This hotel is in a great location in Perugia - close to the main street in the center of the city, but tucked away on a small street that is very quiet. Very friendly and affable staff who speak decent English and provide great recommendations for area visits. Breakfast is minimal. Prepare well if you are driving in the historical center, but beware - there is no guarantee that you will be able to park close to the hotel for free parking. Enjoy!

This quaint and cozy hotel was just what I hoped it would be. Located on a narrow street, it captured the charm of the old city of Perugia. The room, though compact, was comfortable and had a window that opened onto a small courtyard. My room was so warm that I had to turn down the heat, despite the cold and rainy weather outside. The private bath was great, though, while not a problem for me, the small shower could be difficult for bigger people. Breakfast was basic but good, with great coffee, and the staff was friendly and very helpful. This room was a great off-season value and provided just the atmosphere I hoped for - and an added bonus was that it was just around the corner from my daughter's university apartment.

This hotel is perfectly located close to CBD. Our room was fine. Breakfast good. No internet. Host spoke some English. Very convenient. Dont try to get there without a taxi! (very steep roads). Perugia itself is breathtaking but expensive. Hard to find reasonably priced food. No supermarkets.

This hotel is close to the center of town and in that respect very convenient, but there are more than one incorrect or misleading points on the web page: Where is the high speed internet connection in the room? or what about "The hotel also features an Internet point"? When I inquired about this at the front desk, the attendant offered to look something up on the internet on his PC for me, but, oh no - you cannot get your e-mail! I selected this hotel because it supposedly had an internet connection, close to the center of town and free parking. The "free Parking" was on the other side of town on some random street which was very difficult to find even with a navigator. And then there was the hike back to the hotel! The showers in the tiny bathrooms are miniscule. We had two rooms and they were both the same, as were others that we passed with opened doors when they were being cleaned. There was always only one staff person on duty that I could see. Therefore the same person was flipping back and forth between the front desk and preparing coffee, etc in the Breakfast Room, or in the office on the phone... When we arrived, our room was on the 2nd floor (third by American standards) and no one to help with luggage. this could be an issue for the elderly or those traveling with small children. Well, the rate was reasonable, but you get what you pay for...

Hotel reminded me of Fawlty Towers in that the stir carpets were loose and unsafe, the plumbing very didgy and the breakfasts were awful-only things in packets were available-nothing fresh. However, the staff were friendly and helpful and as I was hardly in the hotel nothing was a problem. It is a superb location being very close to the centre of old Perugia but not at all suitable for those with a mobility problem as there as countless steps down to the hotel-I loved it but it would not be suitable for anyone wanting a bit of luxury!

Overall a pleasant stay in a great location. Just make sure you follow signs for Hotel Umbria or Umbria hotel so as to not go round in circles. Receptionist was intially a little coy about me having a British passport which was annoying but he was quite jovial from then on. Bear in mind that there is a short steep cobbled path to and from the hotel to negotiate.

The staff was great, though the owner spoke less English than the others. The reception area is welcoming but the room was a little seedy looking (I pretended I was in a Tom Waits song to reconcile myself to it!). However, it was very clean. There's no lift, but the manager carried my bag up to the room. The breakfast was good and the location, though down a narrow back street (a taxi can't go to the door), was ideal and there was lots of signage pointing to it.

Simple Hotel in very central position. Cannot be reached by car, parking complicated. Friendly, welcoming reception, room clean, nothing special. Heating worked. Basic but ample continental breakfast. All in all excellent for the price, would come again.

The staff was friendly and helpful but as for the room, you get what you pay. They are not big and the view is terrible. Also to get to this hotel you have to climb many stairs and if you have luggage with you (and this is usually the case!), well, there is going to be a problem then. But for a couple of days is ok and the location is very close to the main street in Perugia.

Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo,ma per quanto riguarda la colazione non vi è l'ombra di dolci di produzione casalinga come descritto nella pagina web....comunque da consigliare per brevi soggiorni.

Hotel Umbria was in a great location, just one block behind the main area of the historic section of Perugia. Very quaint hotel with a charming back terrace. Perugia is a busy town, so we looked forward to having breakfast, and an evening glass of wine on this terrace. The staff was friendly, but spoke very little English, making our stay a little challenging. Breakfast was unimaginative, but adequate. Room size was good and the bathroom was surprisingly very large. The windows in the rooms were so nice, reminding us of just how old a building we were staying in. The only real negative would be that the description of the hotels amenities included an Internet Connection, and it did not. There were things we had to check online occassionally while visiting Perugia, and we had to walk about 15 minutes to an Internet Cafe to use a computer. But overall, location, size of rooms, and quaintness, we felt very comfortable there.

Easy to find from the main street, the staff (especially Parsa!) were fun and hospitable. The third floor bathrooms smelled of mold (muffi), but the staff tried to cover the smell for us. The rooms are very basic, but we were allowed to use the refrigerator in the kitchen, breakfast was wonderful, and for the price the location is excellent. Be ready to walk many hills! Parsa is the coolest cat!

Nicely located and easy to find. However, this was the smallest single room ever seen. Upon request and availability, larger single room was provided the next day. Better try to save the 6 Euro for rather poor breakfast. Excellent Umbrian nouvelle cuisine at "Il Gambero"

Hotel Umbria was like our home away from home. Passa and Pega who worked there were fabulous; helpful, kind and friendly. Passa's Uncle was nice as well, especially to call me a cab so early one morning. The hotel breakfast room/terrace was lovely and inviting as was the little front balcony where I sat in the evenings with a glass of vino! Overall the area is quiet but with the narrow streets/alleyways and being in close proximity to local resident's homes, one can hear almost every conversation and activity outside the hotel. That is actually enjoyable if one is traveling to Italy to experience how Italians live and work! This hotel is clean, decorated nicely and so worth every Euro. I thank everyone at this hotel for their hospitality and should I return to Perugia again,I would definitely stay here! Tanti auguri e mille grazie

E' un hotel in posiszione molto comoda, in pieno centro, con camere tranquille e spaziose. I servizi sono adeguati, solo è difficile trovare parcheggio nella zona autorizzata. Complessivamente molto buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo.
