Hotel Ilgo - Perugia

It 'was the first time for us to the hotel Ilgo, and it seems excellent value for money, and a reception by a very good preparation.

Breakfast was excellent, help very professional however we had very noisy people housed next to us which made sleeping difficult.

Hotel Ilgo is difficult for a newcomer to find, but the shuttle bus means you can get into town and back throughout the day (except Sunday). In fact there are oublic buses which serve the area well too, and the staff went out of their way to help us know the times and bus stops. I cannot speak too highly of the staff's helpfulness. Perugia is a wonderful city, with many beautiful places accessible by train or coach.

This hotel is far from the center of the town,there is a shuttle but it does not respect the timetable and we must come back on foot

It's a pity that the free shuttle service to reach the centre does not work on Sundays

Hotel is way too far from historic center. The info given on the website is not truly accurate. There would be no way to walk home from the historic center in the dark, after dinner of following a night at a club. The hotel shuttle bus does not run 24hrs. Sometimes it is difficult to get a taxi and the public bus stop not close. The staff is very nice and breakfast good. Just not a great location. Primarily tour busses frequent this hotel.

This hotel is for people who like to walk. It is a little outside of the main town, but worth it. The views are beautiful. You can watch the sunrise from certain rooms in May. The food was decent, typical european breakfast. I thought eggs would be in buffet breakfast, but no go. I didn't ask, maybe I could have gotten one. Rooms are really nice and new. Great place. Very peaceful.

Hotel quite far from shops, bars, rstaurants.

Good position, for a good building, nice with good service,also for breakfast, we have spent a nice journey. Good correspondance beetwen description and the reality offered by the hotel. We advise it for short holiday or better for business.

Another overnight stop on our 10day trip through Italy. We booked it with reason not too far away from the highway, closer to centre and quiet. Not expensive, just for 1 night. Hotel lies in green quiet area. Hotel guests were mostly Italian and older to old, but it didn't disturb me. Except in the morning, they woke up early and were all assembled outside :) for a cigarette and a chat... Room and bath were clean and quiet with a nice view, but nothing overwhelming. Staff nice and helpful, breakfast rich and coffee gooood. Enough parking space.

Very nice facility. Id stay again in a heartbeat. Price was ok a little high but considering the breakfast, use of computer and lovely room it was compensated. Parking on street a little difficult but doable. People were pleasant and helpful. Bed comfortable and plenty of hot water in the bath. Lift was appreciated.

Food from restaurant got my husband sick, capuccino was burned, everything else has been more than ok.

In September 2008 I was grateful satisfaction I and my wife to lodge in Ilgo Hotel. Excellent location, very competent and attentive,very good restaurant and free shuttle service to the center

Truly a Great Hotel! What I enjoyed the most about the stay was its location, tranquil atmosphere and surroundings, FREE transportation to the city center and FREE parking not to mention, the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and comfortable rooms. Hotel Ilgo is secluded in many ways, yet, it is near enough for a brisk walk to the city center. Its location is truly far away from the city or main streets allowing you the opportunity to sit outside without the ever-present noise of cars and motor bikes. The hotel is very well maintained and extremely clean. The reception and adjacent lounge area are quite inviting and comfortable. During my stay, I met a large number of International guests stemming from the UK, Canada and Germany. The room was quite comfortable offering the standard furniture like a desk and quite surprisingly, a mini-bar which was perfect at midnight! The décor in the room was pleasing to say the least and the bathroom nice (shower was somewhat small in comparison to U.S. standards). In the evenings, after a city visit, it was nice to return to the tranquility of the hotel. The restaurant was very good with a great selection of dishes to choose from. The pastry offerings were excellent (gained a few pounds). The restaurant staff was courteous, attentive, and fast. After dinner, I strolled (well rolled is more like it) over to the bar area for a night-drink. The bar area is also where breakfast is served. I read some average reviews about their limited breakfast. I must tell you that if you seek an “American” breakfast, then you will be disappointed. However, if you enjoy a light breakfast that includes croissants (excellent), a selection of cereals, bread, pastries and of course espresso and/or a cappuccino, then you will be more than satisfied. All in all, I found the hotel to be excellent. I would not hesitate to stay at Ilgo if my travels were to take me to Perugia and/or surrounding area.

Not all of the rooms are equipped with air conditioning. Perfect behavior of the staff.

Great place and beautiful location, although a steep uphill walk to the city center. Breakfast was good but not outstanding.

Relationship between price/quality for this hotel was quite good, specially because we got a good discount booking by Venere.com . Room are beautiful, comfortable and clean. If you are travelling by train keep in mind that the hotel is not within walking distance from the station and is quite far from the city centre too.

A 10 minute uphill walk from the city walls. Looks ugly from the outside, luckily it is much nicer inside. The rooms were spacious and clean. The restaurant was nice and not too pricey. Breakfast was considerable.
