The hotel was fine for our purposes, a two day visit to explore the original hometown of our family. It was perfect with this in mind, to get a feel for what the city was like....beach, shopping areas, parks and residential areas. Compared to Rome and Florence, there's not much English spoken at the desk or in the restaurant. For an extended stay, it would have been much more difficult, but for two days all was fine. Food at restaurant was basic fare but good. Plenty of shops nearby; not so much with restaurants and coffee or wine bars. Very minimal English spoken at those as well. Beautiful beach areas and marina. Room very basic and small, but clean. We had a room facing street at front of hotel. Pretty noisy early in the a.m., so I'd suggest asking for a room facing another direction.

Very low price, very high quality service. Ambra Palace offers everything you need plus a very kind employee at the desk. We are not talking about a 5* luxury hotel, but if you are a traveller who is looking for a nice room where to rest after a day around, this is your place.

We have stayed at this hotel before as its right in the middle of the town and easy to walk to the shops, staff are friendly and also speak good english. Parking is a nightmare we got a parking ticket for parking outside the hotel as there are no allocated spaces.

Very good breakfasts. Our main complaint was with the service - we felt the desk staff (especially those on in the evening) were less than welcoming. One evening we turned on the bedside lamp and it immediately went out and blew the circuits for the entire room, so we were in total darkness. I went down to the desk to tell the clerk and he exhibited great exasperation at having to come up to the room to deal with the problem. In fact as we were getting into the elevator he made some comments to another employee (in Italian so I don't know what was said, but the tone implied it was not complimentary) and they both laughed. When he entered our room he threw the switch which was on the wall above the dresser and gave us a look as though we should have known what to do. He then got rather annoyed when I asked for another bulb for the bedside lamp as I like to read for a while before falling asleep. He did bring another bulb, but his attitude made it clear he thought we were tremendous pests. All in all an unpleasant experience and not conducive to tempting us to return.

I have stayed in 2 other 3* hotels on the Pescara promenade and would not choose them again purely because the rooms were small, the shower rooms smaller and the breakfast minimal to boring. The Ambra Palace is situated at the station end of the main shopping street and is really close to a lovely shopping square, the rooms were slightly bigger and the shower room a much better size. The breakfast was varied, offered fresh fruit, constant supply of hot croissants and was altogether better value because I actually enjoyed it.

I went to stay there to meet my friend, only for one day, actually they allowed me to check in before 12pm the check in time, as i arrived early at 8 am in the morning, Service & Room was good, i would strongly recommend if it fits into your budget, Breakfast Lobby is very small, However, Food only matters the most. Overall i would rate 8 out of 10

I was very happy with this hotel. I went to Pescara to spend Christmas Eve with friends, and it was close to the station but in a good area. My only regret is that because it was Christmas the restaurant was closed. I would definitely like to return in warmer weather and take in the restaurant as well! The beach is close by. :o))) P.S. The friend in Pescara whom I was visiting also commented that it was a good hotel.

The Hotel Ambra Palace was definately a treat after a long hot day of travel. My husband and I were delighted to start off the first leg of our honeymoon here as the Staff was helpful and friendly, the room was clean, cool and comfortable and there was a neat little restaurant in the hotel that served good food. I would definately stay here again... Perhaps next year on our anniversary?
