel staff were very welcoming and very pleasant and their service and helpfulness were excellent. We enjoyed our 9 days at the hotel and were sorry to have to leave and go back to work. The hotel has a very nice pool and sunbathing area. We would go back to that hotel if we ever went to that area again, but next time I think we would hire a car so as we could get to other places more quickly.

Nice view on the lake. Good location. Nice breakfast although it has no fresh vegetables and they have a strange rule regarding hot drinks. They want you to use the automatic machine for all the hot drinks except espresso (good one) which you can ask them to do with their espresso machine. Even when we asked for Americano (espresso + water) they sent us to the machine (very bad taste) so I had to ask for espresso, take hot water from the machine and mixed them together by myself. The hotel is very close to Gardeland but when you go there you must get on the road very early since the traffic is terrible (6 Km in 1.5 hour). On the day you leave, you must evacuate on time or else they will keep asking you to do so every 10 minutes.

it was a nice 4-day-vacation at the end of the season, indeed it was almost too quiet. at night there was a little icky dog making noise outside. the hotel is good, including breakfast. the price of low season should not be the same as of high season ... walking about half an hour to town along the promenade of lake garda is fun and a kind of sport ( we had no car with us.)

For the price paid this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, yes the rooms are basic but functional. The hotel and location are fantastic its probably the quietest spot I have ever been too and the welcome from staff was fantastic, nothing was ever too much. I would recommend this hotel time and time again, for its simple charm and welcome.

The hotel was very clean and nice. It's very close to the lake, so you can just get out and directly ly in the sun and swim in the lake. The hotel has a very nice garden as well. The staff was very friendly. Overall I can recommend this hotel. The only disadvantage might be, that the hotel can just be reached by car and it's not a walking distance to Peschiera.
