Very well priced and a very good location. Quiet because it's a short (2 minute) walk away from the busiest streets of Perugia. The staff are very pleasant and friendly and so were other guests. This is an unpretentious place with simple rooms. My room was small-ish, but I could see that there were larger rooms too. The price is right and its very clean and quiet: just my kind of place.

Location was great. Parking is free with a voucher from the hotel. Or else you'd get a ticket if you park anywhere within the city. Staff was courteous. Since there are no refrigerators in the room, the staff held our drinks inside theirs. The bed was uncomfortable since it is just a single, thin mattress, but big enough for two. Bathroom is small, but a great deal for your money (€47) if staying one night. We had a balcony in our room, giving us a view that we'll remember forever while sipping on some local wine. Overall, our experience at the hotel was good.

We were welcomed on arrival, not so when we were forced to pay a penalty for early check-out due to tatal unsuitability of this hotel. Tiny rooms, even for Europe, unbelievably small baths, shabby furniture and linens, not clean appearing. Parking not as promised, elevator broken so we were forced to walk up to some of the higher floors with many bags.I have to recommend this hotel in order to finish this survey, but no one should recommend this hotel EVER! Like a 3rd world ccuntry.

Very good hotel for this price. We have book it as bed&breakfast, but it is a hotel, with service as a hotel - full breakfast, everyday cleaning, everyday change of towels. It was a nice surprise. For people in years or with small children may by a problem absence of elevator.

We were given a room at the third floor (no elevator). It was not that spacious but with a nice sight from the balcony over the valley below. It was clean enough but very old furnished and the bathroom very small and with no window. Staff were friendly and the location very central, just a few minutes walk to the main street. All in all a good value for money.

This hotel was very convenient for my purposes; i was on a rail tour of Italy and wanted somewhere reasonably priced and handy for transport links. It is very near to the Piazza Italia where the bus from the station stops. Unfortunately it took me a while to find it as there were no directions, I think this could be improved. The hotel is down a narrow street and everthing is quite steep; there is no lift in the hotel but I don't think anyone with mobility problems would choose it anyway due to the slopes and steps involved in getting down there. The room was quite spacious though a bit dark due to the odd arrangement of the window. The bathroom was minute (to be fair they did warn me about this) and there was no shower curtain which meant that in order to have a shower I had to empty the bathroom of everything that would move and still the water went everywhere. This didn't bother me as I was only there two nights but I did feel sorry for those that had to clean the room. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. The breakfast was not up to much - the least varied of any that I had in the eight hotels I stayed in during my tour. In summary: fine for a brief stay but if I was staying longer I would not use it.

The staff was incredibily helpful at this hotel. They to the bus station for us to check on departure times (the bus station is just 2-3 blocks from the hotel), kept our bags during the day after we had checked out, and let us use the front desk internet in the morning. The breakfast was good--bread, jams, cereal, and real espresso. The rooms were an amazing value for the price and the only negative part of the stay was that on Tuesday nights, the bar down the street seemed to be having kareoke or something very loud until late in the evening. Guests should be advised that the rooms do not have A/C, but even in late May this was not a problem due to Perugia's mild climate.

Did not actually stay in Hotel--when I got there was told that there was "a problem" with my reservation (although they knew I was coming and knew I had booked through venere). Was sent to Hotel Iris a bit further away from center--although not a bad walk. Was fine--spartan accomodations but comfortable for one and very clean. Breakfast buffet was nice and workers were very helpful. Met other not-so-young woman traveling alone as well as middle-aged couples. Be aware that no elevator.

A basic hotel in a reasonably central location. Not recommended for the less mobile as it was a steep climb to the centre - but in Perugia everywhere is a steep climb away. Air conditioning consisted of a fan and the hotel was quite noisy. The room opened up onto a small central courtyard and I found that sound carried and echoed around the courtyard. The bed was of a tubular steel construction with plywood placed over the springs and a mattress on top. Whilst this was reasonably comfortable, the springs did make some alarming noises which were not condusive to a good night's sleep. The young lady on reception was very helpful on arrival but after that I had very little contact with the staff as the key was mine for the duration of my stay and did not have to be handed in when I went out. I felt this was a security issue as had I lost the key anyone could have got into my room as the rooms could be accessed without going through reception. Breakfast was ok but nothing spectacular. I would consider returning to Perugia at some time in the future but doubt I would use this hotel.

Very atmospheric location and great to be able to park in the nearby Via Marzia. The public carpark we were urged to use was not so convenient - a 20 min hilly walk. No lift and room was very cold one afternoon when we were one of the few occupants. When the hotel filled up for the weekend heating was turned on earlier. A variety of pastries offered for breakfast with lovely expresso coffee. The shower was tiny and would be improved by a new, unblocked shower rose. Still, good value for the money.

Sant' Ercolano was a decent hotel. The walls are very thin, so we heard everything going on on our floor. The staff was extremely helpful though and polite. The bathroom was very cramped and the toilet ran all night. There is very little parking and it is was difficult to find the hotel. (Although there are a few signs to the hotel.) The breakfast was pretty good though.

This little hotel is great for what it is - a no-frills sleeping place with good facilities, very helpful staff and bags of character in the heart of a mediaeval city. Not recommended if you're disabled or can't get about by foot - Perugia's streets are very steep. It's very near St Ercolana Church, just ten minutes easy walk from the main bus station and you can get taxis if needed. We found Perugia itself full of life as well as history.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel Sant' Ercolano. Although the room was quite small (particularly the bathroom), it was very clean. The view we had over Perugia to Assisi was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Although the hotel is central, if we had not taken a taxi from the train station, I'm not too sure how easily we would have found it. If we come back to Perugia, I would certainly consider staying once again at the hotel Sant' Ercolano

Everything as expected except for breakfast, definitively poor: nothing fresh, even the orange juice tasted bad. You can avoid the breakfast, saving about ten euros, reserving directly at the hotel. Good location, quiet rooms (if you ask the reception for a room in the back). We could park our bike just in front of the hotel, but you will have troubles if you get there by car.

This hotel was a little difficult to find with the provided map, luckily we had a comprehensive map of perugia which was more useful. This is a nice hotel, with a quiet location, within 10 minutes wlak of the main square. Although it is a bit limited for restaurants in the immediate area it only takes 10-15 minutes walk to plenty of options. The room we had was very clean with a small balcony. The room was reasonably small which may bother some but did not concern us. The only complaint I had was that we were unable to pay by credit card, they claimed a problem with the line but I got the distinct feeling that they preferred cash, which is not a problem as long as this is stated up front. Overall though, I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

I loved the location of this hotel - right in center of the old town. The room was clean and ready for the time I arrived (mid-morning). There were some changes in the reservation that I wanted to make which were handled very smoothly by the person in charge.
